Not only is Kobe a 3pt god in this game, he is also a shooting foul drawing god as well. I was amazed by how many shooting fouls I drew with Kobe without even pump faking. I swear Kobe hit the deck on half of the shots I took with him. I was laughing so hard and saying is Kobe flopping because he is hitting the deck a hell of a lot after ever jump shot LOL.
If Korver is going for dunks, then that makes not having sliders even worse, as it's clear synergy isn't working.

In fact they should go back and lower several players verticals in this game because I've already seen way too many guys leaping out the gym as if they are Gerald Green in some of the videos.

Vertical effects their ability to take off and also triggers that "Rocket Dunk" animation....

I would love to see EA include a Vertical jump rating tied into a true value system like 40 inch vertical should equal just that 40 vertical rating because right now they seem to tie into a scale that range 40-99 for Vertical/Jump and that scale still renders guys doing things over the top in the actual gameplay area.

Minimum ratings set at 40 don't really fix some issues because you can still get easy steals and block shots for example even with a guy rated in the 40's......

I would also like to see them add a Standing jump rating which would stop someone like Dirk for example from just rising up on a offensive rebound and throwing it down in traffic.
Yeah I bet next year they going to bring back roster edits or sliders, maybe both. But for sure one of them need to be back in this game. If people blocking and doing dunks they shouldn't be doing wasn't bad enough, you still have centers and power forwards pulling off reverse lay ups circus shots way too much in every game.

That type of stuff just kills the realism.

Ha-Ha bingo I was right and I didn't even need the game to determine that Korver probably had a 40 rating for dunking...

In the spread sheet they posted it has ratings listed for players....

I think EA needs to spread out the ratings 0-99...at 40 it doesn't mean a player a player can't do something it just reduces his effectiveness to do it but you'll still see Korver dunking because that rating isn't low enough despite being at 40.

EA's ratings work on a scale and 40 is no different from being 60 in Live.

They need to go lower or even set certain attributes to 0 meaning the player won't do it regardless of what the engine dictates ie blocking shots, dunking or stealing.

Dirk has a 60 dunk rating just as I suspected....maybe 5 years ago that would have been appropriate but now it has to be reduced down even further.

Also, Kobe has 96 rating for Draw shooting foul which is why you experience what you did in your post.

That damn near means if you breath on him it's a foul.....but I don't have a problem with that they are giving Kobe the Star treatment so I can live with that rating.

Also, I think that floaty passing has a lot to do with Pass Accuarcy ratings...the lower the rating the less zip on the ball.

This has been consistent throughout every version of Live since it arrived on the XBOX 360.

You should really study that ratings spread sheet it's very helpful in determining why certain things are happening in the game.....

Too bad no editing is allowed....otherwise we could really alter some of the gameplay and even trigger some more of the animations locked into the rating.

I'm not to sure the majority will agree with your statement but to each his own.

All games have some type of issue that will be found and Live 15 is no different. Both games have great things going for them as well as bad but it can't be denied that the other game is way more polished and offers way more than this title. If this game is more polished please help me find it??

As the above post mentions, all games have flaws--and this one is no different. Yeah there needs to be more customization. But as a somewhat 'casual' basketball fan, I can pop this game in--and play it, and have a lot of fun. I don't have to spend hours scouring the threads for 'the right' sliders, and spend hours testing them out. In years' past, I found myself waiting for the right rosters and right sliders for so long, I never wound up even really playing the game.

                  I love that.

The arenas in this game are remarkable. If you haven't, go check out the Hornets digs. Too tight. I will say the floor at The Target Center in MN is ugly, lol.

Actually...The other game offers the choice to play the game "casual" or simulation..just go to game settings and change the gameplay style. You can pop in and just play the game the WAY YOU WANT...I Will give them that...I can choose which style of ball I wanna play...BOTH titles can be pickup n play

Yup. I was the LAL and I played the Nets and Kobe was 9-13 in threes. It was on SUPERSTAR level no less. This was the first time I played this game in about 2 weeks and I just couldn't take it anymore. From the idiotic cpu-logic to the slingshot animations to the "floating" passes to the lack of signature shots....this game just doesn't cut it for me.

Sold Live 15 and picked up 2K15 for $30 on a early Black Friday promo deal. While not a fan of the 2K series in the past, it's still way more playable than Live 15 - not to mention regular roster updates. Also Kobe doesn't look like he has a massive jaw tumor either.

That's what I was holding out on Black Friday pickup for one of these games...

I'm still not sure which one but I'll be grabbing one of them Black Friday for cheap.

I have both Playmakers and, honestly, if you want real team styles and playbooks , editing etc etc...then there is no choice. Live is fun, but the lack of any editing meqns all teams are generic. Unfortunately...
