    Cycloniac's TrueSim NHL 15 Sliders

    I'm back at it again!

I finally convinced myself to grab NHL 15, and have been working on sliders that bring the best out of a game that already has a solid foundation gameplay-wise. I use this set for coach mode/CPUvCPU games, but I'm sure that it can be used as a good starting place for your own sets. I also recommend setting the team strategies before each game - which is admittedly annoying, but worth it - with my custom AI settings seen here:
    http://www.operationsports.com/forum...amsystems.html

IMPORTANT NOTE: The sliders seem to change by themselves; this is a known glitch. Before you start each game, PAUSE it and review your slider settings to ensure that they are correct!

If you appreciate my work, I am now gratefully accepting donations.

    SLIDERS
    Difficulty: All-Star
    Period Length: 10 Minutes
    Off sides: Delayed
    Icing: Hybrid
    Injuries: On
The Break: 5 Min (4 on 4) Then Shootout
    Penalties: Maxed
    Post Whistle Rules: Authentic
    Penalty Time Scaling: 3

    Tuner: V1.01
Game Style: Hardcore (changes to custom)
    Broken Stick Frequency: 2

Game Speed: 1 - Excellent pace and flow, works in accordance with the acceleration slider.

Attribute Effects: Maxed - Increased player seperation, and hitting is toned-down

    Fatigue Effect: 2
    Fatigue Recovery: 1
These fatigue settings both distribute ice time appropriately between lines, and keep gameplay smooth.

    Injury Occurrence: 3

Puck Control: 3 - Helps to decrease that magnetic puck feeling, works in accordance with the checking sliders.

    Player Acceleration: 2
AI Learning: 0 - Limits unnecessary and artificial boosting by AI.
CPU Difficulty Adjustment: 0 - Same as above.

CPU Strategy Adjustment: 3 - Teams change their strategies gradually based on how the game is going, just like in the NHL. If a team is down by 2 goals going into the 3rd, expect it to come out aggressively. Conversely, if a team has a late lead, expect it to be play more conservatively, dumping the puck in more and making safer line changes.

Human Strategy Adjustment: 3 (or 0 if you want to change strategies yourself)

    CPU Faceoff Difficulty: 4
    CPU Penalties: Maxed
    CPU Teammate Penalties: Maxed

    Pass Assist: 0
    Manual Passing: Off

    Pass Speed: 1
    Saucer Pass Speed: 0
These passing speeds work in accordance with game speed.

Pass Accuracy: 4 - Player attributes and game circumstances matter when passing! If you try passing through traffic with a scrub, expect bad things to happen.

    Pass Reception Ease: 0
Pass Interceptions: 0 - Helps reduce magnetic pucks

    Shot Accuracy: 1
    Shot Power: 4
    Slap Shot Accuracy: 2
    Slap Shot Power: 3
    One-Timer Accuracy: 1

    Hitting Assistance: 3
    Aggression: 5
Hitting Power: 1 - Hits are less overpowered

Stick Lift Effectiveness: Maxed - Helps create a sloppier game, and helps with stick-related penalties.

Poke Effectiveness: Maxed - Same as above.

    Goalie Passing: 1
    Goalie Cover Puck Frequency: 5
    Goalie Screen Effect: 2
    Goalie Reaction Speed: 3

I am going to see how they play on Be A GM though. I don't know why you woukd watch CPU vs CPU when NHL hockey is on TV every night. And I've never attempted coach mode.

Because playing against the AI gets boring after a while. There are a lot of other reasons why persons such as myself prefer to play the game this way. In BAGM mode for example, it's more rewarding to see how the team I construct plays; I prefer the managerial side.

True Broadcast Cam is also wonderful, and is hard to actually play in versus the AI, in my opinion.

        Try it some time.

I recently updated from NHL 2014, with all the revamped rosters/sliders etc.. it was playing extremely well, NHL 2015 was on sale for $24 on the PS Store so I grabbed it....I will be inputting your sliders shortly, could you suggest or steer me to the rosters you are using?

Unfortunately, custom rosters are not supported this year, so I'm using EA's latest roster update.

Oh man. Thank you so much! Not that I have tried these yet, but I absolutely LOVED your sliders from last years game, it was literally like picking up and playing a brand new (and better) game. I was using those same ones as a guide for this years and I just found myself frustrated with not the results, but the gameplay itself. Just put these in and will try them out right now.

Right off the bat I can say that I didn't like the 0 pass assist. Immediately I became scared to even try to pass on the rush, or enter the zone and pass back to the D because it would go all the way down the ice. But I do like the direction it's going in. So I bumped it up to 1 and suddenly am not terrified to only carry the puck.

Other than that I like it so far. Really love the feeling of the non magnetic puck! That would drive me wild before

Thank you so much for posting these! I started GM mode with Montreal and i'm getting great results so far. In first game we won Toronto 2-1 and in the second game we lost to Washington 4-2. The third game was against Philadelphia and we lost 6-0. Anyway thank you again for posting these great sliders and keep up the good work!

I would like Cycloniac's insiders on this.

We had always used the latest as each one came out as they usually get better. We found going to the options of gamestyle (arcade, simulation, hardcore) that even though hardcore is supposed to be the most realistic gameplay (and it is) that on arcade or simulation it frees the gameplay up with more loose pucks and on the ice feel. Theres is another way to get this when using the gamestyle hardcore (check on my sliders page or clarkies true broadcast for more info).

I looked into the 1.01 after seeing Cycloniac's sliders having 1.01 and what I found is the players block more shots (like hardcore gamestyle) and you can feel the weight of the players (which you do not on arcade or simulation).

Cycloniac's sliders brought some improvements to mine, with puck control at 3 and interceptions at 0 or low it helps with the magnetic feel of the puck. I added that to mine, good find/know. Go through the post on my sliders page and clarkies to see all the options.

What I went to is using the tuner 1.01, superstar, gamestyle hardcore, then adjusting all 3 sliders (penalty time scale, penalty occurrence, after the whistle rules) to something different then their preset defaults. This is what frees up the gameplay. Then adjusted sliders.

                        In terms of the tuners,
1.00-has a laggy feel in the skating
1.01-more blocking by players and you can feel the weight to players.
                        1.02-more smooth and easier passing

It gives several options by picking what you like from each category.

That's basically true. v1.00 was really laggy; I didn't spend alot of time testing this tuner. v1.01 played best with the fundemental set that I had prepared, so I went with that.

I can't really comment further because I haven't played NHL in a while, since 2k released their latest patch. Dragon Age: Inquisition is also now in my rotation. To be honest, I doubt I'll be playing NHL until EA updates their ratings. I get sick to my stomach seeing guys like Forsberg, Gaudreau and Olli Jokinen with their current ratings, and even sicker knowing that I can't adjust them myself.

Their always behind on updating the younger players/prospects. Can at last create the those players to get their attributes correct (even though their already in system just put them on country teams).

As you say. I like the physical feel of the players in 1.01 and in 1.00. In "latest" it doesnt feel like they skate on the ice, more like slightly above it.
