    Hows your Association going?

Or is their anyone even playing Association on last gen consoles, with the incompetence of the NBA2k crew not fixing Draft Classes?

I had been waiting hoping they would fix it, but I think were SOL, which is awful darn sleezy of them to do, although I guess I shouldnt be surprised considering how NBA2k team does things the past few years.

Im planning on starting my Association with the Pacers tonight since I think were SOL on getting generated Draft Classes fixed. In the past I have always used roles, but a while back I decided to run a test just to see if they happened to fix the issue with players being upset all the time, although I figured they hadnt since its been a issue for years now, and it was actually worse this yr than its ever been.

With 2k jacking up ratings for bench guys and scrubs this yr it dont take long before half your team is wanting traded, so you dont really have much choice but to turn off roles.

In the past I always edited my own roster and lowered ratings down so guys that were bench warmers IRL were constantly demanding a better role, and to be traded, but I just dont have the energy this yr to do as much eiditng as it would take to fix this issue. In the past I was able to get it down to where only the real pricks like JR Smith, Kenyon Martine, etc would be ticked off to where they wanted traded, but it would take weeks and weeks for me to do fix this issue, and then I would have to work on sliders to get gameplay right, and I dont want to do that. I actually have the game playing great with my sliders and I dont want to have spend time getting sliders right.

Not really much to choose from in Draft Classes, but I did find 1 which I think the guys name is INKompleteBeatz, and its not bad, other than it dont have the full 80 real life draft prospects. Im going to just use that one, and as I play thru my Association I will finish out the draft class.

The way I play is I play every game, and 12 minute qtrs, I have always been one who has to play with realism, dont know how anyone can enjoy basketball playing less than the actuall 48 minutes, but whatever.

I will use 30 team control but only play with the Pacers that way I can keep lineups right for all teams and keep dumb moves by the AI from happening since the 2k devs do such a bad job at this aspect.

Plus since I wont be using roles thi syear for once, Im going to keep guys that are injured IRL out. Which means I will start the season shorthanded with the Pacers, and wont have PG all yr unless he makes a miraclous recovery from the broken leg, although I dont see that happening, I think Bird will just hold him out rather than risk his future.

Should be interesting playing this way with all the injuries to the Pacers, so I should have quite the challenge on my hands. Hoping to get atelast 1 game in tonight once I get all the teams rotations set.

    Re: Hows your Association going?

Well I think I done with NBA2k and even the PS3 altogether. Really considering going too PC gaming.

I think since my health has went all to hell gaming has not been as much fun, just harder for me to concentrate because of pain, along with pain meds, that Im just losing interest in playing. Still enjoy playing, and what I will miss most is MLBTS, but that OOTP baseball game on the PC I know is amzing, and I think Im going to have to go to more of text sim based games anyway.

So it looks like my Association is done before it really got started, lol. I definitely wont miss having to try an sypher thru the lies that the NBA2k guys give out yearly, by going to the PC. Heck I think even the PC NBA2k players are able to mode that game and fix what the incompetent people at 2k cant seem to do from my understanding. Although I doubt I give 2k anymore money to buy a PC game, probably will just go with a text sim their as well. I think DD college basketball is a solid game to play, as I have played it a few years back.

So hopefully this is it for this crap game, if Im able to get the right PC, or beef up my wifes PC to the specs I need.

I was thinking of starting one this week, but am not sure which team I want to use. I'm not a die-hard fan of any NBA team, although I do root for the Nuggets since I live in CO, so perhaps I'll use them and see if I can survive in the Western Conference.

Chase, what roster are you using? I haven't really bothered to look at 2K Share much, so not sure what's available to us in terms of good user-generated content. Any certain gameplay settings/sliders you suggest? I've just been playing All-Star/Simulation when I actually have time to play the game.

I doubt there is any good rosters available for the PS3 anyway, which is what I have. AS sim is what I use with some tweaks to it. Mainly to tendencies, fouls and passing to get more realism. Other than those sliders everything else is pretty good on sim settings. I have some other minor tweaks, but nothing major.

I think all the good roster makers and DC makers went to the new consoles, so its pretty bare on 2k share except for junk roster files, like guys making everyone 5'3, some people I just have to smh at that do stupid stuff with rosters, lol.

Personally I use my own rosters, as for the past few years 2k share has been glitched up and the NBA2k devs continue to ignore the issues with it. I just dont trust that getting a roster file off their wont end up causing glitches in my Association. I do use Custom DC's cause I dont want to make those and Im not good with faces anyway, and I havent had any issue with DC's off of 2k share over the years, just rosters.

I actually started an association with 2k14.. Found a pretty good set of rosters and have been having fun..

I did a fantasy draft association for about a year but forgot to turn player roles off at the beginning so it was a disaster.

I started a new one with the Bucks yesterday, really like that young core there and figured it would be fun. I'm 3-4 right now and got beat by 24 last night by the Knicks. I usually play 2-3 games a month just so I can get through multiple seasons

Yeah, I wish, but Im really noticing with my health issues that its getting harder for me concentrate at the level I need to play the way I have in the past. Its not as bad with basketball as it is Football and Baseball is a real struggle for me trying to hit on MLBTS. I think the combo of pain, and all the pain meds Im on has gotten the best of me and my gaming. Not sure I would want my wife to spend the money buying me a PS4 when I dont know how much longer I will play it. Cause if I cant play MLBTS its just not worth me having a expensive console, unlike MLBTS I wont by a new console for just NBA2k, since they are full of lies and scams, dotn have much respect for them after all the lies and BS they have told. EA has past them up on the list of devs with morals, they just put out a 3rd patch for Madden on the old console, you wont see NBA2k do that for old console, considerign they didnt do it last yr. IM sure next gen is better, but they have lost my respect.

I hate to say it, but Im afraid text sims might be what I have to live with, if I find a good basketball game. Seems they are all junk, and I really want a college text sim as I like college more than pros anyway. I wish they could get the AS into remission an mybe I would feel better cause I love sprts games on consoles, but its not going well. I think I told you before I had crappy insurance, well they wotn pay for what I need, which is transfusions, and our wonderful government obviously wont help, and Ill leave it at that, cause we know free speech isnt allowed here or anywhere anymore, lol.

Hope all is good with you!

                    Praying for you, caseIH!!!

I'm still playing 2K14 with the Timberwolves. I tore apart their roster and tanked 76ers style. I played all the games, and ended up 2-12 with wins over the Pelicans and Suns. My roster was:
                    Seth Curry/Greene
                    English/Snell
                    Muhammad/Karasev
                    Bennett/ ?
                    Biomboyo/Dieng

I got the fourth overall pick despite having the worst record in the league. Jabarai Parker fell to me tho, so I wasn't upset. With the 17th pick I snagged Gary Harris

I didn't sign anyone in FA because Ill need the money to resign my young players. I'm planning on building around a Curry-Parker-Bennett core with Shubazz as my sixth man. This year, I plan to suck again so I can get a good player in the draft such as Okafor, who is friends with Jabarai!

                      Hows your Association going?

Playing with updated rosters on 2k14, didn't think 2k15 was worth it.

Anyway, started a franchise with the Bucks. I like defense, Larry Sanders and I'm intrigued by antetokumpo so I went with them..

                      2014
-First season was rocky, only won about 24 games I believe
                      -Nba finals: Thunder
                      -MVPerrick Rose
-Jabari Parker won rookie of the year for me.
-I got the fourth pick in the draft, Towns and Okafor and someone else went 1-2-3. Somehow Emmanuel Mudiay fell to me.
-I resigned most of everybody in the the offseason and decided to start Mudiay at the 2, having OJ Mayo come off the bench.

                      2015
-big improvement on the year, won 45 games or so and grabbed the 7th seed in the playoffs..
-Emmanuel Mudiay won rookie of the year so that makes 2 in a row for my Bucks (he put up about 13 ppg, 6 reb, 6 assists).
-first round of the playoffs I faced off against Lebron and Cleveland who had the 2nd seed.. We put up a damn good battle forcing a game seven, unfortunately I took the worst beating I've ever played in 2k.. Lebron put up 38 and they beat me 101-67 to end my season
-Bulls won the finals and D Rose won MVP on the season again.
-Jabari Parker and Brandon Knight were my leading scorers at about 19 a game a piece..

Now Here's where it gets exciting

                      2016
-After getting knocked out of the first round I had the 18th pick in the draft. I wasn't expecting anything big, but I hit the freaking diamond mine.
-I scouted a 7 foot 245 pound center named Jeffrey Chapman, I don't know how but be was still around at 18th.. Dude is. 79 overall, B offense and B+ post defense with 99 dunking (79ovr).
-Mudiay progressed to an 87 in the offseason making him my best rated player.
-my team is poised for a pretty good playoff run this 3rd year and I let Jason Kidd walk, replacing him with a much better coach.
-Through 15 games I'm 10-5 and here is my lineup with some stats.

                      PG- Brandon Knight 84ovr 18ppg, 6ast
                      SG-Emmanuel Mudiay 87ovr, 19ppg, 6reb, 6ast
                      SF-Jabari Parker 85ovr, 18ppg, 8reb
                      PF-John Henson 80ovr, 9ppg, 10reb
                      C-Jeffrey Chapman 80ovr, 11ppg, 9reb
                      6th man-antetokumpo 81ovr, 9ppg
                      C-Larry sanders 80ovr, 8pts, 8reb

                      Loving my squawddd

-Btw I play on hall of fame with some pretty damn difficult sliders, if I don't play focused and make smart plays I get beat bad..
-I have house rules, I refuse to run fast break all game because it just gets too easy, I stay away completely from trading and didn't expect to have this solid of a team this fast, things just kind of worked out..

Wish me luck this year, I say we make it to the semi finals against a very very very tough Bulls team who I have yet to beat in a user game (I play about 15-20 games a year personally). This team is extremely entertaining to play with, every single player is a threat and when they are all playing together I feel like I can't be stopped. Just need to get some consistency.

                        Re: Hows your Association going?

What's the deal with A.I? The CPU still plays with 100% awareness while my team gives it away on very specific plays. It takes some really heavy tweaking to make the game competitive without making it so easy you win every game. STILL my players will do things like totally ignoring a play in the last few seconds!! Or they'll just stop right in the middle of the play forcing me to take the most (((impossible)))) shot for the win.

What's the point of having a great gaming experience only to have it end so ridiculously cheesy? Anybody think they're ever going to change the practice of dumming down your USER teammates to simulate difficulty that's not actually there?

                          Re: Hows your Association going?

Hey guys. I need your opinions.
                          Iwas wondering...

I'm playing Association. I'm on my 3rd season. I have gotten better in my 3rd season than my 2nd season in terms of FG% and 3pt FG%. However, the opponent AI has also gotten better. I basically have to have high-% games to pull away and win against the AI. Opponent AI has gotten a lot better and have shot higher % than last season.

So, I'm asking does the opponent AI "follow" you? I'm 14-0 in my 3rd season. I have NOT rage-quitted any losses and re-played the games to maintain such record. I know I look like a spoiled whiny brat for being 14-0 and complaining about the AI but I'm just curious. I play defense the same way. It's not like I drastically sucked at D over night.

I compared my %s of this season with last season and i see increases. I'm on the same difficulty level (all star) but the opponent AI has raised their FG% and shoots ridiculous %s like 58% or 59% sometimes. It's not like I raised the diff level from all star to superstar.

I'm wondering if anyone has any insight. That as I get better, the AI gets better to match me and keep me entertained. I'm kinda talking about rubberbanding but not really. It's not rubberbanding exactly because I'm not leading then they make a comeback. It's just basically I find the opponent AI shooting FG%s of like 58 and 59%. However last season, it wasn't like that. It only got better this season as I got better.

Not all games the opponent AI has 58% or 59% field goals. But it happens sometimes so I'm curious

                            Re: Hows your Association going?

I'm still on 2K14. I was satisfied with a roster and slider I found on OS.

I think I posted back in the 2K14 thread about it, but I did a fantasy draft with the Grizzlies. It was originally the Bucks I believe, but for some reason I just wanted to play as the Grizzlies. The only reason I didn't originally choose the Grizzlies was that I always play as them in every 2K fantasy association haha.

So I kind of made some trades because I really wanted to play with Kawhi Leonard, but I also wanted to play with Mike Conley. I saw a video of the 2K15 fantasy draft (on next gen, if it matters) and Mike Conley was actually a 2nd round pick there, so I felt like getting Kawhi and Conley weren't that bad of a stretch.

But I also really wanted Larry Sanders, which was probably pretty unfair because I think he's a 2nd rounder, not a 3rd. For a sixth man I traded picks and players away for Trey Burke, one of my favorite young point guards.

                            So here's my team:

                            PG: Mike Conley, Trey Burke
SG: Andre Iguodala, Ben McLemore, Jamaal Franklin (I'm a SDSU fan lol)
SF: Kawhi Leonard, Nik Stauskas, Glenn Robinson (and a Michigan fan lol)
PF: Amar'e Stoudamire, Tyler Hansborough, Mason Plumlee, Mitch McGary
C: Larry Sanders, Steven Adams, Gorgui Dieng

My reserves are usually Franklin, Robinson, and McGary. I picked up those last two mostly because they were just sitting in free agency and I almost wanted an all-Michigan bench (if I traded for Hardaway Jr.). I usually swap Dieng and Franklin a lot, depending on if we're playing back-to-backs and my bigs are tired, and also depending on if we're matching up with a physical team.

I'm planning to play somewhere around 75% of the games (82-game season). I started the season 0-5 and was pretty annoyed. I played all 5 of those games myself. Then, somehow, I rattled off 5 straight and had a pretty good November. Currently, our record is 29-9, with me simming about 10 of those games because they were against boring teams.

We had a 11-game winning streak before I lost it on a last-second shot

With the All-Star break approaching, I'm most likely going to be simming a lot of the remaining games to get to the playoffs. The team is performing well. I find that the only times I lose are when Mike Conley has a bad game. Kawhi rarely has bad games because his jumpers are so nice for me. Conley is no doubt one of my top 5 players in the NBA, so I really enjoy using him. But I have those days where I can't get anything going and end up with double-digit turnovers. I also struggle with defending the star athletic point guards (Rose, Westbrook, Wall) unless I just give them jumpshots.

Conley is curently averaging 19.4ppg 9.6apg. My goal is to get him to 20 and 10, which shouldn't be hard considering he's been putting up monster assist numbers recently (my last game was 29 and 15 in a win).

Kawhi is averaging 19.6ppg and 6.5rpg. No doubt he is the biggest scorer for the team, as he's had multiple 30-point games but I think 29 was Conley's highest.

Amar'e is also having a nice rejuvenation. I use him a lot like he was used with Nash in Phoenix. Iggy also has his really good games (averaging 13 ppg). When his green light is on, I just let him take over games, but he isn't really consistent.

Grizzlies are my second favorite team in the NBA after the Lakers, so I'm hoping to get them to the finals, even though it is a fantasy draft.

I'm late to the party then . I'm playing 2k11 an the LA Lakers. We're 4-0 also doing a 50+ game season. tied with PHX for first place i actually hope i can finish a season.

                              Association settings

                              Player Quarter Length: 6 Minutes
                              CPU Quarter Length: 12 Minutes
                              Season Length: 50+ games
Playoff Format & games all rounds

I was trying to get Stefon Curry but found out that the Lakers are over the cap limit. So i guess i can't make any roster moves which sucks.
