Dodgers open to trading Dee Gordon.............ughhhhhhh I hope we keep him. He turned it around for us last year. If it happens I think Alex Guerrero moves back to SS and Darwin Barney/Justin Turner split time at 2B if we don't get a SS.

Re: 2014-15 Hot Stove League Thread

Yeah, it makes a lot of sense to sign Ross to be Lester's personal caddy and hit LHPs while Montero can frame pitches and mash RHPs.

Both catchers combined will make $2-3MM less per year than Russell Martin and Montero is left-handed and 6 months younger than Martin.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

I never bought for a second that Sabean was going to throw big money and years at Lester. Once it went beyond 5 years, I'm sure they started going heavy with the "we win titles, pitchers ballpark" pitch to get him to take less.Comment

Oh god I'm scared. I'm starting to become hopeful that we'll pull it off and get Lester to Chicago...It's going to hurt when he spurns us.NFL: Bills

I think Cubs: 50%, Red Sox: 40%, Other (Dodgers/Giants/Yankees): 10% is about where it stands on Lester.Last edited by WaitTilNextYear; 12-09-2014, 07:03 PM.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

I think last year was kind of a peak for Dee. I wouldn't trade him just to trade him, but if we get a nice return then yes.

Re: 2014-15 Hot Stove League Thread

Possibly fake tweets at it again. Incarcerated Bob tweeted that a source from IGN was saying Lester has decided to sign with Chicago.

Suddenly everyone is saying that WGN tweeted it themselves and then deleted it.

Frank Pimental tweeted that it was a done deal but has also since deleted it and has now tweeted an apology, saying the signing has not been made yet.NFL: Bills

Re: 2014-15 Hot Stove League Thread

They are trying to get rid of him while his value is high. Not sure where he would end up. TB, AZ, TOR, NYY (if they don't re-sign Headley), CWS, OAK, WAS. All have pitching we could use. I just don't see it happening, but stranger things have happened.

This may very well be a case where the Dodgers are throwing his name out there to see how much teams value him.Last edited by ShowTyme15; 12-09-2014, 09:09 PM.Comment
