I notice NBA 2K14 shoe models are better than NBA 2K15

I was just thinking how great the shoe models were on NBA 2K14 every shoe model was on point. This year it seem like 2K took a step back in this departed, some shoes are on point like the "Kobe 9 high tops". Then the rest are like ehh, their good but just not 2K14 quality. I know to some this may not be important but coming from a sneakerhead I want all the kicks on point in 2K. Because I know it's possible with the next gen tech. Hopefully they can scan the shoes in and 2K16 like how they do face scanning. One can only dream

Well when you say things like "the rest are like ehh, their good but just not 2K14 quality" you're not really saying much. Want to expand a little bit? Maybe put up some pictures? I personally don't have an issue with the shoes this year.

I hate the way most look painted on and have no dimension to them like in Live. Not to mention the "2K boot" thing which makes all the shoes structure look the same. I mean I understand that on last-gen, but is there really excuse for shoes to look painted on, on current-gen?

I made some quick examples so everybody who read this thread can see for themselves because it's very self explanatory in my opinion. You can see how 2K did some will say "lazy" job on the shoes for 2K15 look at the nike logo how it's warp ehh smh. Don't get me wrong 2K15 do have some shoes that are good but the majority of them ehh. 2K14 did a better job.

Nah, I definitely notice. The details are way worse this year and the retros look garbage because for some reason every shoe has a gap in the midsole at the bottom.

EDIT: Let me add this is a big reason why I'm turned off from the shoes this year and partly MyCareer. Last year I could sit for hours and recreate retros and such and now they look like trash..

2K needs to scan shoes into the game like they do with players. NBA Live did that this year. 2K's player models are great so I would expect shoes to follow.

The shoes are completely flat, there's nothing 3d about it like real life... I'm not saying make it 100 different layers and 3d textures, but for frigs sake when it's just a flat piece look like it was made in microsoft

i really find it hard to believe that most people don't seem to be bothered by this

I'm a sneakerhead and 2k definitely needs to step their shoe game up. Live have always been better than 2k in this aspect. Before anyone jumps out there saying who cares, please realize sneakers are a huge part of the NBA culture. Just look at Kicks on Court. I truly hope 2K gets to the level in detail of kicks displayed in Live. When I saw their sneaker blog, I was kinda of jealous.

Lastly, please, please give us the option to pick a home and away shoe. This is loooooong overdue.

Yes the shoe game in 2k is weak, and it pretty much always has been, but I apprecitate the love they do show the shoes as in having a shoe creator in the game, tho flawed its under appreciated, and as far as Live goes they have the better looking shoe true, but with no edit player feature to put whatever shoes you want on players or shoe customization in general the detailed shoes are almost like a tease in the game IMO.

I said it before in this thread i'll say it again 2K getting to comfy with that lead they have in sports basketball gaming. smh
