Re: 2014-15 Hot Stove League Thread
I want to see the Phillies unload Rollins, Utley, and Hamels all to LA in one fell swoop. That would be intense. Hard to say what Friedman will do with a BUDGET.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2014-15 Hot Stove League Thread
They're between a rock and a hard place. They know they have a 4 year window of opportunity and need to show Giancarlo that they're in it to win it. I think it's giving up way too much for the present but it's still a young team. I THINK they can get away with it. I've heard they're chasing Morneau and Morse as well.
That would be an astute signing there, flyball pitcher in a pitcher friendly park. I expect him to put up better numbers in Minny.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Why? I don't think Heaney is THAT good. They need speed, especially with the ballpark they have.
Personally I believe Nicolino and German are the better pitching prospects they have.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

That's the problem with breathlessly reporting every update on MLBTR in here--lots of those insider tweets end up being wrong or incomplete. It's hard to fault the excitement though. Best quote I've seen all day.
Trading a player & agreeing to pay his $10M salary, while knowing there's a good chance you'll pay nothing, is as Andrew Friedman as it gets.
