    Oddball recruits

I know an overwhelming number of you guys prefer the real named players when starting dynasties.

Had a QB named Richard Lovelady. Just loved that name. He started too.

I thought this thread was going to be about the prevalence of 6'5" safeties and 6'1", 220 lb DEs....or the 230lb speed backs and 180lb power backs.

LOL...I was thinking anticipating this as well.

Concerning the OP, I have had some of those names, yes. Also, some names of prominent psychologists as well as names of guys I went to high school with.

Bill Madison is my starting running back right now as a redshirt senior.

He might have gotten more playing time earlier in his career, but I just couldn't take him seriously. In fact, he's still splitting time with 4 other backs because of that.

I also had a "Charles Charles" at HB when my coach took a HC position at North Texas.

Not my yak but this was several years back from someone else.

Joseph Smith of Brigham City, UT committed to BYU.

I saw UNLV land a commit from a skinny 5'10" white quarterback from Tampa, FL.

              Named Warren Sapp.

And safety Martin Luther went to Notre Dame.
              Alumnus:
              - Northern Arizona University
              - University of North Texas

              My teams:
NFL - Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals
NCAAF/B - Arizona Wildcats, Northern Arizona Lumberjacks, North Texas Mean Green

I find it amusing that the OS icon for NAU is 20 years (and three rebrands!) out of date.

I recruited a QB named Robert Roberts at Wake Forest. Left to take Maryland job. Four years later I faced the heisman winning Roberts in the title game and he beat the snot out of me

I got Jon Lester in an older game a few years back. Even more ironic considering he was from Boston.
Needless to say I was able to recruit him to BC no sweat....

I also seem to recall seeing Sam Smith one time, and I know I've gotten people with the same first and last names, like Lucas Lucas or James James...

I wish the cpu would create samoan/hawaiian recruits. There are so many players in the nfl and collge with last names like Havili, Mariota, Telemaiavao, and so forth.

And I'm not trolling or trying to offend anyone I just think that makes recruits more authentic if you see players with names like this.

Played Miami for the BCS title in year 2022. They had a 5'11" 201lbs receiver named "Ray Lewis." I played it off as Ray's son. He was a 97ovr so I knew he would be on my Madden draft file so I added "Jr." at the end to make it real.
Relax, it's just a video game!
