NBA LEGACY Roster for NBA 2k15(XboxOne)

Sellaz and Myself have decided to Carry the LEGACY Project OVER to the NBA.

The Focus of the Roster will be to have the Top Teams from the 80s and 90s ERA of NBA Basketball. We also mixed in some teams we felt USERs would enjoy.

GAMEPLAY is the #1 Goal of Roster

***We are TRYING to Avoid Duplicate Players as MUCH as Possible in the Roster***

After lots of thought and deliberation, we have decided to expand and divide this project into 2 rosters. The first one, The NBA Legacy Elite Teams, will include great teams from each franchise post 1980. As you will notice, some franchises have more than one team, given their status as an elite franchise. The second roster, (name to be announced), will include more great teams including some average teams with great players. These teams we think will be fun to play with, even though they may have not been great on paper. We will share initial teams for that list, but there are still slots available and we are open to suggestions. The team selection process included taking into account the team’s record, reputation, and team slot availability. In a couple cases, we went with what we thought was the better team, even though they may not have won the championship. (2006 Pistons over 2004 Pistons)

You will notice a few teams that could have been included on the Elite list (i.e. 2009 Cavs, 2008 Celtics) but didn’t because key players were needed on a better team and I wanted to avoid using CAPs for such players. The use of CAPs will be unavoidable in some cases. (Such as Garnett being on 3 teams.) We will use look a likes when appropriate, but given improvements in the CAP system, that will be done case by case. In many cases we will use generic players for the 13th man. (IMO, there is no need to put time and energy into a player who never plays) We understand that doing 2 versions cuts down some on matchups, but you gain more teams this way. There has already been a ton of progress on CAPs, but we are still trying to nail down some gameplay elements since the last patch. We DO feel the project will move quicker than NCAA Legacy given there is no need to spend time creating jerseys and dealing with RED MC freeze issues. Here are the team lists:

This roster will consist of CAPs and look a likes that will be handled case by case. (Really missing the RED MC options btw). Unfortunately, the CAP system is great for some players and terrible for others. Also lacking the ability to share custom shoe colors bothers me but I guess I will get over it..lol.

Here are couple of my caps so far...

I'd like to suggest 91-92 Knicks over 94-95 Knicks. Mark Jackson and Xavier McDaniel > Charles Smith and Doc Rivers. Much better team overall, only team to take a Championship Bulls team to 7 games.

The 98 Pacers took the Bulls to 7 games, too.

We will take a Serious look at that Team. One reason i personally avoided them was Mark Jackson, as he will be on the Pacers as well.

I should say, I meant Derek Harper rather than Doc Rivers.

I just loved Xavier McDaniel on the Knicks. That 91-92 team was the best Patrick Ewing-era Knicks team, bar none.

They are listed on there. We will use them over the 85 Sixers slot. The 84 Knicks will replace 72 Knicks.

Our original plan was to do 2 projects, with 2 fairly distinct eras. 80's/90's and then 2000 to present day. The more I think about though it MIGHT be better to do some mixing and matching given the limited number of CFs for certain players. That way I wouldn't have to create some extra players such as Ewing, Mullin, Oakley, etc. I still need to discuss with vtcrb, but also open to suggestions on how to go about it. It would be nice if there was some underlying theme with each roster...such as a champions edition and a great non champions edition. I don't know...just thinking out loud here.

Suggestion: Best teams to never win a championship
Examples: 1984 Lakers, 1988 Pistons, 2007 Mavs, 2005 Suns, etc.
“Better learn not to talk to me. You shake the tree, a leopard’s gonna fall out.”
                        - Aimed at JR Smith, who had directed some choice words at Bryant during a 2008 Lakers-Nuggets playoff game. Kobe finished with 49 points and 10 assists.

Great idea...actually may go with 91-92 as they had a slightly better record.
