Best 2K15 Offense for MyCareer, MyTeam, Online+Offline "Freelance POE Smart-Plays"

    - This saved MyCareer for me because my teammates don't play nearly as dumb anymore; it makes us play like a TEAM with plays that make SENSE.

    - Good for online because it keeps my offense organized and solves the disadvantage of not being able to customize a playbook.

    - And Offline it takes the cake, it just runs beautifully via the triangle and pace offense when matched with the PLAY THROUGH POE and a solid manual playbook.

Let me know if it worked for you and which POE's you guys tried it with:

Let's also thank Da_Czar for making this possible in the first place ^^

    This is awesome.

I've been trying to figure out how to initiate more diverse action through the freelance offenses, and this is it. Thank you!

I only wish 2K had just TOLD us this. There are so many great tricks/subtleties in the game design that they don't even tell us about, and frankly they enhance the experience so much.

Hopefully we're building toward the ability to have truly dynamic, read/react offenses. NBA offenses have evolved lately to incorporate a lot more movement--think about how teams like Dallas or GSW use horizontal motion on the perimeter to confuse the defense and basically set up pick and rolls for guys who are moving full speed before they even possess the ball.

My question would be how to make this effective in my career if ur not a point guard. Only point guards can change offensive sets and call plays. If u figure out how to make this work for all positions count me in. I currently play with a shooting guard.

I kind of realised about this after I started my 2nd season in MyCareer and my Lakers were playing like trash, as well a the Orlando Magic did the previous year. I started to use the 2k smart play a lot more, along with certain manual plays that I saw that were effective. For instance, there's a certain play (3-1 or sth like that) where Kobe gets an iso in the post and does what he does best. After a few times using this, the offence flows better and it definitely improves team efficiency.

However, people who is not a PG can't use this unless they have On-Court coach, which they will only have after at least the first season saving VC (or if they spend money on VC) to max out shooting and handling. That's one of the reasons why people tend to play only PG, because they always have control of the plays from day 1. When being SG to C, you depend of what your team mates give you or what coach wants (using auto plays), which isn't usually the best. I hope 2k can improve this for 2k16.

On Court Coach is your savior. 18 in outside shooting and playmaking.
          2k16 My Team:

          PG: CP3, John Wall, Kyrie
          SG:Klay Thompson, D.Wade, Kobe

I agree with you on 2K not elaborating on their features; I mean there's great stuff there to be utilized so why won't they just tell us ? Lol is kinda weird.. Why would they avoid doing this ? I mean it took me like 60 games to figure this out on my own

So I'm assuming On Court Coach actually works this year? Because last year it did nothing which made me quit playing the mode since it cost 10k VC.

Yes, smart plays smash with the right manual plays is insane. I suggest start with smart play and use a quick manual play as your bail out

Was this really in before the patch? I had noticed you could sometimes get triangle plays when pressing smart play but not to this extent. Now it seems it will always call them. That's great. Another weapon to the arsenal.

Assuming you want to put in the 80k? needed for 20 in outside and 20 in playmaking you'll get on-court coach and I think you may be able to call some plays, I'm not really sure since I'm already a point guard and very rarely play out of position. It may be that you need the ball to be able to call a play.

However otherwise the ability seems to be nerfed a lot. Even with the skill I can't make my teammates shoot immediately when wide open. The badge flashes but nothing happens for a second or two. Same with asking for a pass. Big men often won't give it to you after an offensive board but try for a layup (which they miss most of the time on HOF) and some players (Harden) don't always want to pass the ball to you.

OCC works for non-PGs, you can call for the ball and call plays, but it's not as effective as people make it seem. Since you don't get the 'Play Initiator' option you have to call for the ball and wait for the pass(2-5 seconds usually), then you have to pick your play and wait for it to set up and that doesn't always work and when they do set up there isn't much time left on the shot clock to execute properly. And in my MC, my teammates have played worse since I've gotten OCC and Floor General, I pass them the ball(Dimer) and they're wide open the brick the shot or just plain don't take it.

Makes it sound like OCC isn't worth it if you're not a PG, and even then the benefits are negligible. Although other players do pass the ball to you more often when you call for it than they did before (especially Harden who would on some possessions in the clutch be determined to do a 20 second iso, maybe realistic but not useful when I could call a play for him to get open and get us a better chance to win).

It's also immensely costly this year. 20/20 in outside/playmaking (or something close to that, cost being 80k+ VC) may be a good choice for a PG and you can make that argument as a SG/SF but then you get into PF/C at which point having to spend that many points takes away from everything else and it's not really optional to get the ball to call something. I already thought it cost too much last year (upgrading emotion to 90 and then paying 10k, so it was 20k+). I think it was just 2,5k the year before that. So that's 30 times more costly now than it was just a couple years ago, with the ability actually being less useful.

I didn't really notice a difference with having dimer and not, having floor general and not and having on-court coach and not. Maybe they do contribute to success, but it's hard to tell without having a way to turn them all off. On a lot of the games my teammates will go completely cold from outside. It's still common to see Harden and Ariza go combined 2/12 from 3pt line, shooting only wide open shots. At that point I'll be racking up points by attacking off the p&r and sadly the opposing AI gets smart and collapses to the paint leaving my ice cold teammates wide open.

I had Dimer before I had Floor General, I was averaging 11.7 APG the months before(Oct.-Dec.) and I was averaging 9.6 APG for the month(Jan.) after and I've been averaging 8.4 APG in the months(Feb.-Apr.) after getting OCC.

Does this only work with Pace and Triangle?

When I tried this with Swing, it usually resulted in an actual play call, although rarely would call a freelance option play.

It works with swing, unfortunately there are nearly not enough plays for every situation for that yet so the game is forced to use plays from your normal playbook.
