    The Need for Custom Music

This year's NHL-game has its issues and lacks certain things, but the main problem with it is the lack of customization. One particular feature that was a bright spot for the franchise in years past was the ability to add custom music.

Simply watch these videos showcasing my music pack, and listen to the difference in the atmosphere.

Bring this feature back EA. The game just isn't the same without it.

your music pack is far authentic than EA! Especially the goal horns of every team.

One thing that isn't in EA's power. Take it up with MS and Sony.

        Not true.

Sony added the functionality to store music on hard drives with update 2.0.

Sorry. Check your facts, bud. Only to a USB drive not on the HDD of the PS4 itself, which is what games would need to play "custom" music like what you are speaking of.

With this update, we’ve added a Players You May Know tile, the ability to listen to your music while gaming, the option to change the look of your PS4 experience, and easier ways to sort and filter your library of content on PS4.

"USB Music Player: PS4 owners can play their own music in the background while playing a game using USB Music Player*. After inserting a USB stick loaded with music into the PS4, a new option for USB Music Player will appear. Supported filename extensions include MP3, MP4, M4A, and 3GP."

            My mistake.

Even so, it would still be possible to use the music from the USB drive, theoretically, if Sony added the ability to make playlists like in the past.

Yeah, but it is still dependent upon Sony to do anything first. Which they have dragged their feet over getting us to this point. Then we have to rely on EA handling it from there. Put it all together and it doesn't feel very close to becoming a reality anytime soon.

I agree though. I have been putting ditties into my NHL games since the late 90's. It was one of my favorite things to do on the PC version and then once we were able to do it for the console versions it was awesome as well. Ads so much to the game.

EA needs to pony up for every NHL teams goal songs. They could do without the music soundtrack they put in the game.

Regardless I would have bought NHL this year if it had custom music or at the very least Chelsea Dagger for my Hawks.

Exactly. The soundtrack only plays in-game anyway, and it gets stale SO fast.

That soundtrack they do could be ok for lobby/elevator/menu music.

Even if they did the goal songs, would they do them good enough. Might be better to have our own/real version anyways. Plus then all the music at rink would be on the same mp3 gain levels.

Theres so much they can do with the audio for other areas that arnt between whistles music/organ. Like make crowd, zamboni, etc things like that. Leave the music stuff to us. Somebody needs to crank their tail.

Rocky Wirtz does anything and everything, he should get these copyright crap signed off so the Madhouse on Madison can be in the game. There isint a better stadium.

I'd be in favor of custom music in NHL 16. More than zamboni racing.

This is one major reason why I have no intention of buying a PS4 at any time in the forseeable future. The sports games are actually a DOWNGRADE!
