Also I have created Jack Eichel and signed him;however, he will not play a single game this year and I will be trading him to whichever team has the #2 overall pick.. I would love maybe some ideas on how to do this fairly so the team with #2 doesnt get Eichel and the pick. Any ideas will help, hope you all enjoy the dynasty!!

Here's how I incorporated Jack Eichel and Noah Hanifin into the game...
At the draft, I traded Jack Eichel and Noah Hanifin for the second and third overall picks respectively. Then I would trade these picks to the next teams in the draft; in essence, moving the 4th and 5th place teams into the 2nd and 3rd overall draft slots. I would continue swapping draft picks for the entire first round, moving teams up one draft slot each. I did this for the entire first round, thus leaving me with the first two picks of the second round. I then decided to trade these picks to the two last place teams, as I figured they needed the most help and should stock prospects. It is time consuming, but it is really worth it to have the most realistic GM Mode as possible. If you can spare the time and effort, then this method is for you. Wouldn't really know how you would do it a different way. Hope this helps.

This sounds like the perfect idea, as I really want as realistic of a game as possible. Its a long season who knows I might end up with that second pick

It worked out perfectly for me as I actually got the second overall pick I my Buffalo Sabres dynasty if you are following it. It did make things a bit easier, and it made the draft a deeper all around draft like it is in real life. Good luck this season, I'll be following along.

                Notes from GM Jim Benning
Although Benning has made it clear he likes his roster going into the season, he has also stated he is "open to moving players early on if a competitive team is not playing night in and night out."

When asked about Horvat and Kassian Benning stated Horvat will be given every chance to show that he belongs in a bottom six role. Kassian will be given a shot in the top 6 but after that it is up to coach Willie to decide if he wants to keep him in that role, "Its all on Zack."

Canucks give up tying goal late but end up icing the flames early in OT!

Opening night was exactly what the Canucks were looking for... 2 points. Although they gave up the late goal in the 3rd to force overtime the final result was one in which the team was happy about. The Sedins and Vrbata were as lethal as they could be and should have easily put up a few more goals.

Their schedule continues with yet another Alberta team as the Canucks will be hosting the Edmonton Oilers for their home opener.
