Schools in your dyanasties that always become powerhouses
For me, every dynasty that I play Navy and Georgia Tech always end up in the top 5 in a couple of years.

I agree with your observations. Boise and Fresno sometimes do very well. -
Re: Schools in your dyanasties that always become powerhouses
It's because they are option heavy teams. Any school that hires a head coach with the Navy option playbook or the Georgia Tech flexbone playbook become dominate, because the option in the sim (computer simmed the games) environment is almost unstoppable.Comment

Re: Schools in your dyanasties that always become powerhouses
Sometimes I manually change their play style from option attack to something else. I'll also change the worst team (for me it was UTSA) to an option attack and watch how many seasons it takes them to turn to a top 5 program. (3 seasons for me)Go Big Red!!!Comment

Western Michigan was doing pretty strong in mine for a while, then died down.
This is my 5th season.

Re: Schools in your dyanasties that always become powerhouses
Northwestern always seems to get pretty good, but will finish 12-1 or 11-2 and not make a NCG.
I don't know why, but Appalachian State always does very well in my dynasties as a teambuilder sub. This has held true over the last 3 manifestations of the game and even with different teambuilder versions.
No variable that explains it:
I've subbed them for different teams.
Their recruiting pitches are realistic to start.
None of the other NC teams ever do too well.Comment

Way too many upsets in the game. Sometimes makes horrible teams relevant.Comment

Agree with the Navy/Army option bit. Kentucky is a powerhouse in mine and I'm in 2033 - yes they run option.
Funny Oklahome is always 95 and up.
In an effort to negate Navy/Army, I put them in the American conference with Air Force, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Temple and two other teams (can't remember of the top of my head). Kind of helps neutralize them a bit.Comment

Re: Schools in your dyanasties that always become powerhouses
Lately, since all I've done is promotion and relegation type setups, there are some random teams that come around and have hot streaks as well.
The Triple Option offenses always take off, but it's always neat to see those assistant coaches (after a good season) end up with head coaching gigs around the country. I think Alabama, Washington and Indiana are all running the Triple Option now.
Also, with my system, teams like Temple can have a few good seasons, and start climbing up the promotion ladder. They'll stall out for a year or two, but being able to build themselves up to a 5-star program helps them at least stay towards the middle Tiers, and maybe build for a Top Tier push.Comment

Re: Schools in your dyanasties that always become powerhouses
New Mexico is a 6 star and top 10 team (My coach spent 3 season there so I helped)
Middle Tenn St is a 5 star program and top 25 team for 10 seasons now, just moved to the AAC
On a funny side note; LSU is now a 2 star program and on their 3rd coach in 4 seasons. They have hired my DC the past 2 seasons. They have not won more than 3 games in 7 years. They were pulling in really good recruting classes but it was not equaling wins on the field.Relax, it's just a video game!Comment

Re: Schools in your dyanasties that always become powerhouses
Yeah usually in my dynasties G-Tech and Navy are dominant top 5 schools.
Northwestern surprisingly played back- to-back BCS title games being #1 undefeated Losing to my squad both in double overtime During the 2017 & 2018 seasons.
I wasn't expecting to see San Diego State, Georgia State, and Pitt crack to top 10 in 2021Comment

Re: Schools in your dyanasties that always become powerhouses
I'll echo seeing the option teams excel. In my dynasty, Georgia had a HC change pretty early on and running the option they have 6 NC's in 25 years, including 3 in the last 5 years. (and 9 of 25 SEC Championships)
Navy has also done well with 2 NC's and common contender. GT started off strong in my dynasty (winning 3 in the first 9 years) but they've dropped off the radar.
Ohio State is a ratings powerhouse (very high 90's) and put good seasons together, but has only managed one NC.NCAA FB 2003 - 2014 Dynasties
