never believe TMZ when it comes to sports....more than likely the middle of next week at the earliest (assuming the deal gets done) per ESPN and Sports Illustrated

The deal isn't done until there are signatures, but it looks like everything is agreed upon. It would make sense to get the signatures and announce an actual contract and date on SuperBowl Sunday.

^Word, this is tmz, they aren't the most credible source, i want this fight to happen and i honestly think it's gonna But tmz isn't good enough for me. When floyd mayweather, or espn or something like that says it, i'll believe it.

Wouldn't be surprised if some kind of announcement happens during the superbowl though.

            Maybe Floyd wants 65-35.

TMZ is absolutely a credible source. The only reason people think they aren't is because they're mainly a celebrity gossip site. ESPN uses TMZ sources in some of their reports, so if TMZ isn't credible, neither is ESPN.

Anyways, we've see this type of **** all the time.

"Lalalala, nothing to see here. Nothing's done."

Than a couple of days later, it's done. We don't know what's done and what isn't. Just because nothing is signed doesn't mean something isn't set up that all they have to do is put their signatures on it to finalize it.

It doesn't sound done to me, and that would be the case if it was finalized this afternoon. It was TMZ's decision to go with the headline grabber even acknowledging in the article that nothing was signed. And then you have Floyd's very contradictory Tweet.

Really sad that this fight has taken so long to materialize. Embarrassing to all parties involved.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Again, as I said, we see that stuff all the time. They want the fight announced on their terms.

If I was going to make the biggest announcement of my life and someone leaks it, I'm going to down play it and announce it on my terms later down the road.

Yeah, nobody ACTUALLY knows except the parties involved. But i will say, floyd loves doing this kind of thing and messing with the general public about who he's fighting. He usually never just straight up announces his opponent without letting some speculation build and rumors. Just like when he was actually fighting guerrero, he put up some comment saying devon alexander was probably who he was gonna fight, just to mess with people.

The motives of the parties involve have nothing to do with with TMZ's misleading headline of Mayweather Vs. Pacquiao DEAL DONE...Fight Set. They were trying get a jump on a scoop that hadn't yet materialized.

I just hope this one will push through this time. This thing is getting pretty old and the boxers are not getting any younger as well. I hope the frequent postponement of the fight is not because they want to tempt boxing fans into watching the fight for them to gain more profit. The more they postpone the fight, the more eager the fans get into paying huge money just to see 2 people punch each other on the face. Let's get this thing over with. We will never know who wins unless those 2 actually faced each other on the ring. Shold this "mega-fight" pushes through, the victor will surely leave a great legacy in the world of boxing. Wow, I thought this fight had become a lock. Are we back to square one...or square zero?

I think they were back from stage 0 but at least now they are on square 1 or 2.
