    Equipment Licenses

When I first got into The Show the lack of equipment licenses put me off a little bit. Being a seasoned NBA 2k player, licenses were a big deal for me and having the correct shoes really helped immerse me in the game. After a while I kinda forgot about it with The Show but hearing they've got equipment licenses for 15 was one of the biggest pluses for me.

From the fact sheet we know there's gonna be 4 different brands each for bats, batting gloves, fielding gloves and 3 for cleats and from the preview trailer we know Nike is in for the cleats and batting gloves.

What other brands do you think we'll see? I'm from the UK so not entirely familiar with some of the equipment brands for baseball. What ones do you guys wanna see included?

I'm guessing it could be different for the different items. For example, I would hope they have Louisville sluggers for the bats, but I'm not sure they make shoes. I'm also hoping Mizuno is one of brands. I would bet under armour is one of them and obviously Nike.

From the brands I know, hopefully something like:

        Cleats: Nike, Adidas, Under Armour
Batting gloves: Nike, Adidas, Franklin, Under Armour
Bats: Louisville Slugger, Marucci, Rawlings, Sam Bat
Fielding gloves: Wilson, Rawlings, Nike, Mizuno?

New Balance is more popular than Adidas, so for cleats I say Nike, New Balance, UA

I was thinking this as well, but I've never seen New Balance sponsor in any sports game. It doesn't really match their marketing strategy I don't think, unlike Nike, Jordan, Adidas, etc. I'd be very pleasantly surprised if NB did show up in MLB 15. Maybe we'll find out tomorrow.

I found it kind of ironic that you were put-off by a lack of real equipment in the game, yet go on to explain that you really wouldn't know what the real equipment would be anyway had it been in the game.

My best guess, and this is completely a guess. As far as batting gloves go, I would guess Nike, Franklin, UA, and Louisville. These seem to be the 4 most worn brands when I watch games on tv. Fielding gloves, Nike, Rawlings, Wilson, and Easton. Cleats, Nike, UA, and Addidas. Bats, I'm sure Louisville Slugger will be in there, as far as the rest, I don't know, I never really notice the bat brands. My big question with equipment, is will we be able to customize the equipment colors as in years past. I'm ocd about equipment, I change the batting glove colors based on home and away games. Dont judge.

Hahaha I know. I just find the generics an eye sore. Even if there were brands I wasn't entirely familiar with it's just a lot more aesthetically pleasing.

I hear ya. Was just bustin' your chops. I hope for more authentic gear in moving forward. I also hope that the catcher's equipment and the batter's shin guards actually have straps that look as though they are fastened to the player's body. I thought the jump to next gen would eliminate the nasty eyesores in those departments of the stiff but floating straps.

They added new shin guards and catchers gear. So the floating straps might be gone..........

True story, my wife got me a pair of running shoes: Skechers that are black, grey, and white with memory foam. They are awesome shoes and I actually like that they have a strong resemblance to a design the generic shoes in the game!

Floating straps was to prevent clipping, so that issue would have to be solved first (hopefully it was). In '14 If you switched to stirrups or high socks there was actually tight fitting straps, at least for batter shin guards.

I was about to come in here and mention this.

One thing I did notice is there was clipping with the straps on certain players in 14 though. The strap would go through the pant leg.

The way the straps look in show should be for the small shin guards. The straps should look like this:
