I'm with you ct but I think that 2k editor(which I loved) killed the jersey codes, etc. I think the NBA was really pissed a couple years back when people were able to hack the game and see uniforms, etc before the NBA officially released them. Think that's why 2k is all lockdown/control with NBA content.

Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure. -

Re: 5 New Uniforms & Jordan Melo M11 All-Star Added to NBA 2K15
Has anyone from 2K ever clarified over the past couple of years about why exactly new jerseys are roster-locked? I've been wracking my brain thinking about it and I honestly can't figure out the programming caveat of patching in the new jerseys using the same code used for the on-disc jerseys that can be used with any roster.
To extrapolate, for PC versions in the past I remember the file naming system for on-disc team jerseys was simple and made sense, to the point that you could almost guess what jersey each file corresponded to. Then I remember for last year the patched jerseys used a different naming scheme for the file names altogether for some odd reason. Why not just code in placeholder spaces for each team for about 5 or so jersey additions, then if and when a team releases a new jersey and 2K wants to add it in, they name it using the code already on the disc, but now the program can call the file because "if -> then" and all that jazz can run because the file is present.Last edited by TheLooseCannon; 02-10-2015, 04:05 AM.Comment

I can see why this was done last gen, with the jersey's being leaked. Simply put, if the NBA is pissed about what happened, then you eliminate the issue.
I would assume this isn't an issue for the current gen systems though...Comment

I don't like this route 2k has taken, hopefully next year it will be different.Comment
