MLB The Show 14: Atlanta Braves

    Braves1980
    Atlanta Braves Franchise

     photo images-16_zpsf2opalfv.jpeg

Welcome to my Atlanta Braves Franchise! This will be my first ever franchise I had done on any of the MLB The Show Titles. Over the years I had played MLB2K Titles over the years, but now I have bought a PS3 and MLB The Show 14 for a fresh start. It'll probably take me some time to get use to controls in this transition, but I feel I can and will get the hang of it. I just ask you all to bare with me as I move forward in this new era. For my franchise I take you through Spring Training, Opening Day Rosters, Season Schedule, and more. I will try to post a preview for each game for both Spring Training and the Regular Season. Since this is my first Dynasty thread for any of the gaming platforms and MLB Titles, I welcome any feedback. I feel it necessary to help me to become better at posting on my franchise in my opinion. It's the only way to learn. Only thing now is to begin Spring Training, and enjoy the ride.

February 26, 2014: Detroit Tigers at Atlanta Braves

Spring Training Baseball is ready to begin tonight as the Detroit Tigers and Atlanta Braves prepare for the 2014 MLB Season. A lot of young players trying to make the Opening Day Roster. It's going to be an exciting pitching and position battle to watch.

Tonight Justin Verlander will pitch for the Detroit Tigers as Kris Medlen will oppose him for the Atlanta Braves. We expect to see about 2 to 3 Innings work between the two starters before they are relieved by their bullpens. It's all about getting those arms ready, to address any issues, and correct them early. Stay tune as later we will have the complete rundown following tonight's game.

Here is the visiting Detroit Tigers starting lineup.

February 26, 2014: Detroit Tigers at Atlanta Braves Postgame

Today's Spring Training game was dominated by the pitching out of the bullpen for both teams. It took 11 innings for the game to be decided with a walk-off double from Freddie Freeman to allow Phil Gosselin to score from firstbase.

The scoring began back in the 4th inning when Evan Gattis blasted a 373 ft homerun over the left field wall off of Max Scherzer to give the Braves a 1-0 lead. Later in the 5th Max Scherzer would get an RBI single to tie the game at 1-1. With no outs in the 11th Phil Gosselin would reach first on a dropped ball by first baseman Miguel Cabrera. It would be a costly error as Freddie Freeman would hit a double in right center to allow Phil Gosselin to score from 1st to score and give the Braves a 2-1 win over the Tigers.

Kris Medlen pitched 3.0 innings only giving up 2 hits, 1 walk, and striking out 2 batters.

Justin Verlander pitched 3.0 innings only giving up 1 hit, no walks, and striking out 5 batters.

February 26, 2014: Fredi Gonzalez Report

               photo images-13_zpsol4qaehm.jpeg

The pitching was great on both sides in my opinion, but you got to remember this is only Spring Training. Kris Medlen pitched good, but still has to get improve on his release. Some of his releases were either early or late, but I'm sure he'll correct it before the start of Regular Season.

The offense needs to improve on some plate discipline. Some of the guys were swinging at everything thrown by the Tiger's pitching. We got lucky with the walk-off double by Freddie Freeman but we do need to have better plate discipline, and to be more selective of the pitches.

This is a great ball club, but as you know win/loss records don't mean much in Spring Training, because it's the Regular Season where it counts the most.

There was a lot excitement in today's spring game between the Atlanta Braves and Detroit Tigers. The Braves would strike first in the 2nd Inning as Freddie Freeman hit a solo-homerun to take an early 1-0 lead. In the 6th Inning Miguel Cabrera would blast a 2-run homer to tie the game 2-2. In extra innings Dan Uggla would hit a 2-run homer of his own to give the Braves a 4-2 lead in the 10th. The Braves would go on to win it.

Mike Minor went 3.0 innings allowing only 2 hits, no walks, and striking out 3 batters.

Max Scherzer pitched 3.0 innings allowing only 3 hits, 1 run, no walks, and striking out 2 batters.

Next Game: Atlanta Braves (2-0) at Houston Astros (0-0)

Good luck and welcome to The Show. Once 15 comes out I will be starting up a Dynasty (if it ever unlocks) for my Tribe. It looks fun
