Anyone have any ideas? 20 min periods. Last year, Phantom had a good set. Nothing for this year though. Sick of 5 goal games, as I'm sure EVERYONE is.

I am looking for the same thing. It seems like it's going to be very difficult to get a pure SIM brand of hockey in this game. I have always been able to figure out a way to get realistic gameplay but with this game I am nowhere close to finding a good set. In my opinion the game is too offensive minded to get a true SIM on 20 minute periods. I would maybe try to raise player acceleration to 4 and game speed to 0. I would also lower Ai learning and for cpu difficulty I would put it at 2. I know some people have said that raising cpu difficulty makes the computer cheat but I find if tuned correctly with other sliders it makes the computer more defensively minded. I play be a gm exclusively in goalie mode and that's what my experience has been with cpu difficulty. -

I think I have found a solution to the over the top offense in this game. I play goalie in bagm but I'm sure it would work controlling everyone on your team but what I have found out is if you play on all star or superstar hardcore and put game speed at 0, player acceleration at 4-6 depending on your preference the game plays a very defensive minded game. It depends on the team you are playing on the score and etc but I'm finally enjoying this game on 20 minute periods. Luckily my love for hockey and my patience gave me the strength to find these because I would have traded this game in months ago if I didn't have those two things. Nhl 15 is the worst hockey game I have ever played but hopefully this find helps some people find a resemblance of real hockey.Comment

I would say that I am above average but the key is to play goalie like you would in real life so you have to anticipate the play, go into the butterfly as the shot is coming and etc. Most of the goals I give up now are either I get a little ancy and over play the puck or a guy circles around the net and passes it to the guy in the slot for a one timer but since I made the changes to the hardcore settings defense is very solid. I always seem to find good sliders for goalie mode taking ideas from other posters around the web and this site like Clarkie, tnk and others it just took a little longer than past years. I usually get good goalie sliders around January but I just found these a few days ago. The key is aggression at 3 and game speed at 0 with acceleration up high. Gaps close very quickly like the nhl. Superstar seems more realistic than all star but both are pretty good. Hope you enjoy them if you try them out.Comment
