    Re: LD2K Challenge

Took 3 tries for me. Lost on a Kobe buzzer beater 3 pointer game 1. Lost by 5 in game 2. And won in OT in game 3. I used Ruby Payton/Clyde/Dominique/Russell/Hakeem with Ruby Havlicek, Sapphire MJ and silver Celtics off the bench.

Shaq was killing Hakeem but couldn't do anything against Russell. I would often double team off one of the two big guys. Jordan abused their second string. I took open 3 pointers. Worthy sleeps on D sometimes and he'll play off a good 3 point shooter. Hakeem shot about 80% on post ups. I quickly realized layups/dunks against Kobe, Magic, Shaq, and Wilt aren't nearly as successful as I would like but pick and rolls bring some of the big guys to the outside which helps a lot. I also used manual substitutions and timeouts so my top 7 could play a lot.

I would say this one was about as tough as the 2BG challenge.

      15/30 from three (50%)
      26/27 from the line (96%)

      My threes came from:

      Larry Bird (6 of 10)
      Detlef Schrempf (6 of 8)
      Avery Bradley (1 of 6)
      Nick Anderson (1 of 4)
      John Havlicek (1 of 1)
      Oscar Robertson (0 of 1)
15 for 30 is really good. As long as some of the open threes go in after I rotate the ball and get a good shot I'm happy. When I rarely play online and my opponent knocks down extremely contested threes and I miss good open ones I tend to get frustrated. I don't mind losing as long as there is some form of realism involved.

they are not totally a lost cause but you need to find another way to win because they can lose the game for you. I had Steph and he shot maybe 40% from 3 and scored about 40.....the game was close for the most part but I always trailed. I can beat it just have to adjust my playing style.

Ruby Klay was 2-8 from deep and NONE of the shots had a defender within 5 feet of him. Diamond Durant did a lil better but still missed WIDE open 3's. Lebron missed nearly all of his 3's wide open too. These sliders are dumb....what is the point in running plays or ball movement, drive/kick to get wide open shots when 90 rated 3 ball shooters cant hit?

Derek Fisher and Worthy were hitting contested 3's. lol. What makes me want to break the controller though is....they get so many and ones in close, yet McHale bricks wide open 2-footers.

I was able to beat this on my first try. I just bought the cheapest Celtics players i could find since I only had Rondo and Faverani. I didnt find this challenge difficult. Kobe and West will make everything if you allow them to get going it will be difficult. Durant missed everything for me as a stretch 4 but i was able to have a big game from Melo and LeBron and foul out Magic. I have seen some people use hack-a-shaq to beat this challenge so maybe those having difficulties can give that a shot. I would suggest you use a great defensive player on Kobe since he can get hot pretty fast.

          Lineup:
          PG Gold LeBron
          SG Sapphire George
          SF PD Melo
          PF Diamond Durant
          C Gold Davis

          Bench
          Rondo
          Austin
          J. Anthony
          Heinsohn
          Faverani
          Thompson
          Pressey

this challenge is fun but they cannot resist using bs sliders for the cpu. they rarely miss a shot. at least you can use any card type you want aside from the celtics manditory players.

i did well untill 4 minutes left in the 4th. i got to within 10 points and the cpu started doing its fastbreak cheese. the wound up winning by 25 i think.

This challenge was tough, and I was fortunate to beat it on the first try. Onyx Steve Nash went off for me. He had 17 in the first and 53 for the game. The biggest key is to not get overly frustrated and don't fall in love with the 3.

I was down 10 with less than 3 minutes and I just baseline cheesed with Lebron and got fouled every time. Nash ended up hitting a three down the stretch and Kobe answered with a jumper with 4 seconds left, which set up the gaming winning shot by Lebron at the buzzer.

                Re: LD2K Challenge

Just beat the CPU 130-115. (second attempt as the first one I shoot to often 3s and no way you will get reward for playing that way ^^)
You need of course a good lineup with good players to attack the basket.
Pick and roll is really key and you have to run P&R again and again... Do not take 3 unless you have no other option.
Mid range shot are ok if you take open ones.
Playing good defense is a must and you will see the CPU missing a lot close to the basket. Kobe was tough to control and nearly makes everything. So do not get frustrated and continue your game plan with P&R.
Try to limit the CPU to shoot 3s or he will kill you. When he feeds the post, stay close and play aggresive. I did steal so many balls under the basket playing aggressive, and if you make fouls, do no worry with Shaq missing a lot of them!

I do not know if that can help you, I am not a perfect player, but this one was not too diificult for me. So anyone playing seriously on defense and making good P&R can do it.

                My lineup:
                Lilliard (D)
                Harden (D)
                Lebron (Gold)
                Bob Petit (S)
                Cousins (Ruby)
                ....
and the fu....g celtics playing as low minutes as possible
...Call timeoutS when you need to rest your stars.

                Good luck!

Steve nash is in this challenge? I get that he is one of the better players that has played for the lakers at some point in his career. But his career was definitely over when he played their. I love Nash bc i am Canadian but come on

Nash was on my team. You can play with any card but your team must include 8 Celtics. The team you play against is basically the All time best Lakers minus Nick Van Axel.

I just tried this challenge and never felt I was going to be able to win. Every time I got within 5 or less points the bs kicked in. I would drive and get fouled hard with no call and they end up with a dunk on the other end. 3/11 on threes doesn't sound too bad except everyone I attempted was wide open with great shooters. Shaquille hitting 20 foot fadeaways with a guy right in his face. Very frustrating to say the least. I wish 2k could give difficult challenges without all the cheese play. It's not that I lost but how I lost that drives me crazy. Rant over.lol.

haven't tried this yet, but it looks significantly harder than the Wilkins challenge, which I found pretty easy. bet there is some major cheese in this one.

The Wilkins challenge seemed like it was on Superstar difficulty, but I'm not sure.

LD2K's challenge is confirmed to be on Hall of Fame difficulty.

Really? I would've thought the Wilkins challenge was on Pro, it was super easy. Did you do it later on? They might've changed it.

i jus finished the challenge and lost 141-135 it was fun even though i lost. I dont feel to cheated as these are some of the greatest players ever im trying to beat. Shaq had 26pts n 20 rebs n he killed me. Chasing kobe was tough he finished with 36 on 12-19 shooting and magic had 20-8-14. I found my succes was with lamarcus aldridge and ribert parrish in the post. I had no big men on the bench but during the game i win a kevin mchale on ah for 3500. So loking fkrward to imolementing him and trying at it again.
