Yep, $10 is so much worse then having to pay $60 for updated EA games every year. Not to mention that the last EA golf game cost around $100 if you wanted all the courses. What about all those silly season passes people buy for other games that don't add near the content that has been added to TGC for free so far. Yep, how dare they ask for another $10, that brings the total investment cost for this game to a ridiculous $40, still $20 cheaper then most main stream games.

What are you finding hard about it? It's all about the feel, like real life.
I'd prefer not to show the distance marker but some hardcore might hunt me down and kill me :-)Comment

My only issue with this is that the collector's edition will cost $40, and the base game costs $35. So all the people that decided to support the game during early access purchased the game for $35 and now have to pay $10 for the DLC for a total of $45 instead of $40.Comment

Re: The Golf Club: Season Mode Could Be $10 DLC for Digital Customers
I was thinking the same thing. It would be nice if the people who purchase & supported the game since Day 1 would be able to get all the upgrades/benefits of someone buying it on disk 6 months later. I'm all for as many people purchasing as possible to grow the consumer base, but it would have been nice if the disk version was priced at $45, so we'd be even on the digital side ($35+$10).Not a problem for me as a customer. The game is excellent and they seem to always be improving on it...asking for a measly $10 isn't a big deal.
Especially since it's NOT a game with a yearly release cycle, like the old EA golf games.
I love the idea of excellent and passionate indie developers being able to create great games outside of the whole "corporate" structure...and I have no problem supporting them, especially when they make great games!Comment

The putting isn't unfair, just takes practice. Most realistic putting mechanic in any game, ever, IMO.Comment

Re: The Golf Club: Season Mode Could Be $10 DLC for Digital Customers
So here's my question...if I don't buy the Collector's Edition DLC, will I still be able to play created courses that use the Tropical and Asian themes? I haven't really gotten into the course designer much so having access to create with those new ones doesn't mean much to me and TGC Tours has more than filled my need for a season mode. Still debating the purchase because I do want to support the devs but I just don't know how much I'd get out of the new (paid) stuff.PSN: JWGoNDComment

This is only part of this I don't like. So this may have already been covered but will the dlc be separate than the update itself? Or will my psn account be automatically be charged when it downloads?I was thinking the same thing. Re: The Golf Club: Season Mode Could Be $10 DLC for Digital Customers
My belief is that there are two updates coming:
Update #1. Free and includes Tropical theme and walls, fences etc
Update #2) $10 charge and includes adding Season mode
My assumption is we all get the Asian theme, drop balls, out of bounds and the graphical improvements to Xb1 for free, but not until the paid update hits, otherwise there will be a huge disconnect between what courses people can play. The only thing the $10 download gets is the season mode, at least as far as I understand.Comment

Hi guys, I broke it down in this week's Dev Diary as I knew there'd be a lot of questions http://thegolfclubgame.com/2015/03/1...-golf-maximum/Comment

So it seems like Season Mode for digital customers is at least 6-8 weeks away. Ugh.Jordan Mychal Lemos
@crypticjordan
Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Thanks for the support and for coming around these forums, Anthony!Hi guys, I broke it down in this week's Dev Diary as I knew there'd be a lot of questions http://thegolfclubgame.com/2015/03/1...-golf-maximum/
That link is great but, from what I've read, it doesn't really give anything that wasn't in the OP. It seems that there is some confusion about what's paid and what's not. I think everyone understands that the season mode is paid but there seems to be confusion about the Tropical and Asian themes as well as the other additions to GNCD. I understand it as follows:
- Season PAID
- Tropical PAID
- Asian PAID
- Drop balls FREE
- Other GNCD updates FREE
- Commentary updates FREE
Does that sound right to you? If so, I still don't see the answer to my question about whether the Tropical and Asian themes are available to play without purchasing the DLC. It makes sense that you'd need to pay to design with them but I've seen it go both ways with games as far as being able to play with that type of addition.PSN: JWGoNDComment

Re: The Golf Club: Season Mode Could Be $10 DLC for Digital Customers
I still think they should switch to a more normal yearly cycle and just keep the pricing at $39 each time.
As it is now the whole forum (HB) is always on the heels expecting a new update (several threads about how long it has been on there now) and then you have to open up these cans of "DLC pain" that everyone grouses about (not me, but many don't like it when EA does it).
It's always going to sour people to go for more money, whether you do it $10 at a time for DLC or just go for annual money.
Annual releases have the benefit of fresh hype, build up and a new name thus garnering a new review (TGC 2015 w/ Season Mode and new themes!) etc.
...and then it also has the chance to pull in users that tried version 1 and left (like me). People forget about updates and checking back and a new yearly release with some key features is a great signal to try it again.Comment

Re: The Golf Club: Season Mode Could Be $10 DLC for Digital Customers
Woodjer yeah you are correct that is exactly what's paid and what's not. You can't either play or design in the new themes without paying though I'm afraidComment
