Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

FIFA 15 (PS4)
CA Osasuna 2 - 2 FC Barcelona
FCB: Suarez 16' Deulofeu 75'
OSA: Torres 19' Guillermo 27'
El Sadar has done it again, this time pressuring the league title holders to a draw with constant chants and jeers. Barcelona struck first through Luis Suarez who after 2 consecutive rebounded shots was finally able to put the third one into the net. The goal didn't stop the home crowd from motivating their team with support, and just three minutes later Federico Palacios found Roberto Torres wide open on the right side of the box with his marker nowhere in sight. Palacios sent the ball to Torres who controlled it in one touch, and then powered the ball into the net with the second touch.

The home crowd was ecstatic, and the energy transferred over to the players. Just eight minutes later, Roberto Torres sent Palacios a through ball into space from the right wing with all the advantage towards Palacios. The German-Spanish striker beat Mascherano in the race for the ball and dribbled inside the box. With no angle to shoot, he lobbed the ball into the center of the box as Guillermo was sprinting in. It looked like the pass was inaccurate, but Guillermo dived in and headed the ball into the net!

Osasuna held the lead through halftime and for the majority of the second half until Barcelona's Deulofeu equalized in the 75th minute. Both teams pushed for the win but in the end neither were able to take the three points. Osasuna may be a disappointed for losing the lead fifteen minutes before the final whistle, but at the same time proud as they hold their unbeaten home streak in the league from last season.
RCD Espanyol 0 - 1 CA Osasuna
OSA: Kodro 90'

A very tight match that wasn't decided until the final minute. Osasuna defended really well but in attack they left much to be desired as they hardly worried the keeper. In the second half Chavez subbed off Isma Lopez who was producing very little on the left, moved Palacios to LM, and subbed in Kenan Kodro to play up front with Guillermo. The changes proved very effective as it was none other than Kodro who scored the winning goal in the 90th minute. Asier Riesgo played an outstanding match in goal for Osasuna, his best save being the one pictured above in which Espanyol's Kwueke beat Isma Lopez in the aerial battle and headed the ball towards the top corner of the net, but Riesgo was somehow able to save what looked like an inevitable goal.
CA Osasuna 0 - 0 Cordoba CF
Another match in which Osasuna play fantastically in defense and midfield, but the attack was lacking. Guillermo often found himself alone against the defenders while Palacios was forced to drop too close to the midfield line for the ball. Overall Osasuna played well, but they really struggled to get near Cordoba's box.
CA Osasuna Player of The Month

CDM - Victor Camarasa (Spain) (75 OVR 22yrs) (+1)
The first PoTM award of the season goes to Camarasa, who really stood out in the 4-4-2 with several precise tackles in midfield. Osasuna may have struggled in attack this month, but their midfield and defensive work was flawless.

* = New Addition
Alex Silva Gavan - RM (59-63, 74-80): 16 attacker The 16 year old has decided to settle in at RM and is considered an attacker. With a 6'0" height he's a good fit pretty much anywhere on the field especially down the center, but he has decided he's most comfortable on the wing.
Chris Cropper - GK (48-54, 78-86): The third American goalkeeper to join the Youth Academy. At 16 years old he stands at 6'3" and his game is well balanced so far.
Chris Jamieson IV - GK (61-65, 78-84): Julian Rubin was the first American to join the academy, but now this 6'7" giant also from the United States has stolen the show as people are excited to see him between the sticks. At 16 years old he's looking like a solid candidate for a call up soon depending on how he shapes up with the U17s.
Eriq Lisch - GK (58-64, 88-94): The fourth and final American goalkeeper to join the academy. 16 years old, 6'1", and so far he looks like the most promising. From what we've seen of him with the U-17 he still needs to improve his positioning. Competition to be the first American to play for Osasuna is hot.
Eñaut Gabbiadini - CDM (54-58, 72-78): The Spanish midfielder becomes the 2nd CDM in the academy, although at 15 years old he still has much to develop, including his height which is quite low for a CDM as he stands at 5'3".
Frost S. Napoles - CM (55-59, 70-74): Technically Gifted has been the term used to describe the 16 year old midfielder from Spain, but we haven't seen enough of him with the U17 to say what his future holds.
Joyce Barber - RM (58-62, 71-75): By reading his name one might assume the player is from the United Kingdom, but in fact he is a Spaniard. At least, he was born in Spain. Barber is only 5'4" but he has proven to be a playmaker from the wing even at 15 years of age.
*Turned 16 grew to 5'11"
Julian Rubin - GK (58-62, 73-77): Julian becomes the first player from the United States to join the Osasuna youth academy, and if he develops well enough he could even become the first ever American player to wear Osasuna's colors. The 15 year old goalkeeper could make history, but first he must show his class in the youth levels.
Luis Martinez - CB/CM (49-59, 81-94): This 15 year old from Spain immediately caught Chavez's eye and was signed to the academy right away. At only 15 years of age he still has much to grow as he stands at 5'1" and has yet to choose his set position.
*Mario Santana - ST (45-57, 75-94): Really excited to see future reports on this kid from Mexico. He's described as "Physically Strong" and you know how much I like to play with a target man. The downside is that he's only 5'3", but he's still 15 years old so I'm hoping he'll grow closer to the 6 foot range.
Roussillon Murnane - ST (57-61, 71-75): The 5'9" 17-year old from Spain has shown the characteristics of a winger as he tends to drift wide from the center.

Europa League
Osasuna will make their return to the Europa League next month, where it is expected they will try to get farther than they did last season when they were eliminated by Tottenham in the Quarter Finals. From what we know, Chavez will try to use the first team as much as he can in Europe opposed to last season where the B Team took over European responsibilities. Osasuna have been drawn into Group F which consists of Sporting CP from Portugal, sc Heerenveen from the Netherlands, and SK Rapid Wien from Austria. Osasuna's first match will be a visit to SK Rapid Wien.
***Simppu you're gonna love this! One of your favorite clubs from Germany made it to Germany this season. Yeah, from Berlin! But no it isn't Hertha... No sir.
Record Breaking Contract
Previously, Miguel De Las Cuevas was the club's highest earner with a $60,000 weekly wage. With his departure there was no single player with a higher wage than the rest of the club, but this month the club has offered a record breaking, multi-year contract to the squad's top scorer Guillermo. Guillermo has agreed, and is now the club's highest earner going from a $15,000 weekly wage to $70,000. Despite being a non-negotiable starter for the past two seasons, he's had the squad role of "squad rotation player" on his contract. His role has also increased on paper as it is now accurately specified that he is an "important team player."
Conclusion
At first I really liked the 4-4-2 Holding. Scoring two against Barcelona is definitely an achievement so after that first match I was really happy with the formation. After the second match not so much, but after the third match I realized I needed to make a change. I feel there's a huge gap between my midfield and strikers, but now that I think of it it could be because I have both my midfielders with the "stay back while attacking" since I hate it when they push up and leave my midfield wide open for counters. I plan to try out more formations next month, starting with the 4-4-1-1 Attack. I will customize both my CMs 21 clicks back in order to convert them to CDMs, and also 12 clicks towards the center so that they won't be so spread out. Everything else will remain the same. Guillermo will play ST and Palacios will be at CF. If I still feel there is too big of a gap between my midfielders and strikers, I will only move the LCM position 12 clicks back to LDM, and leave the RCM the same.
Is there any other formations you guys think will work well with Guillermo and Palacios up front? I am considering using a 4-4-2 Diamond Narrow since it's a favorite here and I used it exclusively during my FIFA 13 career mode with Leeds, but the only thing keeping me away from it is Isma Lopez since he's a winger and I don't know how he would do in a more central position. I was planning on replacing Lopez with a different winger if he doesn't impress in the next few months, but now I am also considering replacing him with a center midfielder instead so that I can try out the 4-4-2 Narrow.
The goalkeeper battle going on in the youth academy is beginning to take shape, and it looks like Eriq Lisch will be the winner. His potential is amazing at 88-94, and he has a realistic height at 6'1". I liked Chris Jamieson IV mostly due to his pimp name, but while it would be cool to have a 6'7" goalkeeper I also feel like it would be unrealistic. I may still promote him with Lisch, but after that I will not promote any youth player taller than 6'4". I know there have been really tall players in football, but it's usually once in a generation. Last thing I want is to have a squad full of giants.
Let me know what you think and
Thanks For Reading!
Pretty interesting transfers. Isma Lopez and Bigas look like good players but they're not world class. I think I've mentioned this before but I like your transfer policy of Spanish players. The results were pretty good, as well. Dropping points against worse teams isn't bad when you draw with Barca.
I'll just act like I didn't see the part where you talked about Union. I'm sure they bribed and threatened UEFA to let them play in the Europa League. Hertha are still the better team.
Also, like you said Cruzerr was the first person to start using screen shots. He used them in his Bilbao career and in his Everton one (I think the Everton one is older but I'm not sure).
