There is no roster merge. There will only be 2 Kris Bryants on a given roster if you import him a 2nd time yourself after downloading the roster from SCEA. But yeah assuming he actual does play for the Cubs this season (and I am sure he will), he will eventually be added to the rosters SCEA uploads throughout the season.
