Well it was surprising cause most of the time they make good calls but I have no idea why he wanted me to throw a low conf pitch with the game on the line.

But all in all it was my fault and I messed up.

      Just so everyone understands...

I'm by no means grabbing my pitchfork. I actually welcome the difficulty. Is it annoying sometimes? Yeah. But it's not a HUGE deal by any means. I'm ok; I'll live.

I was just seeing if anyone else is having as drastic issues as I am. I'll evaluate my game, make some changes, and do my best to avoid these events.

lol I was not saying that you were grabbing your pitchfork. It was how I was describing my own complaints (or pointing out possible flaws) about the game. I apologize if you took it that way, it's not how I intended to make it sound. My signature should just say "1. Open mouth 2. Insert foot."

          Oh boy... lol

I used to swear up and down there was a comeback code in this game but over time I've learned how to manage my bullpen and limit damage where possible.

By far my favorite thread every year. I just saw the title and was like "yessssss"

I honestly think there is something to the theory because it does happen alot but there are definitely ways to deal with those situations when they arise.

This subject should be added to the old "don't ever talk about religion or politics with your friends" saying.

Honestly this subject pisses so many people off on both sides of the argument.

On legend it's ridiculous. They smack homeruns and line drives up the middle like it's nobody's business.

They even hit against the friggin shift lol

What I love even more than the threads themselves....
-the frustration and rage over something that simply does not exist
-the laughable attempt of those that have zero interest in the game trying to fan the flames.

                    Good times.

Re: Anyone else noticing CPU cheese?

I will say this, I wish there was a way to specifically throw a waste pitch (or set up pitch, or show me pitch, or whatever you want to call it). I don't think this game has captured that aspect of pitching at all. Too often when you try to waste a pitch manually when you miss it will go out over the plate. It's not realistic.

If a pitcher in real life wants to waste a pitch it's a lot easier for him to hit the target because the target is bigger, thus more room for error, thus less error. And when a pitcher is trying to hit a target inside the zone it is a smaller target, thus less room for error, thus more error (relative to waste pitches).

It is true you will still see guys in real life miss waste pitches, but not to the extent you see in this game, nor to the result you see in this game (with pitches being left out over the plate). A distinction between the two types of pitches would help. It's this lack of distinction that I think maybe contributes to the feeling that there is comeback code.

For me the bottom line is that every game is winnable, and of that I have zero doubt.

Everything else is just the details of how the game unfolds, which has to balance both user input and player ratings and tendencies. I think it does a fine job.

LOL, yeah never fails that some feel there is a code in the game that makes the AI come back on you, in any sports game.

This must be what happened to theReds 2012 team, lol, the Giants must have had a comeback code in them, because they did it to us and the Cards. Here all along us Reds fans thought it was just the idiot Dusty Bakers fault we had a historically collapse, lol.

I cant say I have ever felt there was a comeback code in MLBTS, or for that matter in any sports game, although have I often thought people might have a legit argument with NBA2k having 1.

You are correct sir ! and to me its so obvious and yes it doesnt matter hu or cpu and thats what I describe as like Im not even playing in late innings as the game is boosted.

I mean all of a sudden I get hits I dont deserve or throw pitches that should be outs and yes as you say it is possible to avoid this when the game is boosted but I also agree with you 100% on how its done isnt realistic IMO .

Hey a question so when you do avoid the boosting do you notice how the game then suddenly quits ? I cant do it alot but when I do make it through the Maze the AI throws at me it just stops and the game goes back to normal .

Thanks Mike or WoodWeaver so can you please explain whats going on with the programming late innings ? I mean lets not kid anyone about the built in randomness as this is a game programmed by people to play like a sim as attributes alone couldnt do what happens in the game unless things are tilted or boosted as he said .

Im gonna guess I wont get a response ? and for the record not everyone is calling this a comeback its a boost as he described in the late innings kinda like if your reliever gives up a hit right when he comes in your almost better off bringing in a new pitcher do to his hit in confidence or even better leaving in your setup man to close the game that has full confidence and that also isnt realistic .
