    Meteoric Rise and Fall

In my main dynasty, I'm in 2021.

Three seasons ago, Arizona State beat Louisville for the national championship in Mike Leach's third season as coach.

Graham's last season saw a second consecutive 4-8 record. Leach comes in and leads the team to two straight 8-5 seasons before the 13-1 national title year.

Since then, the Sun Devils have gone 6-7, 3-9, and they're currently 0-9.

Louisville has a similar story, failing to win more than 5 games in a season since that championship loss.

Wisconsin also tumbled from a perennial Big Ten challenger to a 3-win team in just two years.

What other teams have just plummeted in your dynasties?

I find it amusing that the OS icon for NAU is 20 years (and three rebrands!) out of date.

I tried to make Penn State drop to replicate the sanctions by setting their entire initial roster to (RS)SR, but going into 2019 they've rebuilt to be better than ever and are a perennial Big Ten and national title contender.

5* recruits like the promise of playing time.

I've found that powerhouse teams that win the NC fall off pretty badly the next few seasons. Even the stacked teams returning a lot of seniors.

Oklahoma is struggling in my current one.
Texas, UF, Alabama, and Michigan never seem to last too long on top.

It's weird. it's the BYU/ND/USC/Oregon's that always stay near the top in my dynasty.

Although, I did the SR(RS) trick on Auburn's roster once when they were a 4*, and they went 14-0 the next year. Soo.... Apparently that one always back fires

            What's the SR (RS) trick?

Edit their entire roster to be redshirt seniors, so they all graduate & the team has (at best) 25 recruited players and every other position is a walk-on. They usually lose a lot of games after that, but as noted they tend to get a ton of great recruits due to having A+ playing time across the board & rebound just as fast.

                Re: Meteoric Rise and Fall

In my main dynasty in year 2029 I have seen a few teams fall off. TCU owned the Big-12 in the first 5 years, won 3 BCS bowls, played in 1 BCS title game, but has not won more then 3 games in a season over the past 4 seasons. They are on coach #4 in just 4 years.

FSU had a run in the early years but now gets 2 recruits per season that is 4 star or better.

I played Michigan for the BCS title 5 seasons back which I won. Since then they have not had a winning season and on their 3rd coach, just fired my former OC who got the HC job 3 seasons back.

I think the rise and fall adds to the depth of the dynasty. I hate the old days where certain teams were good every year while others were always bad. It felt like it was programmed that way, but 14 feels like multiple factors go into a teams rise or fall.
Relax, it's just a video game!
