Stubbs just dropped the ball twice in a single game. Is anyone else noticing this? It's cost me games twice now and it feels odd. I'm not playing anyone out of position, except maybe their secondary. I'm not seeing many errors on goundballs, just flyballs and pop ups.

Tons of outfielder errors in DD?
I am committing a ton of errors on routine flyballs. Balls just falling out of players' gloves or the whole player in center of circle, but falls backward trying to catch the ball and whiffs.

Re: Tons of outfielder errors in DD?
I find the movement of outfielders in general are really jerky and not fluid at all.
When it looks like you're in position to make a catch and then you make a small movement, the players makes a sudden movement and then totally misses the ball.
I've had balls bounce off my player and onto the ground, totally miss the ball altogether and drop the ball.MLB 15 DD:

Re: Tons of outfielder errors in DD?
Add me to this list. I've got decent outfielders- no reason Ben Revere should be dropping routine balls hit right to him.
Also agree with the jerkiness. I'll start running toward a ball and suddenly my outfielder speeds up so I overrun the fly. Definitely cost me some runs.Comment

Re: Tons of outfielder errors in DD?
I've had no issue with outfield errors. However I notice the outfielders arms have been extremely inaccurate when trying to throw the ball into the infield, the balls seem to fade away from the base their thrown too. This needs to be addressed by the devs and I'm sure they will.Comment

Re: Tons of outfielder errors in DD?
I've had an insanely frustrating few games. In all of the past 4 games I've played (my first in an SS league or whatever), I've given up tons of hits... in the first inning only. Then the game settles down but as soon as I tie it or take the lead my players can't catch a ball in the infield or outfield or throw an accurate throw to a base until I eventually start losing. This coupled with the fact that I can't get a single hit in the first inning. I get weak grounders and fouls on perfectly timed and located swings. These are all factors outside of human control and I know it's a common whine but man is it hard not to feel like I'm getting screwed by some algorithm here.
Anyone else having a similar experience?Comment

Re: Tons of outfielder errors in DD?
Add me to the list as well. Have seen this happen quite a bit. Lost 2 games versus the CPU in the 9th inning because my outfielders inexplicably had the ball just drop out of their glove on routine flys. Definitely something amiss here.Comment

Re: Tons of outfielder errors in DD?
Same thing happens to me too, even with excellent outfielders. It seems like I get at least 1 error every game from a routine fly ball. The outfielder will be in the ball marker, usually on the warning track, and the ball will just fall in front or behind him, he'll do some crazy whiff animation and it will hop the fence into a ground rule double. Also, sometimes on line drives and base hits to an outfielder the outfielder just won't field the ball and it will roll to the wall for a triple.
They mentioned in the streams that they made it harder to catch fly balls this year, by not having the catch animation occur as quickly. But it's ridiculous when you're outfielder is jerking all over the place on a routine pop fly. This needs to get fixed.Comment

Errors seem very prominent. Prob a way to encourage people to buy better fielders and not just buy power hittersComment

Re: Tons of outfielder errors in DD?
I'm seeing this as well, except in every mode, not just DD.
I know they purposely made fielding harder (they removed almost all of the automatic "suction" when catching a ball).
Like, I appreciate they they made fielding an actual skill you have to learn. But at the same time, I'm starting to become very frustrated with the fielding.
Especially when running into position to catch a fly ball (not catching it mid run, obviously I would expect some misses then). I sprint to the place the ball is going to land and stop, but my player refuses to turn around or refuses to set up for the catch and just lets the ball drop without making an attempt. I've even had fielders not even attempt to catch fly balls and just watching it fall inches over their head.Comment

Re: Tons of outfielder errors in DD?
I have had issues with outfielders camping under easy pop ups and having it hit their glove and fall to the ground(above average fielders). Super frustrating. I've also had a ton of botched grounders by fantastic fielders and many infielder throwing errors by gold glove caliber players. I hope they tone back the errors soon.Comment

Re: Tons of outfielder errors in DD?
I wouldn't mind the errors except that mine so frequently happen when the fielder is "released" from CPU control and my leisurely trot (that I thought I was controlling) turns into a full on run. Impossible to gauge with no settings for fielding which are, of course, locked in this mode.Comment
