Franchise Sponsorships Question
Simple question.... Is this a crutch? What I mean is, does activating sponsorships give you a huge advantage over CPU teams? I understand you get funds for your budget during franchise, and I'm wondering if this will end up making the GM aspect of my team too easy. I usually shy away from the "bonuses" and stuff in modes where they give the human controlled team and added advantage, over the CPU. Magic batting gloves adding +5 to contact etc, etc.. If the CPU teams get additional funds thru out the season also, then I could see this being kind of cool, but if they don't, then I kind of feel like I'm cheating. What's all you other franchise players take on this?XBOX Gamertag: KCHuskey

Re: Franchise Sponsorships Question
I would like to use it for the "realism" factor having real brands in the presentation, but I won't for the reasons you described. I want to earn everything and keep things in my GM universe, based on my skills(or lack thereof) of trading, signing and drafting within a budget. -
Re: Franchise Sponsorships Question
After the first season simming in my practice franchise, with two sponsorships, I gained about 4 mil in budget room. Is it confirmed that the CPU does not use them?Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.Comment

Re: Franchise Sponsorships Question
I've asked this question countless times; no one seems to really know. My guess is they don't get sponsorships, and I don't use them for that reason.Comment

Re: Franchise Sponsorships Question
If I apply them to all 30 teams, will growing everyone's budget throw things off come offseason time?I would like to use it for the "realism" factor having real brands in the presentation, but I won't for the reasons you described. Am I better off just leaving things alone?Comment

Re: Franchise Sponsorships Question
I don't know if it will "throw things off," my guess is teams will just continue to have more and more budget room.
I haven't tested it, but I would guess budgets would explode like last year before the patch and teams would all have plenty of salary room.Comment

Re: Franchise Sponsorships Question
CPU teams do not get extra budget money from any type of sponsorships. It is kind of like a little bonus (and I say a pretty big one). The ones that I tested it out with are the sponsorships that give you a certain amount per game. I have all three of the ones that give this reward. The diamond 40,000 per game, the gold 20,000 per game, and the silver 15,000 per game. They count even if you simulate the game as well. So you take 75,000x162=12.15mil. So each season you get an extra 12.15mil added on to your budget. That is a huge increase! This does not include the amount you get added on at the end of the season for your performance. Its definitely a huge bonus, and if you're trying to get better at managing contrast within a specific budget, I do not recommend doing it.

This could help when free agents demand huge money over the seasons in Franchise and teams can't afford them and they sit around.Comment

Re: Franchise Sponsorships Question
I couldn't believe this either. It is a big bonus, so I created my own house rule. I only use 1x Per Game Sponsorship. That way the "bonus" money is likely to be in the $4-6M region. 50% less than your example. I consider this "TV money." I think it's a lot more reasonable.CPU teams do not get extra budget money from any type of sponsorships. It is kind of like a little bonus (and I say a pretty big one). Re: Franchise Sponsorships Question
Its another imbalance in the game, i wish they would focus more on the offline portion of the game, if they scrapped online service, the offline portion would be sooo much better, but since i know that will never happen, (although the show is getting bad mouthed alot more this year about the online part of the game) i will not use this and i will not be using a work around, they need to fix this and other imbalances in the game, please and thank you.Comment

Re: Franchise Sponsorships Question
Well...I could say I'm "baffled"(really?) at why people still fight starting with 30 team control....but then again...I'm not.
People are rigid, bitter, get stuck on meaningless little niggles and don't want to fix things if it's a problem(no game is ever going to be perfect.....at least you HAVE the ability to fix things in this game...not true with others) until it can get ironed out(or not
**** happens).
But on this "issue" it's even easier....DON'T SIGN SPONSERS if you don't want an advantage.
But this is O.S.

Re: Franchise Sponsorships Question
Perhaps you're taking this personally when it's not directed as an attack at you. The point I was raising is that we get features/addons/etc. and they either break something else or don't function quite as well as they should. Fantasy draft rosters for franchises worked fine in '12 (no idea on '13 as I didn't buy) and then the algorithm for how you shape the initial one is broken in '14 and is again this year. Callups of hot prospects requires 30TC, lineups that make senes require 30TC, not putting short guys in rotations requires 30TC...Well...I could say I'm "baffled"(really?) at why people still fight starting with 30 team control....but then again...I'm not.
