First off, we will not have an ETA until day of release. We are not being privileged or anything of the sort but we saw what happened around the OSFM threads because of this and the fact that there are a lot of tweaks and twists that happen right up til the end. We want this out sooner than later is about as close to a date as we can give. Any requests for an ETA will probably not be answered.
Second - no negativity will be allowed. Conversation is fine. More than 2 posts from 1 person, is no longer considered conversation though.
I'm sorry for being blunt but we want to keep this thread positive and for good information purposes.
Now - onto the roster itself.
First we are waiting to see if there are substantial corrections made in tomorrow's roster update before truly embarking on the project. If there are, while I really don't want to do this, I will import over the OSFM roster to the update roster before beginning any ratings changes. Unfortunately if I need to do this I will lose Ridin's hard work on SCEA equipment and contracts
Our re-rate this year will more or less focus on SCEA players, because of the great work TEEDS and WTNY did in providing the OSFM creators an updated ratings spreadsheet and the great work the OSFM creators did on the roster making adjustments but not falling out of the scope of our spreadsheet.
For those who have not seen the spreadsheet, I can tell you the ratings look a tad higher than we have had in the past and WTNY has gotten them so accurate it is not funny - this includes the issue this year with pitcher inflation over the course of the career.
Potentials have been lowered slightly from past years as well - but really with the exception of maybe 50 players in the MLB - potential is a shot in the dark at best.
Contracts will be looked at, but with the current sim engine - at least for version 1 we will stick within its confines- adjusting to real life numbers would require 30 team control as well as a lot of manual work through free agency. We will make sure years are correct. We may try to figure out a percentage to use to make it work.
Our roster will be true to the 40 man as usual with injured players in A ball and we will try to adhere to 100% AAA, 90% AA accuracy as we always have.
Also this will be an OD Set this year as opposed to the updated transactions set we have released in the past.
We have many of the usual suspects volunteering to give us a hand this year and if anyone else who has face skills or equipment skills wants to join in - drop us a note.
Thanks as always for you interest.
Willard, TEEDS, WTNY
