C'mon homie, smh. You gotta know better than that. These dudes are on their 3rd 3-year plan and still building a game on broken technology. My dude, they ported the code of a broken game into a new generation, lol! Surprise surprise the game has most of the same damn problems as it did all last generation. How can things get better when youre using the same broken mess as a foundation? Dont you cats see the problem? Theyre adding more stories onto a house that was built on quicksand.

That dev team is full of you know what. Why keep helping them BS the public? They know they cant fix most of these problems and the sim issues we complain about will never be right as long as they stick with this dinosaur code and tech theyve been using since the early 2000s, and its funny to me how Donny Moore would even open his mouth to disrespect Joe Montana on Twitter like that as if Madden is some kind of example of best in class tech, smh. Who is Donny Moore to disrespect Joe Montana? Donny Moore is nobody, and he wouldnt even have a job if it werent for people like Joe Montana going out there risking his body for this game for all those years.

At this point yo, I don't want another NFL game just because I want another NFL game. I want another NFL game thats great and wrecks Madden into NBA Live status just because the people making this game whove publicly revealed themselves are detestable unprofessional people who have no respect for the game of football or the greats who made it great, and because of that these clowns arent worthy of respect. And the fact that they come off like that in public makes it clear as to why the game they make is so effed up.

I just wonder how long people who defend and cheerlead for this game will do it? 5 more years? 10 more years? 20? What has really changed with this game in the past 10 years besides its graphics and some presentation elements?

Is the blocking AI on APF level? No. Is the passing game on APF's level where you can complete every throw a pro QB can without it being negated by a ridiculous animation or a psychic DB? No. Does the game have route-based passing? No. Is there realistic WR/DB interaction? No. Are the animations on the same level as the other top sports games? No. Does a pocket form consistently? No. Do QB's drop, set, and throw with proper form? No. Do DB's set and react with proper form? No. Can RB's run behind and push behind on a lineman without being stuck on him or being knocked down altogether? No.

So where is this game going exactly?

When you have Tiburon devs on Twitter telling people that running animations are "too minor" a thing to care about in a FOOTBALL GAME, then you know you're dealing with a dev team that doesn't do this with passion. This a job to them, and they're just trying to hit their internal metrics, get paid, and go home at the end of the day. And hey, that's fine, but if I didn't love what I do and didn't have deep passion for it, I wouldn't be on Twitter putting myself out to the public like they do.

People are not stupid. They can see a difference between a team that develops with the love of what they're doing versus a team that's just trying to get it done and over with. I realize EA is not one of the best places to work in this industry, but as a consumer I simply don't care. All I know is that I continue to see a game that has a problem in pretty much every single area and little to nothing ever gets done about it.

The improvements are acknowledged. The problem is that those improvements have been infinitesimal. We're talking about things that other sports franchises be it football or otherwise nailed ages ago. Sorry, but there is no excuse for that and defending it now is either total naivety or just flat out dishonesty.

Look at my YouTube channel vids, and look at how many times I identified an issue in Madden 15 that was present in Madden 06-25? Core problems that go to the heart of what makes football FOOTBALL. I didn't even have to say a word in the vids, because the footage speaks for itself. And to make it worse, I didn't even have to try hard to look for them. I just played the game and noticed issues easily and recorded the vids as I played. That's how many problems this game has, you don't even have to try.

And what was Clint Oldenburg's response to it? Denial. At least with Ian he was straight with me and maybe it's because I saw him face-to-face a lot. But these newer guys? All they do is deny and downplay. Going by their Twitter responses, absolutely everything we care about is "minor" to them, and that's probably why the game is still stuck in 2003 with AI one would expect from a 2003 game along with animations to match.

Even if that were true, you do realize that much of what he said isn't an opinion, right? Football fundamentals aren't opinion. There is a right way and a wrong way to do everything in football, and clearly Madden's animations and AI consistently display wrong ways that objectively don't line up with fundamental football.

Now, his view that the improvements have been small could be viewed as an opinion, but can you honestly say with a straight face that this is wrong? I mean, Smitty, let's be real here, can you honestly say the pace of innovation from 2005 to 2015 with EA/Tiburon at the helm is the same as the pace from just 1999 to 2004 when there was competition? Can you name any single innovation that EA/Tiburon has put into Madden in the last decade that put it ahead of where football gaming was before the exclusive license? I really want to know, because I can't think of a single thing Madden has introduced in the last decade that could be classified as "innovation".

As for his interactions with Clint Oldenburg, well, that's a fact because we can see that in writing. All Clint does is talk to people like they're crazy when they mention a problem. BBSB showed the man footage from the game and he denies it like it's not there, lol. I remember a funny one where Clint was saying that the blocking AI is the best ever of any football game ever made, then RyanMoody and BBSB both quickly posted videos of plays where the blocking was completely broken (not that it's hard to find those). This is the sort of stuff that can't be defended.

What makes people concerned about this whole thing is that people who defend this game pretty much respond the same way the EA Employees do now, but EA employees get paid to respond like that. I think people want to see expectations being demanded by people interacting with EA, rather than an endless sea of hope that ignores the reality we can all see, because at this point wouldn't a person not want to keep having their time wasted?

It's good to be positive, but there comes a point when positivity becomes gullibility and the communities that defend this game are way past the positivity point now. It's like they're all just parroting PR statements written by Tiburon.

All these posts are great, but they don't mean anything when people are still buying the game. The only way we see a real change is if these sales plummet. Until then it just sounds like we're all complaining and it's "us" and not the game.

He does respond, correct? I did see Moody respond just this week that Clint watches all the videos he sends him and state he doesn't have to, correct?

An employee won't say anything bad about their product on a public platform that is seen by millions across the world. It's not like Cheers where everybody knows their name.

Maybe if and when Clint leaves Tibouron he will write a tell all novel, but he won't acknowledge issues in public to the people that writes his check, would you?

If I went on FB and Twitter and said anything resembling negativity towards the company I work at, I could be fired based on corporate policy and it's in black and white in the company handbook I signed.

I have my issues with Madden and it's well documented in one of these threads.

I suppose the only real questions are whether the game will appear on last-generation consoles, and also whether it will appear on PC. We know it will appear on the latest consoles because there's at least twenty years of history backing the idea that Madden always appears on the latest consoles, and there's no reason for this year to be an exception.

Based on the series' history, I would venture to guess the platforms will be PS4 / XBOX One (both are givens) and PS3 / XBOX 360.

Yes, absolutely you can.

There are rules in the Football - Other forum set in place for the discussion involving a specific game which hasn't even been officially announced due to the manner it was previously being discussed. Beyond that, you absolutely may go to the Football - Other forum and compare games.

This forum, however, is for discussing Madden and Madden only, without bringing up other games. To that end, the discussion in this thread stays on Madden and nothing else.

I used to be a big Madden fan. Played it yearly up until a few years ago. Now I just can't get into it as the series continually, imo, tries to re-invent itself and continually lacks the fundamentals.

I gave '15 a try and while it was good the fundamentals were not there (no penalties, wr/db interaction) and the owner mode was basically broken.

What am I hoping to hear? I'm hoping to hear something that gets my attention again. Something that makes me stop and take notice. Because as of now, Madden is an afterthought for me. I have no desire to play the game. I'm wanting something that makes me feel like I did when I looked forward to the release of the game.
