    scheme

how much stock do put into getting players who match your scheme in CFM. I go for players who fit my schemes in whatever lg I'm in. to add realism on my part so instead of bunch of random high overall players. I was told it affects confidence and ratings which it does to certain extent. How much value do you put into getting players who fit your scheme on either side of ball or do you just get players u like/high overall.

just wondering if I'm one of few who runs a scheme drafts players in that scheme, add players via draft/trade/fa who fit that scheme .

does having a 43 corner in a 34 system even matter or vise versa. or spread guard in power run scheme

    Re: scheme

I put very little effort into the game's scheme feature.

I place more emphasis on player types though.

I think that is an aspect they should revise. Instead of having 1 scheme assigned to players there should be familiarity/comfort levels for each scheme. These levels should be dynamic and change over time.

good questions, I've been wondering the same things. But overall I do draft and sign guys that fit my scheme just because it feels more authentic

        Re: scheme

It's worth paying some attention to - players whose scheme setting matches your team's scheme will be able to upgrade their AWR by spending less XP - but it shouldn't be something which prevents you from bringing a player to your team outright.

          Re: scheme

I focus on player type the most. If I have my WR set to Red Zone Threat then I focus on those type players despite the offense they have assigned to them. I also spend my XP points on the ratings impacted most by each position type. It seems to work alright for me.
Relax, it's just a video game!

            Re: scheme

go back to the scheme fit were you could do like qb,rb,wr,te, ol,dl,lb,cb,safety
or at least when you change it the overall changes. I would rather deal with
the ovr. or when you upgrade say rb from elusive back to power back ovr goes up.
(example) i am using jamal williams from gb he is a power back but i upgrade
elusive back and pwr goes up instead of elusive

I'm going to lock this thread to avoid confusion, since schemes work markedly different in Madden 19 than they did in older games and the advice offered in this thread is no longer relevant.
