I'm ok with the car list, however I will be needing a Corvette at some point. Hopefully it will come in future DLC.

Re: Project Cars - Car List
Every time I view a racing game's car list I'm looking for an SS Cobalt. I don't care if it's an 06 SS SC or a 08 SS TC.. doesn't matter.
I didn't expect to see one, but I'm still disappointed with the car selection.
I'll likely wait for a purchase now. I won't try to compare the two because they aren't the same kind of racing game, but DriveClub still provides me with plenty of entertainment.Comment

Re: Project Cars - Car List
To me, this game has never been about a car list. What 'm excited about is that it features actual racing, with full race weekends, points championships, etc.
I also enjoy games like Forza and Gran Turismo as the driving model is fairly realistic and the racing is fun but it's completely missing the structure of the real sport. It's like an NBA 2K that would only feature pick up games. I cringe every time someone calls these games great racing sims.
In real racing, there are no 3 lap races between 12 o 16 guys bringing their car to a track and jumping straight into the race. It works great for online but in no way does it represent real racing.
As far as Project Cars goes, the ability to race karts, GT, prototypes and open wheelers, with full grids, practice, qualifying and decent length races on a variety of great circuits is what has me excited. The actual cars could all be generic for all I care, although I do understand that those who care about the car aspect as much or more than the racing aspect may be disappointed.Comment

Very good comparison. I think one of the reason this game will be great is because it has the race weekends, and champtionships, not just one-off, jump in and go race, races.I also enjoy games like Forza and Gran Turismo as the driving model is fairly realistic and the racing is fun but it's completely missing the structure of the real sport. Re: Project Cars - Car List
Very good points and I completely agree, I will be getting the game and enjoying it just as much if the car list was how I wanted. It is just a big let down when I was expecting more along the lines of GT2 manufacture list (Obviously old list, but good example of what I was expecting). To me, this game has never been about a car list. What 'm excited about is that it features actual racing, with full race weekends, points championships, etc.

It's a little disappointing to see so few cars available, but new models can be added easily down the road through DLC. I'm waiting to learn more about how the game controls and how solid the AI is, because those things can't be fixed later and are really what could make or break this game.Comment

Final Car List Revealed For Project CARS
Well if you didn't know, the CARS part of the title actually stands for Community Assisted Racing Simulator. It's not a car collecting game, it's about racing machines. Give me more tracks over more cars any day!Hating Collingwood and umpires since 1979Comment

Where is the information about the "depth" in the racing? If this game doesn't truly require you to truly start at the bottom (as in the weakest racing circuits with the weakest cars) then it really doesn't have depth. I have seen the videos and they do look impressive, but that ain't going to matter for any real anount of time if there aren't true goals to shoot for. It will just end up being a nice simulator if weather and track effects for racing games 5-10 years down the road. Didn't someone here say that the Mustang in the game doesn't even sound like a Mustang? How did that get by QC?Comment

Re: Final Car List Revealed For Project CARS
You can't dodge the fact that there are several huge manufacturers missing right now. There's still plenty of car content to get people started and last a while.. I'm sure it will be enough to please most racing fans if the gameplay and career is fun and challenging.
Whether it's an acronym or not, it's still marketed and pronounced exactly how it's written in discussion, ads, etc..
It's okay to want a game that provides a solid racing experience and still expect a better list of cars for $60.00.Last edited by AUChase; 05-02-2015, 07:29 AM.Comment

Final Car List Revealed For Project CARS
I don't have an issue with the car list at all. It's comparable to other racing sims such as assetto corsa and iracing.
Like someone stated earlier, this game shouldn't be compared to the likes of forza or gran turismo. Those games are just grinds throwing you into one day races collecting cars (not knocking on them as I do enjoy both games) Pcars is all about proper racing with practice and qualifiers on an impressive list of tracks

Re: Final Car List Revealed For Project CARS
I'm kind of on the fence. In one way, I don't mind the lack of manufactures because as has been pointed out...this isn't a car collecting game.
The thing is this: I'm fine with generic vehicles depicting the likes of LMP for instance because for some time, the cars seemed to look the same at speed. What were seeing now though is some originality/character such as the NISMO GT-R LM and I'd kind of like to see that replicated.
Same for IndyCar. Yes, Dallara is the chassis provider to all teams, but as of this year, Honda and Chevy have unique aero kits and I'm guessing those need to be licensed in order to be included.
It's not a complete turn off for me, I still want to pick this up when I finally get my XB1.Comment
