Maybe I'm thinking of something else but I could've sworn that they patched in the ability to import draft classes in the first iteration of CFM (13 or whatever?). Of course, that was technically CCM but the only difference I see is the addition of owner mode. Can't imagine that slightly different take on the mode would cause anything to break.

I'd love to see the ability to edit/share draft classes, too. I'm not going to hold my breath waiting on it though...

Also, on third and medium/long, you pretty much know the CPU is going to call either a slip screen, or four verticals half the time.

Clock management needs to be touched up to. Can't remember if it's still this way, but for years the CPU was programmed to always call a timeout at 1:01 in the two-minute drill. So if they got tackled with 1:15, they would basically waste 14 seconds of clock before calling the TO. The CPU shouldn't be calling a TO at a hard-coded time like this.
The second paragraph is no longer true anymore.

I still have and play 15, the CPU takes timeouts at different times.

It's obvious none of those things stopped Live Opponent from being implemented in the first place though and some would like to see some version of it or something similar return. In spite of your "if" and general opinions about game design, I'm still of the opinion it was nonsensical to remove it in the first place given next-gen madden's track record on questionable feature removal, you don't agree, ok got it.

Also wanted to add seems odd to me that anyone would try to spin feature removal as sensible in reference to Madden when the current Madden dev team has come out against it as a poor practice.

Maybe while they're reworking wr/db interactions, they'll give special teams some attention. Both haven't really been changed ever, and making special teamers more important would have a huge impact on how you manage your franchise. Combined with practice squads, franchises would be much deeper.

I just wish return teams would try to create seams. Maybe assign their block animations similar to an o-line play, with traps, stretches, reach blocks, turning defenders. I think special teams blockers should direct their blocks with purpose more than prevent an attackers' movement.

Looking at this through the context of knowing full well what Madden is and isn't by their track record; I hope to see the "true step" applied to all 22 players on the field; WR/DB interaction (seems to be a given at this point); more "signature" animations like running and catching styles. Add more elements from past Madden franchise/Head Coach modes to CCM. I'd be good with all that.

Man I want nothing more for that stuff to be in the game, but knowing how these people operate, those things are wishful thinking.

Yeah, it is a little. But I have learned to keep it simple with Madden until proven otherwise. I could give a laundry list of things I want improved or added to the game, but at this point, why waste the keystrokes?

That being said, I already know I'm gonna get the game. And I did enjoy Madden 15 on the XB1 more than any other Madden since 07 on the PS2. There's enough there for me to get my moneys worth. I don't expect any wholesale changes at all. But if they could add a few items I mentioned I'd take that as a win. That's where we're at with Madden now.

so many things they need to do that have been said besides this. The unrealistic catching animations need to go. Whoever thought it would be cool to mo-cap a guy jumping off a trampoline while reaching one hand (with a velcro glove) fully over his head and catching a nerf ball and flipping onto a huge pad is an idiot. People are amazed in real life at ODB making a one hand grab coming back towards the ball on a 6 yard hitch. NOBODY JUMPS 8 FEET IN THE AIR AND ONE HANDS A ROCKET PASS

A game from EA that is on par with Madden 2005 and ESPN 2K5

An updated version of that would be so cool! Especially now that Madden is actually teaching some football fundamentals. The oline protection drills really helped me with M15. Also, there's something about playing with players in their practice gear that just scream "football season" to me. It got me hyped for the upcoming season. Then there were position battles and such during the preseason. Those were the days.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the excitement for Madden like I did years ago. I remember all the excitement even for Madden 08 (an utterly terrible game that was broken in practically every area) and it was an explosion of anticipation across the net around this time. Could say the same for Madden 09 and 10. But now, it just seems dead. It's like, the people who are going to buy it are going to buy it, whatever, but the excitement for it is just dead.

It's like this game has crushed football gamer's spirits. I miss the time when football gaming was exciting and you marked your calender for the new season campaign swirl. But, we had competition in most of those years, so I digress.

I'd like to see FA bidding replaced by an NCAA recruiting system. Each FA would have a list of teams he's interested in, and each team would then be able to pitch him as to why he should sign with them, if you're not on his list you can be by making the right pitches and being aggressive enough. Then once he decides that team would be able to make an offer. But if it's too low he will break off contract talks and go back on the market.

A system like that would be far more realistic than the current one. That, and you wouldn't see CB's, LB's, and WR's making $150m with a $60m bonus, which is all to common in online CFM's. If someone like PP were to be a FA, I feel as if I have to offer $150+m to have any shot at him.
