Appiah will obviously be getting a lot of offers seeing as he is in his prime at 26-28. Where do you plan to strengthen in the summer?
    Thanks! Appiah has been amazing!

In the summer, I'm really wanting to focus on defense. I need a solid centre back who can dictate play and organise Inniss, Marchesin and Gomez. One of my centre-backs will have to be dropped to the bench and that is most likely Gomez due to his love of rushing up-field for no apparent reason!

Also looking for a world class goalkeeper as Bond just isn't going to be good enough in the next few seasons.

If I get enough money, i might invest in the wings due to Banton and Allassani not getting as many asissts as they should.

I've just signed a few of my new scouted players into the senior team. Check out Aaron Davis' stats:

He's 73 Overall and 16 years old but he has the one thing I was dreading most of all; a low/low work rate!

In the end, anything could happen in this transfer window...

Some very nice stats on that young lad! That pace though. :/

He's 5'8" so he isn't even a very effective target man... It also says he can play in CAM, CDM and LM. He could be an effective CDM...

Oh...Maybe up front as a poacher with another striker? He did have some good tackling stats alright. Are you going to loan him or keep him in the squad?

I have about 9 hours until my first French exam. I should be sleeping right now, but I'm so nervous I can't. I have 2 French exams and a Science exam tomorrow, and the next few weeks are hell. I honestly don't understand how tests are an accurate representation of people's knowledge. I'm crapping it, because to do what I want to do, I need to get an A* in Maths and I'm worried that the test will make me break down. Do any of you have advice?

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Keano That was a lot of activity in the transfer window, but I like the moves. A 75 rated goalkeeper is not bad and should be serviceable for you next year either in the Championship or the Premier League, and you also added 3 defenders and 3 midfielders with the oldest guy being 23 of that group. Tough to go out in the FA Cup against Sheffield Wednesday, but your form in league play was solid with 3 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw. Next month's game with Brighton is a big one as they currently have a 3 point lead on you. The rest of the games look winnable, so that game is the tipping point. Good luck.

10cabee Tough results against Manchester City and Liverpool, especially considering Liverpool got 2 late goals to steal victory. What a shootout with Aston Villa at 4-4, very exciting. Appiah continues to score in droves and it's really an accomplishment that he's leading the Premier League in goals. May looks quite easier, so hopefully you get the desired results.

2nd update - Europa League! What an accomplishment for Exeter City in their first season in the Premier League to qualify for Europe. You really exceeded all expectations and Appiah is a big reason why, what a player.

texasbum A 90th minute winner by Barral to win the league title, it doesn't get much better than that! You had to win every game to pass Real Madrid and you did it. What an accomplishment for Deportivo. Like you said, there is still a lot to play for with the Copa del Rey and Champions League. Hopefully your club is in it for the long haul and is up to the challenge.

Blue Eagle I figured you would take care of Rostov and you did. I don't know how much you know about Torbinsky, but he's from a town in Russia called Norilsk that is above the Arctic Circle. It's so cold there that he learned how to play football indoors. He used to be a member of the Russian National Team, but is hitting his 30's now. He still has great pace though. Just a little info on him. Palacio is in really good form and it's good that you are getting good goalkeeping from Handanovic. Of your transfer rumours, I know the most about Witsel as a Zenit fan. I think he would be a great addition to your lineup as he can control the midfield and provide some goals as well.

Chico What a smashing of Napoli in the Champions League group stage, but tough to concede the 90th minute goal against Manchester City. Your B-team had some mixed results, with that Getafe game being marred by a red card for you. You exploded against Valladolid though with 5 goals. Hopefully Gomez and Campana can find there form after a tough month and don't turn out to be busts. 10th place sounds pretty bad, but when you consider you're only 4 points off 1st, it really isn't. A solid month next time will have you back on track.

Other comments - texasbum, I'm glad you're enjoying my Terek manager mode. I should have another update on it tomorrow. There are a lot of quality players in the Russian League, so hopefully my updates educate people on the talent that plays there. I wasn't sure how interesting people would find this one, so it is nice to hear it is well received.

Keano - Yes, I was happy with the transfers. Hopefully Sarkisov or Burmistrov can turn into my number one striker as Ailton has really underperformed. Mitrishev is still making a case for playing time though, so nothing will be handed to these guys. Mogilevets and Khodzhaniyazov are two youngsters from Zenit that I think can turn into real players down the road, especially Khodzhaniyazov. The month was pretty lackluster thanks to that horrible result against Tom Tomsk and Dinamo's 90th minute winner, but I can accept the draw with CSKA and the win over Rostov. I just need to ride out this tough stretch and find some more goals, and we'll be OK.

I didn't know that about him, I don't know much about the Russian players or league in general and it's interesting to hear about it from someone that does. Torbinsky was defiantly the main attacking source for them but was usually out muscled before he could do to much. I'm glad to hear that you like the Witsel transfer because after seeing some of his stats in the scouting report he is looking like a good addition.

Palacio has been in great form for you! Those are some nice targets you have and I'd go for Coleman out of the 3 RBs firstly. Then Depay, Vietto and Wistel in that order. Good luck!
Palacio has been fantastic for me and has not decreased at all which I am very thankful for and hope that it doesn't happen for quite a long time. Coleman is my top target for sure and I agree with Depay next, but I think I will go for Witsel before Vietto. Icardi really is starting to play better and be more involved and I think I will give him a little bit longer to prove himself.

                                Ha Ho He

                                October 2017

                                SC Freiburg 1 - 1 Hertha BSC
                                Hoffer 4'
                                Ramos 89'

Freiburg did not deserve a point from this game and was clear that everyone from Hertha were frustrated. Even Hoffer's first time wonder goal from outside the box came following a pass that Abdul Baba did not even try to intercept even though the ball rolled right past him. Then Freiburg parked the bus and finally in the last moments of the game Adrian Ramos shot the ball into the bottom right corner after getting into the box. A disappointing result against an opposition that didn't even try to play football for the last 45 minutes.

                                Hertha BSC 1 - 1 SL Benfica
                                Naldo 90'
                                Talisca 64'

Another game, another opponent that parked the bus. Only Julio Cesar, horrific defending from Hertha and the bus saved Benfica from losing this game. The first half offered nothing special but the second half begun badly for the Berliners. After the hour mark the whole defence line moved to the right leaving dozens of metres of space on the left (image above). Anderson Talisca turned around his marker in the middle and easily headed in the ball from a cross just after the defensive massacre. The Portuguese side pulled everyone back for the last half an hour but Naldo's header from a cross was enough to ruin their evening.

                                Hertha BSC 1 - 1 Hamburger SV
                                Ramos 25' pen
                                Mancuello 38'

Jesus. Christ. Third. Game. Of. The. *******. Month. Where. The. Opposition. Parked. The. *******. Bus. The Berliners got the lead under half an hour into the game when Adrian Ramos converted his penalty but the lead lasted under fifteen minutes. A cross was sent into the box by HSV and Diego Benaglio dive missed the ball. The unmarked Mancuello had a very easy job putting the ball into the net. What happened in the second half? That's right, HSV parked the bus.

                                Round of 32
                                Hertha BSC 2 - 0 Heidenheim
                                Selke 7', 83'

                                Simulated.

                                FC Schalke 04 1 - 3 Hertha BSC
                                Choupo-Moting 45'
                                Ramos 34' pen, 83', Kalou 79'

Finally a game where Hertha's opponents didn't defend with ten men! The Berliners got the lead after the half an hour mark thanks to Adrian Ramos' penalty but ten minutes later Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored with a beautiful long shot. It took until the 79th minute for Hertha to break Schalke down as Salomon Kalou dribbled inside the box and curled the ball into the bottom right corner. Only a few minutes after that Ramos got a brace from a counter attack.

                                Player of the Month

                                Adrian Ramos

The Colombian striker picked his second Player of the Month award in a row after having another good month in October. It wasn't as good for him as September but Ramos still managed to score four goals and assist one more. The re-joined striker has proved to be important for his team and the supporters have been extremely happy about the successful return of the 31 years old man.

                                My Thoughts

Six games, three wins and three draws (against poor teams if we exclude Benfica). That is very, very bad for a team that wants to challenge for the title. Luckily Bayern lost some points and we're still leading by a nice margin. The Champions League group is looking alright and there's no way we won't progress in the competition. Now that that's out of the way, here comes a little rant.

Who decided that adding time wasting into the game was a good idea?! Because that guy deserves to go to prison. Yes, I know that teams are supposed to do that in real life but I can't remember a single time any team that was drawing the game decided to pull everybody back. Maybe in the last five to ten minutes if it's a CL/EL game but not in the league. Also, it didn't happen during the 60th or the 70th minute, it happened in the last ten minutes.

Then we have the whole running to the corner flag thing that everybody hates. Throw the person who created that feature in a prison, as well. I can remember it being done just a single time in recent times: in Real Madrid's game against Sevilla ran there in the 89th minute and lost the ball after ten seconds. He didn't go there twenty minutes before the end, he went there two minutes before the end. In FIFA you don't have two minutes left to score, you have twenty seconds if your halves are five minutes long each. That's complete bullsh*t.

Let's move to other annoying stuff in the game. Keepers running past the ball, letting it go out of play and not catching it from corners. The keepers were meant to be realistic and smart this year. The time it takes for the referee to stop the play and give the card. It takes two or three ingame minutes for him to run to the player and give the faul. You can't skip this. The fullbacks not running back to defend and them playing as centre backs and vice versa. Just... no. Also, they always leave someone unmarked. The "stay back while attacking" instruction. It's broken. No matter who I use it always feels like the player is set to play as a striker instead of him staying back. And I won't even get into the career mode flaws. That's all that comes to my mind at this moment but I'm sure there are many more annoying things that I just can't think of right now.
