Why can't they just make the game sim while having it still be accessible to the casuals like other sports games do? All I really want is to be able to call cover 3 and not get beat by a tight end seam. Like wise I want to be able to call a cover two zone and have my intermediate defenders not give up an easy completion on a quick slant. I know "sim" may be different to everyone but I just want fundamental football to be respected. I want coverages to take away what they are supposed to, I want formations to have the same strengths and weaknesses they have in real life. I want lockdown corners to be lockdown corners, I want a linebacker covering a slot guy to be a mismatch.

I wish I could say more, but just know that Rex and company are FULLY devoted to creating a simulation football game, that is first and foremost their number 1 priority. EA is a company and it's a business and they have to try to make $ but Rex and the developers are pushing hard for simulation and people will start to see in Madden 16 and future titles that they are serious about this and trying to deliver what we are asking for. They have a plan and it may take longer than most people would like, due to the past mistakes and issues created, but they are working towards something and I believe it will be very special. Going back to Madden 15 I believe I called it the "Turning Point" of Madden and I believe Madden 16 will be the "Head Turner" for this franchise. The game is going to IMO, make some of the doubters believe, but some will still remain doubters due to expectation and EA's track record in the past. Like Rex said, they have a lot of gameplay improvements/features yet to be announced and according to his post, they will be coming in the weeks leading up to E3, so we should have plenty to talk about even before June 15.Firstly congrats on making it down to Tiburon, becoming a EAGCer or whatever seems to have happened since you got to play the game early, you earned it, imo, with all the support you have put behind Madden and trying to keep people informed. I mean that sincerely too, not as some back handed compliment, know how things can get twisted on a message board, smh.
Now about that bold, no, just plain no, realism is realism, ie "sim" when talking about game play, which is what Rex heads up, if I'm not mistaken. Please don't perpetuate that notion, sim in relation to game play is getting whatever applicable elements as realistic as reasonably possible, period. It aint nothing to do with various opinions of what "sim" means, sim has nothing to do with a stat engine, a text sim or any of that stuff, in reference to game play.
That said, people have various preferences with the amount of "sim"/realism they enjoy for game play and that's fine BUT that still shouldn't impede Rex or anyone else at Tiburon from making the game play as realistic as reasonably possible, due to options, sliders and settings being capable of being utilized for catering to those preferences.
FWIW, the GC'ers and the rest of the guys are FAR from hype men, I'll explain more when NDA allows.Last edited by jpdavis82; 05-17-2015, 08:14 PM.Comment

I'm happy for you man but I'm sorry much like some other game changers I can't take what you say seriously. You have been spouting the same thing going back many maddens ago, it's always "just wait", "this dev is gonna change the way things are done","they want to make the game we want", "this is year 3 of their 3 year plan". You take a different more optimistic approach than many here and that's fine but just like we do with EA we are judging you on your past and yours is just as spotty as theirs. I don't want to seem like I'm attacking you its just that you have cried wolf in the pastI wish I could say more, but just know that Rex and company are FULLY devoted to creating a simulation football game, that is first and foremost their number 1 priority. Re: Some Madden NFL 16 Features Revealed, Pre-Order & Deluxe Edition Details
Amen and the best thing about getting the fundamentals sound is it actually makes the game more accessible, not less. For example, besides the fact that just being able to see context play out for why something happened helps, it makes far more sense that if someone can't stop something in madden or figure out some concept, that they be able to search the answer out in a NFL football context vs some Madden strategy. Why can't they just make the game sim while having it still be accessible to the casuals like other sports games do? I understand your skepticism, I just ask that you be open to what I'm saying because I've been around here for a long time and I'm not here to do anything but inform people of what I know, that I can say, and shoot people straight. WR/DB interactions are one of several gameplay features that I think people will be incredibly impressed with. When Webb pulls Brown's arm away from the ball as he tries to catch it in the trailer, is just a small taste of what's coming.I'm happy for you man but I'm sorry much like some other game changers I can't take what you say seriously. I like the sound, but when it comes to Madden I judge with my eyes. I hear you man, I don't question the devotion of Rex or anyone else, I just question how much can actually get done and pan out with all the seeming challenges to achieving that goal. Also, even IF everything that's touted actually works or at least allows Madden to turn a corner, I'm still left waiting for the other shoe to drop. For Madden 16 and beyond, it's what's not been done/fixed that will ultimately determine how I receive the game as a whole. Some of that actually isn't fair to the game play team, with regard to things out of their purview like presentation, CFM, etc but it is what it is.I wish I could say more, but just know that Rex and company are FULLY devoted to creating a simulation football game, that is first and foremost their number 1 priority. Let's say for Madden 16, game play is finally tolerable for me again but CFM still is what it is, that's still frustrating. Right now I just don't play it period but liking the game play without a immersive career mode to accompany it would be gaming torture, lol.
Is there an implied ETA on when they believe Madden will be a complete, not perfect, football game?Comment

CFM is honestly what worries me the most. It's been three years since CCM was introduced and there have been virtually no advancements in terms of player personnel or staff and it looks like it could potentially be more of the same this year with changes to the scouting and draft which I thought was one of the few things that didn't really need to be touched. You can't even look at attributes of guys in free agency. It's just a mess.Comment

A-freaking-men. I'll lose my you-know-what if we see OCs and DCs. And not those BS ones in "game prep."CFM is honestly what worries me the most. Re: Some Madden NFL 16 Features Revealed, Pre-Order & Deluxe Edition Details
I third that about CFM and imo the lack of a progressive injury system, ala HC09, with true NFL statuses (probable, doubtful, etc), is just as egregious, if not more so, than missing penalties, lack of offsetting penalties and choosing what to challenge. ( both of which were in an older game). It's baffling when the stadiums in CFM have a wear and tear system but not the players.Comment

Fellas fellas fellas, y'all know the drill. Tiburon releases game features and promises this is gonna be the madden that's gonna change the balance of world power. Game changers, and Mods co sign on it and begin their you guys should believe what they are saying, mantra.
I say, tiburon. Put up or shut up. One brief vid of your game doing exactly what you are advertising on the box will silence the critics and make the skeptics optimistic.
I wish Ryan moody could show any 3 of his vids on national TV, in a Congressional session, judge Judy, the commissioner of the NFL, to John Madden himself, and make his case as to why we need someone else making football a football game. Then challenge anyone on the planet, especially tiburon, to show footage refuting those 3 vids and demonstrate why tiburon should be making this game. My crusade is changing.
If we can't get another publisher to make a football game, then maybe we can get the publisher to get another development team to make their game. I'm tired of this BS.Comment

When every year a cat praises a thing and it never hits, that cat becomes a hype man by default whether he likes it or not.
Nobody whos been on this train all these years are gonna take any of this seriously. Its an automatic dismissal player, and Tiburon earned that over years of fumbling the ball. We're gonna wait for footage like always. Thats when the truth comes out.Comment

Well I enjoyed M15 and look forward to what M16 brings.
Far from perfect but M15 was an enjoyable game.
Hope we do get some CFM love but more importantly to me more sim aspects on the field.
Lastly I'd love a real coach mode..
Please try and keep the conversations on M16 or else the thread will be closed.Joshua:
