    Suck at RTTP

Im really struggling in the unrestricted seeds. I either get beat by a guy who just drains 3 after 3, while my guys are blowing open mid range or i face charge after charge.
    This is my lineup

    Any suggestions or advice?
    Much appreciated

Don't worry, man, you have enough time to beat RTTP because we're still in May. I bet it back in January and I'll give you a few pointers to help you:

      1. First off, run the Spurs playbook like the other poster recommended. They have a variety of different plays that range from high/low post action, BUNCH of PNR plays, and my favorite, catch and shoot off screens. I love using Onyx Dirk since he's a great shooter. Seldom to see a big man knock down 3's like that (2K f**ked him over w/ that 85 standing 3 rating, dude shot near 40%3PT in '06).

      2. Just play defense. You have athletic wing players but the only ones that come off to me as solid defenders are MJ and KD. Personally, I enjoy running w/ Ruby Jimmy, Kawhi, Sapphire George, Sapphire Deng, and Gold CP3 since they're all fantastic defenders. You should also start Russell at the 5 because he's given me a lot of trouble despite me having Emerald Whiteside, Onyx Zo, Gold Timmy, and Sapphire Yao. Try to also play on-ball defense.

      3. Be PATIENT, PATIENT, PATIENT!!! Run your offense at a moderate rate and run only when you need to. If he/she hits a 3, don't worry about it and come back down the court forthe best shot. If he/she starts knocking down a few shots and you have no answer, call a timeout.

Hope this helps. Sounds very simplistic, yet effective. Coming from a guy whose beaten the first seed like twenty different times.

Thanks for the help man, I'll take all this into consideration next game. what players do you think I should ditch for the more defensive options?

No problem, man + pertainin to your question, you should try to go after the players I already mentioned, sans Gold CP3. Judging by your team, it really shouldn't be challenging getting the Sapphire wing players. Both Deng/George have an 88 standing 3 ball and 90+ on ball defensive I.Q. Kawhi is a deadly shooter (89/87 mid-range ratings) who could hit the 3 ball and guard quick point guards. Everytime I've gone up against an Onyx Ray Allen, Kawhi is the dude that locks him down. Tbh, I really can't give an assessment on Ruby Jimmy bc I just got him but he's similar to the rest. Out of these four, I usually like to run 3 at a time, switching up matchups to keep it fresh. Placing Kawhi on point guards also allows me to get away w/ playing Sapphire Curry who is an undersized defensive liability.

Depending on the state of your team, these guys are great. Also, don't try to get persuaded into buying Onyx Artest/Iggy. They're great but are complete bricklayers, a la Bob the Builder (lol) on the offensive end.

My experience with some of these players is different. Iggy's got an easy release and a 99 dunk rating on top of being one of the best defenders in the game. And guys like MJ and Dr J are great defenders themselves so I can't fully agree with taking those guys out, either. The only guy I'd switch out is Harden, Ruby Klay/Onyx Hondo/Onyx Iggy are great 3 and D guys. LBJ is also a better defender than Durant but you can get away with one average defender on each of your lineups (Lillard/KD).

If you read my first post in this thread, I never said anything about taking MJ out. If anything, I was praising MJ and KD. MJ is the GOAT perimeter defender, IMHO. As for Julius, he's been easy to score on for me because he's weak in the PNR from my experience. We could agree to disagree on Iggy.

As for Ruby Klay, I completely agree with you. He has an insane 94 on-ball defensive rating (too high, Jimmy's should be 94+) along with a 97 three. Don't remember much about Onyx Hondo's defense when I played against him but he might be the best shooter in the game. The amount of contested 3's he hit in Kawhi's eyepiece was ridiculous. The bastard I played against damn near won the game if it wasn't for Kawhi's offensive putback at the buzzer and Dirk going off in OT.

Lastly, I know LeBeta (can't stand him, great player though) is a better defender than Durant... at least in 2K, but he's so common. Everyone but me has him. I could imagine even the OP has him. I tried to give the OP a few different players who play solid defense.

                    Re: Suck at RTTP

To be honest, I actually bet the first seed back in January with a different lineup. Since I only have 196 total cards, I don't have these guys anymore sans the unsellable sapphire cards but let's look at the comparison:

                    January lineup -

                    PG - Sapphire Wall
                    SG - Ruby Frobe
                    SF- Sapphire George
                    PF - Ruby KG
                    C - 2000-01 Mutumbo (underrated card)
                    Sixth man - Sapphire Curry
Rest of bench - Gold Wade, Kawhi, Gold Duncan, Noah, Ruby Hondo, '98 Rodman, Sapphire Lenny

                    Since then:

                    PG - Gold CP3
                    SG - Ruby Jimmy (testing)
SF - Sapphire Nique (great on O, headless chicken on D)
                    PF - Onyx Dirk
                    C - 2006-07 Sapphire Yao
                    Sixth man - Sapphire Curry
Rest of bench - Sapphire Westbrook, Kawhi, Onyx Zo, Emerald Whiteside, Sapphire Deng, Gold Duncan, Sapphire George.

I love my guys and they're great but I could only imagine the damage I would cause if I had one of these overpowered teams w/ all 94+ rated guys.

This may sound completely redundant but if anyone has an Onyx Wade that they want to sell for a player(s) in return, that would be great. My all time favorite player and the ONLY card in the game I want.

Can someone help me build a 3 gold line up? Having trouble stopping the 3. Seems like everyone I play hits every three. Last game a guy went 30/40 and its not like they were wide open. I'm running w Westbrook all badged, melo, and pg. looking for silvers to surround or to replace pg. don't have a fortune to get mj or something. Thanks

My favorite silvers are Dragic, Belinelli, Korver, Caron Butler, David West, and Tyson Chandler

When I ran the 3 man Gold lineup back in November, my 3 were Zebo, Melo, and Noah. The most effective lineup I ran was Wiggins/Courtney Lee/Melo/Zebo/Noah. Hated running Wiggins at the 1 because I'm Chris Smoove's side for not playing players out of their natural position but he was the only player that could slowdown the Zach LaVine cheese. Remember to always have a strong frontcourt. Inside-Outside before Outside-Inside.

Play Melo at the 4, PG at the 3, find an athletic defensive 2 man, shouldn't be hard tbh.

Courtney Lee, Wes Mathews, Danny Green, Dee Brown, Victor Oladipo (probably the best overall silver shooting gaurd.)

Oladipo is fantastic, but if you're looking for a defensive SG, then: Jimmy Butler. He also has 99 Stamina. Otherwise, for 3-and-D purposes, I'd still also rather go with Klay than Oladipo. No offense to Oladipo, whom I will always love for transition dunks.
