I hope you are right. Madden has surprised in the past just not very often. Btw, many people comment on how hard it is to implement or improve areas of Madden. I was under the impression that their new programming tools made it easier and faster to make changes and even test them. -

By looking at the Calvin Johnson screen shot I would say they got another wrong face for him. cause it looks nothing like him except the skin tone.

No thanks. Far too much contrast. Loses realistic coloring of the sun in the Luck pic - essentially ignoring the sun. I will say though that effect is overdone by EA in the first place. Missing a happy medium here.Just to kind of reiterate how much better the game could look in my opinion if they adjusted the colors and lighting. As with the others I made, these aren't perfect by any means but they just show the issues with colors and vibrance in-game.

Not shocking that half this forum gets excited when they see ramped up contrast and darkened gamma scales all the while ignoring image accuracy... this is why LED's sell so well *rolls eyes*

I was gonna say that... Although under the right settings LED has some of the best picture out there (aside from UHD and OLED)... Back to Madden I do feel that turning up the contrast brings out the coloring of the jerseys, but at the cost of details of the players for example scuff marks on their helmet, skin textures, etc... I noticed someone say that it doesn't look like Calvin Johnson as well... from the little bit of face i can see with a helmet on, to me it looks just like him. My team plays them twice a year I see him enough lol.No thanks. Far too much contrast. Loses realistic coloring of the sun in the Luck pic - essentially ignoring the sun. Even look at this photo of Luck in the sun. The contrast is pretty darn high.

And these are some of the pics I've touched up on last year's Madden and it looks so much better.



But there's much more to Madden's graphical flaws than just the contrast of the game. It goes way beyond that. To the average consumer, yeah it probably looks slick, but for those who really watch the NFL, it's way too off.
- Character models for the most part are too cartoon-ish. Slim torsos, muscular legs and arms.
- Equipment is outdated by about 5 years now. There are still Reebok gloves that no one wears anymore, while their PRIMARY manufacturer of the league, Nike, doesn't even care that their latest gear isn't in the game. No gloves or cleats. Why is RG3 the only one to have the single arm sleeve when guys like Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman, and Nate Washington have it in real life? Why is there no option for that? Before EA comes up with some excuse about how it's not possible for the character models or whatever, look at NCAA 14. By the way, that game also had the newest equipment at the time of release.
- Texture is off. Actually, there ISN'T even any texture. Look at the arm sleeves that the players wear in the game. It literally looks like somebody painted their skin with some colour. The way jerseys look and crease, it's not close to real life. Ditto for the numbers on the jersey. They should at least look like it's on top of the jersey.
- Cloth physics. How are there no cloth physics still in this game when they have the Xbox One and the PS4 to work with? I don't get it. Peyton, Romo, and Rivers should have the loose sleeves. The towel physics are so stupid, it's ridiculous. In the game, it's as if the towels actually have weight to them as they just sit still most of gameplay. Why can't they also put the towels on the opposite side, the front, or the back? I don't know.
I'm probably nitpicking, but it's fair because I am a consumer. Madden touts how their football games are so close to the real life counterpart, yet it couldn't be further from the truth. I'm gonna keep buying Madden because it's the only NFL game coming out, and I love the sport of football too much to not buy it. I agree with this 1000%But this was probably done by photoshop of some kind and it's still better than what Madden gives us. He does say that it's not perfect as he was merely messing around. I'll take little too high contrast over greyed out, dull looking photos.
Even look at this photo of Luck in the sun. The contrast is pretty darn high.

And these are some of the pics I've touched up on last year's Madden and it looks so much better.



But there's much more to Madden's graphical flaws than just the contrast of the game. It goes way beyond that. To the average consumer, yeah it probably looks slick, but for those who really watch the NFL, it's way too off.

This has been a legacy issue with the other EA Sports games as well. Just look at the FIFA jerseys, the numbers have always been stretched out and look like they are painted on instead of stitched on. It seems as though EA Sports have never been able to define the jerseys & equipment as a separate entity to the players themselves.- Texture is off. Actually, there ISN'T even any texture. It's my opinion that this is why they don't include mouth guards and similar equipment. If you look at the armbands, sleeves, towels, and even the hats that the coaches wear, they all look so cushioned, big and fake. They have yet to be able to reproduce authentic looking gear to coexist with the funky human models already in place.Comment

I agree with most of that actually, but correct me if I'm wrong, didn't NHL 15 make the cloth/jersey part a separate layer from the player model? How it moves and flows with the momentum of the players? I think it was overdone in some areas, but I mean it's a step in the right direction. Not to derail the thread, but Kolbe is in charge of CFM now? Where does that leave Looman?I believed that (and still may do so after the fact) until I listened to Kolbe today.(formally of MLB The Show, who is now in charge of CFM)
He said he worked all last year on MUT to get MUT fixed and all up and running. He is now in charge of CFM and said the resources this year were put into game play and CFM.
So, we will see what the outcome of that is.Comment
