Go for it. The more dynasties, the merrier. Loving the activity here recently.

That's the goal. Like Bryan said, we just need to get past Navy, and they had a down year last year. I know we can beat everyone else on the schedule.

Definitely. I actually started using Army in an OD recently, so I'm learning the ins and outs. We'll see how it goes!

Thanks Bailey. I use my tablet to take photos, and I almost always use the 4 highlight pics at the end of the game for game recaps. I use gifmaker.me for putting them in "slideshow" format.

I've also been stalking everything in the baseball section lately, can't wait for more updates from your Marlins 'chise.

Miami, San Antonio, New Orleans to host next 3 CFP Finals

UConn fans may be booking vacations over New Year's 2018, 2019 and/or 2020.

While it is still too early obviously, we do know where the College Football Playoffs will conclude in each of the next 3 seasons.

Miami, to virtually no one's surprise, won the bid for this season (2018), and will host the winners of the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl for the College Football Championship. Since beginning to host Miami football in 2008, the stadium has hosted the 2009 and 2013 BCS National Championship Games, won by Florida and Alabama, respectively.

The Alamodome in San Antonio will host the 2019 College Football Championship, taking in the winners of the Orange and Cotton Bowls. The Alamodome has never hosted a college football championship, and currently holds UTSA's football team.

Finally, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome will host the 2020 College Football Championship. The host of Tulane, the Superdome hosted 4 BCS Championship Games, and has hosted the Super Bowl as recently as 2013. The Superdome will host the winners of the 2019 Fiesta Bowl and Peach Bowl.

The Dawn of a New Era

Bob Diaco and Jim Mora are building rising monsters at UConn and UCLA, respectively. Mora, ringmaster of the two time defending college football champions, are back and looking for an unprecedented 3rd in a row. Even so, they are flying well under the radar as they enter 2nd in the opening AP Poll, trailing LSU. LSU happened to be the only team to top UConn between October and January last year. UConn rolled into the Rose Bowl before falling to the Tigers, but return a lot off last year's team and firmly believe they can beat anyone in the country. UCLA is looking to end all doubts of their college supremacy. Can they make it 3 in a row?

Hard to believe you're not opening the season ranked. "Others Receiving Votes" is good I guess, but the team should use that as a chip on their shoulder.

I can see it. The defense is breaking in enough to warrant concern, but we had the same problem last year with 3 or 4 new linebackers and look where we ended up. But with the first game being against Virginia, if we win we should be in.

ALSO: I am renaming bowl games, as I mentioned last season, through the editor. To figure this out now for news stories, if you have any ideas for bowl names/sponsorships/locations, PLEASE let me know via pm or post! Looking forward to hearing what you folks have to say.

P.S. RoundingThird? Psshhhh. I'll call you Po1soNNN instead.

Hey, I needed a change. The name RoundingThird describes my status much or the time, in terms of baseball. Thought it fits, especially since I'm going to the Sox game tomorrow. (Don't mean to brag... )

As for your bowl games, how about a little CT touch? I'm thinking the ESPN Headquarters presents The Pratt and Whitney Bowl, played at Pratt's old runway, which is now the Rent.

Well it is Oklahoma State, so you're allowed a mulligan there. Amazed Kurt Warner's debut didn't go better.

Rourke, UConn defense stifle Cavs in ridiculously low scoring game

Before I begin, I have but one question. What sport are we playing? I thought a football game couldn't finish 13-3 anymore? Ah well.

UConn erased any questions about the strength of the defense with several new starters by blasting out of the gates with a bang, holding the 24th ranked Cavs to only 3 points. Highlighting the defense was mega-freshman Sam Rourke, who arrived on the campus over the summer to usurp the right end spot away from returning starter Quintin Harrell and talented backup Cole Ormsby.

Rourke's 5 tackles and pair of sacks both paced UConn on the day, and garnered him player of the game honors in his first ever game. Not a bad start, I must say.

Another reason that this game was funny is that 10 of the game's 16 points -- including its only touchdown -- were scored in the first quarter.

Virginia tacked on a field goal to start the game, but UConn responded as Bryant Shirreffs fired the game's only TD pass to Tommy Myers from 24 yards out, breaking a tackle from Quin Blanding at the goal line.

Quickly after that though, the offense disappeared. And never came back.

UConn had a drive going well past the 50, but after a catch, Thomas Lucas fumbled the ball away to Virginia's Zach Bradshaw.

A series of three and outs ensued and strung into the second quarter. Virginia missed a field goal in the second.

UConn went 3 and out. Corwin Cutler was sacked a pair of times and UVA punted.

True frosh Tyler McCray missed a 39 yard field goal short.

The momentum permanently swung UConn's way though when Jamar Summers made the biggest play of the game. With Virginia driving, Cutler hit his marks right before the half, connecting with Andre Levrone for a 23 yard play. With a timeout, the Cavs elected not to use it while they had UConn's D off-balance.

They got the play off, and Cutler fired to the house looking for Levrone again. Summers got in front of him as the ball drifted to the corner, and Summers lept to make the INT and end the Virginia scoring threat to preserve the 7-3 lead into the half. One in a long line of key defensive plays.

UConn's first drive after the half was stopped short, and McCray kicked a 32 yard FG to give a 7 point cushion. UVA went 3 and out.

UConn pulled off another long drive with Josh Marriner, who ended the day with a phenomenal 155 yards rushing, did most of the dirty work. McCray tacked on another field goal just seconds into the 4th quarter.

Rourke held up a screen on the Cavs' next drive, and forced another punt. From there, UConn wore down most of the rest of the clock, that is until Shirreffs threw an INT with 1:30 to go to Kirk Garner.

UConn delivered the dagger a few plays later up 13-3 when Quintin Harrell, the converted-from-defensive end mountain of a linebacker, dropped back 50 yards in coverage and made the game sealing INT of Cutler.

Harrell is just a reminder of the ridiculous versatile talent that UConn is stockpiling. When the defensive end didn't fit anymore, Coach Diaco and DC Marty English moved him where he could play, and made a difference. UConn's incredible knowledge and execution on defense is how they won. Because the offense sure didn't show up.

Navy next ladies and gents. Biggest game of the season arguably. See ya there.

Good defensive showing against UVA. Good god 155 by Marriner on almost 6 yards a carry...where did that come from! Sucks he couldn't get a score. This upcoming game against Navy is going to kinda dictate where this UConn team goes this year...hopefully this defense can stop that option...
