6 FIFA officials arrested, as many as 15 taken into custody. Wow. It's about time.

Blatter was not arrested, but it will be interesting to see if any of the arrested officials will flip on Blatter in exchange for a deal.

Suffice it to say I'm blown away by this, but GOOD.

It also seems the DOJ is going to try and get RICO charges brought up, which is HUGE.

            Also, this happened:

Now they have executed a search warrant at CONCACAF headquarters.

High ranking FIFA officials might be taking vacations to countries that don't have extradition treated with the US.

I'd bet a lot of money that Scotland Yard and INTERPOL get involved now.

Best part about it is they were arrested while doing what they do best. Holding lavish meetings at a fine hotel. Tasty.

"This is the World Cup of fraud and today we are issuing FIFA a red card."

I'm fairly certain he spent a lot of time coming up with that one.

Reading more into this, this seems like these arrests are going to affect CONCACAF and CONMEBOL moreso than FIFA. FIFA's turn will come whenever someone with arresting authority finally digs into the World Cup bids (which this case only seems to scratch the surface on).

The Swiss are launching the investigation on the future WCs as we speak.

It's pretty appropriate that we're using our RICO laws to bring down FIFA like we brought down Al Capone.

I always figured this Traffic marketing company was some kind of shady outfit, but DAMN. The owner is forfeiting $150 million.

It's about time. I mean, this is like the most openly corrupt organization in the world (rivaling governments) for at least the past 5 decades if not more...this is a "I'm shocked - SHOCKED - to find that gambling is occurring in this establishment"-type situation...

Still...they got Frank Niti, they got Machine Gun Kelly, they got Ricco...but the big man is still walking free.

The one thing I've learned from all of this is CONCACAF used to be run by Santa Claus.
