Re: Madden NFL 16 Connected Franchise Details Revealed

Sim a Win is the biggest addition on this list to me. Practice and scouting are also bullet points that I'm happy with. The lack of formation subs this far into the series is really annoying though.

Saw the full article with pictures and a couple thoughts:

#1 - Those rookie pictures need to go badly. They look horrible. Please do something else.

#2 - Draft process looks better. It's a bit too simple for me but they seem to have put everything together very streamlined. I think streamline was their #1 focus with everything. It all looks so simple. The True Talent aspect will be interesting.

#3 - I'm afraid to see how the new game prep/confidence system works. Could they have overcompensated and given the user too much control and made it too easy to improve players? I'm just not sure what to expect. Hoping it's balanced.

In an earlier post you mentioned that you disliked how this information was free for everyone, is the combine information not readily available for any team? This is a much more accurate representation than the new scouting system they put in and it is well overdue to return.
Here is my issue, Yes in real life , its free for every team. However unlike real life, your not taking a player with mediocre speed and just dominating in madden, Speed and strength are very important ( depending on position) they kill moreso in madden than in real life.Is a super fast guy in real life really good, yes, but its even more impactful in madden, always has been. Thus i dont care for it. At least the way it was in madden 15, guys had to spend some points to find out a letter grade, thus they couldnt use all their points on too many other things, because you can bet, they checked out a players speed, accel, and strength ( at certain positions) ,this limited how much more they could scout, thus gave greater opportunity to find a guy in the 4th or 5th round , that could come out as a really good player. I just feel, this is gonna take out some of that aspect and make it easier to figure out who is better and once again drafts will be mostly void of the best players after 2 rounds.
      Yup, i said it !

I dont get why this is so hard to add.

I'm starting to think we'll never see formation subs again.

Here's the thing and I just posted about this in another thread, yes things like "Sim a win" and "practice" are good additions, my issue is CFM still doesn't offer a sim experience. If this were some other game or even mode, ie MUT, I wouldn't expect it to be but when CFM is the only career mode in a game alleging realism as priority, I don't get how there isn't even an option for a NFL realistic experience. When I see a mode like MyGM in NBA2k which is basically a more fleshed out version of Association mode of old, in spite of the other more universally accessible modes also available, I don't understand why madden can't do something similar with a fleshed out Franchise mode WITH online capability.

No need to go over every pro and con about the news released because all that matters is do you feel like Madden 16 offers a career mode experience you can enjoy, my answer is no, maybe next year.

They are using the ultimate team depth chart style for the CFM now and that was a great idea. really digging the UI that I've seen so far

I posted this in another thread earlier this month. Last year i recall Clint saying on twitter that formation subs were not a priority last year because they used enough by casual gamers. Only die hard players even kmow what they are

This. I let myself get a little too optimistic that Kolbe from the show worked exclusively on CFM. While they added little things nothing really changed at all. Still no restricted free agents, practice squads, coaching carousel, real depth chart(Sam lb, will lb, special teams), contract disputes/holdouts, position battles, suspensions(highly unlikely), dealing with different agents/player personalities.

CFM just has no life to it, it feels like a bunch of play now games just strung together. Bring the drama of the NFL to us.

So much about these things I don't like but not enough time to write them all out...

My main issue is STILL how scouting works. I hate these unlock attribute point systems. I also hate these goals systems. It again seems like you aren't playing a game of football your playing a game of superstar mode disguised as a team game. I digress...maybe I don't understand the full story yet...

Thanks for the info. I didn't hold out much hope for new features for a 360 version anyway, and now especially if they have the "Legacy Edition" title.
I can't afford a new gen console, so I guess this is a blessing in disguise. I'm too old to play video games anyway.

Xp is great if you are playing as a single player, or gaining xp as a coach to buy coach packages, xp fails as a system for player progression though.

                                No custom plays
                                No custom packages
                                No form subs
                                Special team subs

And the pushing of xp further minimizes player individuality. With this system you can basically turn anybody great with enough attention and dedicated resources. Totally unrealistic.

Also the scouting seems to have gotten easier, so not only can you turn anyone great, you can find a beast to turn into a legend.
