It's not problem if one person is ignorant. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with what orion typed, but I don't think he meant it. It's hard to convey tone on this forum, or on any forum.


EA was bound to know that adding women's soccer into the game was going to cause a stir up, but it's going to happen and it's not a big deal unless there were a hundred more hard core misogynistic views.

There is a way you view yourself, and then there is a way you act.

I'm not sure I read anything that would not make his wife/daughter proud? He didn't degrade, belittle, etc. women. He simply stated that HE didn't think that it was the best use of resources. This, by the way, is a message board. A free one at that, in which we are all allowed to voice our OPINIONS.

The only reason this steps on anyone's toes is because it's gender related.

Let me offer an example that's not gender related...

Madden's game-play needs some work, and things for years have needed fixing/upgrading. But this year, the big ticket item is that they've added some Canadian League teams (only a few--by the way) for us to be able to use in exhibition mode only, so as to try to snag some more of the Canadian market.

So, we haven't fixed any of the issues that have been issues for years, but we've got some new fans of the series. While it would be 'neat' to play with those teams, you can't use them in any actual meaningful game modes, so it's really sort of pointless. Especially considering the meat and potatoes of the game is now getting less time and attention--whether that be a small, or large amount.

I've read a comment in the Youtube comments that, if you take a look at the ball during Sinclair's free kick you can see a white line in front of the ball which would confirm that the magic spray will be on FIFA 16. Nice detail which it was easy to miss during the trailer

What don't you people get here. Do the words I KID have no meaning to you? Again nothing, absolutely nothing that I said is related in any way whatsoever to women, my view of them, their role in society, or their place when it comes to sports and video games. So you're trying to tell me that you're going to spend a significant amount of time playing this mode? If so more power to you, but I would guarantee you just from reading the comments alone that the majority of people could care less for this addition and if OS did a poll on it, it will be overwhelmingly in the favor of who cares.

Yes, I absolutely would spend a lot of time playing women's soccer.

Well, since I have wanted a CFL game, I think it would be a great start, and I would hope it would develop and be a part of the game like the international leagues in the NHL series. Would just a few teams in exhibition mode be enough? No. Might that lead to a full CFL franchise mode? Maybe.

You are either part of making gaming a more inclusive place, or you are part of the backwards way of thinking that keeps putting walls up, finding ways to keep your hobby private and exclusive.

Nobody is putting up walls. Nobody is thinking backwards(ly). Nobody is displaying 'No Girls Allowed' signs. He/we simply think that the time could be better spent--which, by the way, is completely reasonable to desire.

The good news is EA will have metrics on whether or not this feature will be used and/or worth the effort. They will let the marketplace decide and I have no problem with that.

Because it is common sense. In any sort of business....especially one on a hard deadline, finite resources are available and applied to said product/goal. Those resources are more or less static. And FIFA has a laundry list of issues that should and need to be addressed. Instead resources and focus, no matter how little, were used on this feature.
