Attitudes and mindsets like this are exactly why Madden is in the condition it is in today.

LOL. What has 10 years of complaining on this site or the EA forums done? How is Madden more sim? ****, I'd argue that do to social media, Youtube and the increase in internet accessibility the sim community has a bigger voice than ever.

I'd also argue that since Madden 12, this game has gotten less "sim". No formation subs, less customization, sliders that work less than they did before...I could go on and on.

So how is your current approach working? Other than having a place on the internet to vent about how evil EA is.

I'm not saying that you cant discuss what you want to see added. But to expect that they will be and getting disappointed makes no sense when you look at what EA has done in the past.

It all depends on what you want. I've "hung the noose" on Kolb taking the game in a direction that would interest me. CFM has gone even more arcade, stats/goal oriented and farther away from realistic. It's definitely not too premature to make a judgement on where he is headed with CFM.

A lot of people may like the direction and will now have more faith in Kolb. But not me. I hate the direction of CFM. But I somewhat expected I would, so it's not a shock. I greatly appreciate the info we get at OS. Now I know not to purchase.

I'm about convinced that for us to ever have exactly what we want in a football game, it will have to be made by "The Mouse," if you know who I mean, as they own e$pn. When you own that kind of network with those kinds of folks who specifically are popular for something like Kiper or McShay are...that's when you'll get specifically in-the-game what they represent and such.
I'm still playing NCAA 14 and Madden 25...and you know, it's alright.

Well, that was the only part you quoted.

My point was maybe he had to flush all the crap from the past before he starts laying layers with his vision. Hard to tell after 1 year. I know more about the direction after this year.

I know you are not a fan of xp and neither am I, I just don't think they will eliminate it in the near future.

I would prefer a natural progression/regression system with inherent traits such as a potential (The Show system). Performance can have an impact on the overall potential and growth/decline of a player.
There are so many great "realistic" factors that can go into progression that would increase the depth of a (team) career mode. Even things like positions coaches attributes and veterans at the same position influencing progression. Having a potential max on each attribute would create more individualistic players and be much more realistic. But sadly, we are going deeper into the arcade mini-game, stats/goal oriented direction.

Very disappointing for me. Don't get me wrong. I'm not criticizing Kolb trying to say he's doing a bad job. Just that it's not right for me. And it's very far from being right for me.

Whatever he "flushes out" after this year, CFM is already too arcade for me.

I'm not really looking for them to eliminate it (XP). It's already coded and some people like it. I would want a realistic alternative to it. And that just doesn't look like it's happening.

Whatever happened to Josh Looman? When CFM was first introduced I thought that his goal was to get Madden closer to Head Coach 09... I thought they said that since all modes were "connected" that it would be easier to get more improvements in the game from year to year because they would only have to update one mode rather than three?

Maybe it's just me, but I haven't noticed any more year-to-year improvements than there were when it was just plain old franchise mode.

Are things like assistant coaches (or a Coaching Carousel), player morale, position battles, hold outs, etc. just a thing of the past? Are the not adding them in because of time constraints or are they just not priorities any more?

At this point I beginning to think any of that is just a pipe dream. Heck, we can't even edit players anymore. Editing and customization is something that every sports game should have! Let us change drafted players names and appearances as we see fit. Hell, I'm not even asking for a full on Share Feature... I know that's out of the question at this point, but if I want to change a drafted player for my own use, I should be able too.

                        Sorry. /rant

Looman is still around and working under Kolbe. He was managing CFM until Kolbe joined the team.

I love sim football games. I have no idea why anyone demanding a sim is spending time worrying about what EA will do with their games. They are not, and have never been sim. Never.

But they sell really well, and can be really fun if you take them for what they are. Madden 15 is still getting weekly, and at times daily play from me. I love it.

I would buy a new FB sim in a heartbeat. Other than text based sims, there hasn't been one since FBPro 98. Not even the 2K games are actually sim. They are just the greener grass games people want. They were more fun than Madden, but to call them sim is pretty much a joke.

I will lament with all of you about the dearth of sim games and the death of PC sports games. It pretty much sucks. But trying to get some of the best selling video games, let along sports video games, to cater to your sim desires is showing a real lack of awareness.

My guess is that you actually expected Madden to grow up with you, instead of just becoming a better, and better arcade game.

EA threw us a bone in Head Coach 09. If it sold, we would be looking at Head Coach 16 and having a reasonable discussion. But it didn't sell. and EA is not going to spend resources on games that scare off their base.

This goes for every one of their sports games. If you could accept them for what they are, you would realize that many are a lot more fun than you think.

NHL is made by EA. Madden is made by EA. So what you are saying is I should expect the quality of NHL to go into Madden. Well, I am still waiting...

I'm concerned they tweaked it too far the other way, though. I could build four studs per year if I were to load up on XP during the gameplanning session. It was just too easy to make a couple of your drafted players studs by their second season...
