Best PG for 60k MT?
I'm trying to solidify my team for the deeper seeds in RTTP and I was wondering who is the all around best PG for the price. Both Magic and Big O look nice but they have low 3 ratings. I could go cheaper and pick up Ruby Lillard and have some points left to pick up depth. Anyone have some ideas for me?Tags: None -
Re: Best PG for 60k MT?
Aside from what QNo mentioned, you can look into Jason Kidd (On Thursdays), Billups, Tim Hardaway and Earl Monroe.
Oscar is your best option since he has a Sapphire so you'll loose only 10K going after him.Last edited by Rockersdash; 05-30-2015, 10:10 PM.Comment

Sapphire big O is really good, and he's actually a pretty decent shooter. He's much more optimal in the paint due to his size though. I've been needing a solid backup PG too. I don't ever stay with one guy more than a few games.
Has anybody tried ruby Kyrie? I love his handles, and his stats and badges look sooo appealing.Last edited by pro_cow_tipper; 05-30-2015, 10:35 PM.Comment

Ruby Kyrie is great, probably the 2nd best release of any PG after Lillard.Sapphire big O is really good, but he's actually a pretty good shooter. Re: Best PG for 60k MT?
Man if I find him on a bid under market value he's undoubtedly getting purchased. I dropped 102 with him on rookie and 6 minute quarters against my friend who really doesn't play 2k and have needed him ever since haha. I really don't want to go through the painfully time consuming and expensive process of upgrading my gold's badges. Also, after Curry and Lebron, he has my favorite move set. Thanks for the response.
Edit: Cheapest one on PS4 is 105k bid... I saw one for 60k like an hour ago... smhLast edited by pro_cow_tipper; 05-30-2015, 11:23 PM.Comment

Re: Best PG for 60k MT?
it really depends on your playstyle. I think magic is hands down the most dominant point guard in the game. Hes a walking mismatch on offense(unstoppable post hook, great slasher and finisher due to size, respectable jumper and 3) and a lock down defender that can lockdown all the LBJs at PG and guard 4 positions overall.
its shocking how cheap he is, I would easy pay 150k+ for him.
I use the ruby 1 btw who has the highest rated jumpshot of them allComment

Re: Best PG for 60k MT?
I ended up copping him for 62.5k with a gold perimeter lockdown badge so I thought that was good. It'll be a while before I can try him out, because my auction outcomes are so full.
I'm also bidding on a ruby lillard at the moment; so they may be competing for the backup slot.Comment

Re: Best PG for 60k MT?
You can get Sapphire Oscar Robertson for free... The collection costs a little over 60k, but then you get your money back.
I even made a profit
Bought Gold Robertson for 60k, then sold it for 97k...
And yeah, he is great... He knocks down 3s no problem if he's open. He's not an outside shot creator like Curry, Lillard etc. His shot preparation + release is slow but it is reliable. Big O is so versatile, he can grab rebounds, he can defend SG/SF who are played at point guard positions, easily defend zig-zag cheezers with his high shot contest rating. He has great inside game, too. He is a reliable penetrator, and he can bully most PGs in the post.
I have Sapphire Curry on the bench, but I prefer Big O as my starter.
I am even looking to replace Curry with Jason Kidd if I can find a good deal. Just for his defense...Steam(EU): PandaPowerComment

Re: Best PG for 60k MT?
Ruby Gary Payton is a beast on both ends of the court and can get hot in a hurry thanks to his swagger badge.
Oscar and Kidd both have weird shot releases that I just couldn't get down. That's why I prefer to play GP at PG. His stroke is smooth, and unlike Kidd, Payton can dunk the ball, even in traffic. I've posterized a ton of people with GP because his dunk package's animations are so quick and tough to block.
Payton's only weakness is his 75 free throw rating.Last edited by jyoung; 05-31-2015, 01:05 PM.Comment

Re: Best PG for 60k MT?
Ruby magic is the best one i've had. I never really experienced his lack of shooting as a handicap but that's probably because i used a stretch 4 when he was in the lineup (love is my favorite). Three shooters on the floor (sg/sf/pf) is plenty imo. And he's not even that bad of a shooter really (76 3pt) so if he's WIDE open he'll knock some down. Obviously post up and drive (and kick) is his strong suit though.
The only real drawback is defense, i personally had a tough time staying in front of quicker/smaller/normal point guards but that's easily fixed by putting your sg on your opponent's pg. Which is what those lakers did back then from what i've read, iirc byron scott or michael cooper would guard them.
Now, i haven't really tried a lot of the top pg's like jerry west, oscar, onyx rose and kidd so i can't comment on those but i did like him slightly better than ruby payton and a lot better than steph, cousy, penny, stockton, paul, etc.
Unfortunately i had to sell him though and ever since my favorite has been sapphire westbrook but obviously you can't buy him.Comment
