Honestly Toledo, EMU, and Buffalo are perennial doormats. It surprises me that NIU is struggling though. They're a good team every year

If you keep recruiting hard on those guys you're going to bring in a good class. Plenty of 4* guys in there, and honestly the 3* athlete might as well be a 4* position player. Athletes are cheese in this game imo

As a Canadian and hāter of Edmonton, don't keep going after Mike Jones. Not a lot of good comes from Edmonton.

Toledo is really bad right now in game, but they have been strong the past few years IRL. Could be a dark horse top 25 team in 2015.

Definitely agree on the athlete part. I find it nice that I am still not hauling in top-end classes, even now 4 years into the dynasty. I've only had one blue chip recruit (Rourke).

Wow. I could've sworn you were from 'Murica with your favorite teams in your sig.

Anyway, I know you've mentioned you watch MrHurriicane, you'd know that one of his most popular players from his UTSA dynasty was a guy named (I believe) Andre Ross, a 6'7 Canadian linebacker.

First off, how the hell is a 1-3 LSU team ranked..? LOL

More importantly, I love the effort and time you put in to this. Those recruiting updates are sweet. Sure they take a while tho.. Keep it up!

            Thanks for checking in Miles.

LSU started the year A.) at #1 in the nation and B.) have lost to a trio of ranked teams (Auburn, A&M and Arizona State I believe).

The recruiting templates don't take as long to make as you'd think. It took an hour to originally design the template way back in season 1, but it only takes about 5-10 minutes to set one up.

I take a pic of each player's recruiting profile on my tablet, email the pic to myself then edit the photo down to the player's face. From there, I just insert the information, screenshot it and put it in a post.

Are you playing Quinn Shea's games too? Or are you just simming them? And how did Coach Crenshaw let his quarterback go 7-26?! I would've pulled his @ss

Something I just remembered about, how is coach Kurt Warner doing? I don't remember which school he ended up coaching at but we haven't had any updates on him

Not playing Shea's games. His offense is just playing competently, something Sark couldn't get out of Troy last year.

Warner landed at Oklahoma State, and thanks for reminding me, I meant to put him in with the CAC updates, but just flat-out forgot. OK State obviously beat you in Week 1 17-10, but lost to Florida State, lost to TCU off a bye, then beat West VA to get up to Week 6. Warner has this QB by the name of Mason Rudolph (I really like that kid IRL) who has been playing fair, but not like the QB of a top 25 team, where they were at the start of the season.

                    Eye of the Husky

UConn D dominates again, extends home win streak

UConn is for real. This we know after UConn's second half beatdown of the 10th-ranked Tigers, 31-13.

And it's all courtesy of Bob Diaco's stifling defense, which suffocated Heisman candidate Eddie Printz. Printz didn't get in the end zone once, only had 68 yards passing and 56 on the ground, as Missouri struggled to get anything going all game.

The only way Missouri hung in the game for so long was because UConn struggled to get anything going until the second half, either.

UConn got first blood as Ron Johnson capped off a short drive with a 3 yard run, immediately following Damon Mitchell's 51 yard catch.

Missouri responded with a field goal, as Printz scrambles of 26 and 13 were the catalysts to push the deficit to 7-3.

UConn was close to pushing the lead to two scores on the next drive, but fell a yard short as Josh Marriner couldn't quite get to the end zone, and Mike Miller settled for a field goal to make it 10-3.

Printz led Missou down the field again, completing a pair of long passes to Adam Hadley before a Trevon Walters run put the Tigers inside the 10. However, Sam Rourke destroyed Printz on a 3rd and goal, and Missouri added another field goal.

UConn almost pushed the lead to two scores (again), but Bryant Shirreffs threw an INT in the end zone to Shaun Rupert while scrambling away from trouble 30 yards shy of the house. The game was 10-6 at the half.

However, Missouri poured water on the drought as Walters took the opening play of the 2nd half 77 yards to the house for the go-ahead score, 13-10.

UConn and Missouri went 3 and out on consecutive drives, and UConn ended up with the ball again midway through the third. They, too, would end up dipping into the offensive well.

Shirreffs' 32 yard pass to Thomas Lucas got the drive rolling, and Tommy Myers followed that up with a 17 yard catch of his own.

Rashad Harris' 15 yard catch set up a beautifully executed bootleg to goalline tight end Alec Bloom for the 2 yard score, to make it 17-13 UConn.

Missouri went 3 and out again, though, and UConn's offense clicked once again. Myers' 21 yard catch set up a Marriner run of 17, and he punched it in from 2 yards out on the next play, 24-13.

Crossing into the 4th, Missouri needed a score on the ensuing drive. The start was good, as Printz scrambled for 8, but was knocked back 2 by Junior Joseph to set up 3rd and 4. Walters got 3 and a half.

Like pressure? Try being Eddie Printz on that next play. Diaco sent not just the kitchen sink, not just the house, but he sent the hotel, leaving Lawrence Lee wide open.. God was he open....

                    He dropped it.

With UConn breathing a collective sigh of relief, Marriner runs of 8, 12 and 13 gave UConn another TD and a 31-13 lead with time ticking away for Missouri.

Printz, pressing, threw up a lame duck that was picked off by Javon Hadley and sealed up another UConn victory.

UConn is up to 4-0 with their two biggest challenges and achilles heels (Navy, Missouri) out of the way. Marriner is playing inspired ball, rumbling for 540 yards in the first 4 games of the year.

But the question remains, can UConn go all the way? I think the nation saw that stifling defense tonight.

I think we'll be just fine.

D has been playing phenomenal. As long as Marriner can keep the offense going, we can go all the way. Funny that I was unsure of what he could become two seasons ago.

Definitely. I'm about 5 weeks ahead in the dynasty as compared to where I am now, but the CFP race will be very interesting depending upon who does or doesn't lose between now and then. Lot of good teams will contend for sure.

Breathing a collective sigh of relief

UConn erases halftime deficit, ride Marriner to victory

Raise your hand if you thought this would happen to UConn following their convincing win over Missouri last week.

                              Yeah, put that hand down.

UConn is still 5-0, but a bit closer than I'm sure we would've liked following a rather narrow 28-23 victory over Memphis at The Property, extending their nearly 2 year long home win streak.

Following a very strong opening quartet of games, Bryant Shirreffs showed a bit of concern early on as he fired an INT on the first drive to Genard Avery, which allowed Memphis' Jarvis Cooper to take a screen 39 yards for a TD just a play after a 30 yard run of his. Alright.

It didn't get much better, as Shirreffs took a shot in my personal favorite formation, the shotgun spread with Jeff McNeal and Arkeel Newsome right next to each other. Shirreffs threw a bomb to 'Keel, but unfortunately, 6'5 safety Brian Duckett ended up on 'Keel, who is about 5-nothing. I think you see how this might have ended.

The two teams traded 3-and-outs, and Memphis got the ball back when Bray Scott looked for a receiver out right at the 12 yard line. Problem is, you don't ever throw to the right unless the guy is wide open, which he was not. Javon Hadley snatched the duck and ran it back to the pond for the 16 yard pick six to tie the game after 1.

However, Scott would exit a few plays later (out until much later in the game), paving the way for true freshman Erik Harvey to take the reins. After a Memphis field goal to make it 10-7, they took over after a UConn 3 and out and Cooper ran in a 6 yard TD to give Memphis a 17-7 lead.

Tyler McCray's field goal trimmed the deficit back to 17-10 for UConn, but Cooper got another damn screen to go for a big gain (27), and Greg McKillion caught Harvey's first career TD pass to give Memphis a 23-10 lead (they missed the PAT somehow).

Fortunately, Shirreffs got it going, and Thomas Lucas' caught a 44 yard TD, spinning around a defender around while the ball was in air then jetting to the house. But UConn missed a PAT too. (?) 23-16 at the half.

The offense went stagnant for both sides in the second half, though. Shirreffs was sacked to start UConn's first drive, but hit Josh Marriner for 14 and dynamic 2nd year freshman Jeff McNeal for 11. But the drive stalled out following a Curtis Akins sack.

But UConn got the ball back late in the third, knowing they needed a score. Marriner broke off a nice 30 yard run, and Ron Johnson followed a little later with a 12 yard run. Shirreffs capped off the drive with a pass TD to Damon Mitchell from 8 yards out. But with the chance to tie....

McCray missed another PAT. Dafuq? 23-22 Memphis after 3. I need a beer or something, that is just absolutely mind-numbing.

Anyway, UConn's D, finally kicked in gear, forced a fumble following a McKillion catch. Mike Stokes knocked the ball loose as soon as McKillion got a hand on it, and Junior Joseph recovered. Only problem? McKillion's knee was down, and the refs caught it.

Damn it. Fortunately, Travis Lumpkin swatted Harvey's next pass away, and Memphis punted.

Marriner took over the next drive though, and almost single-handedly took UConn down the field, in the process scoring the go-ahead TD with under 4 minutes to go. But again, UConn missed the 2 point conversion (Jon Haden, it is NOT necessary to leap when wide open).

Scott came back into the game for Memphis, and broke off a 55 yard scramble on the second play of the drive.

Yeah. Luckily, all-world freshman Sam Rourke sacked Scott and the defensive backs got hands on the next two passes. Memphis' 4th down convo was no good, and while UConn punted on their next drive, freshman Ross Sinclair's first career INT was enough to win it for UConn.

A win's a win, the way I see it. But Marriner's 173 yards? Heh, dude's on the next level. Closing in on 700 yards in 5 games. Unreal. That was an annoying game, largely because Memphis' offense consisted of scrambles and screens, and vise versa.

Off to ECU next. Winless, ECU next. Can we count it already? Guess not. See ya there.

You must sim special teams plays? No way your kicker misses 2 PAT's with you at the sticks lol. But a win is a win, no matter how ugly it is.
