Re: Madden NFL 16: Penalties Are Finally Going to Be a Thing
Not sure if it's ok to be happy about something Madden related or not.
but, I'm glad they finally did something with penalties. Hopefully this is just the start. Also glad the penalty sliders work now. If the info is true.
I hope that also means all sliders work.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 16: Penalties Are Finally Going to Be a Thing
Exactly. They obviously don't have a great track record of things working as advertised, so I'm hoping to see a higher percentage of penalties in the E3 videos - moreso to prove that they're in and work in the right situations, and then we can hopefully adjust to realistic with sliders from there.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 16 Blog - Penalties and AI Improvements
Offsetting penalties happen ~5 times per year per team, as of 2014. That's with the uptick in certain penalties being called, it was less than 1 per team in 2013.Offsetting does though whether you realize it or not and potentially even more so with these other, thankfully, added/fixed ones. If I'm not mistaken, along with offsetting, simultaneous penalties aren't possible, so even playing the CPU, any one penalty, would prevent another. That's unfortunate if say you draw on offsides on the CPU and then smartly decide to take a shot deep, if your intended receiver gets mauled, circa the new wr/db interactions, there cant be a DPI call and any number of other similar scenarios.
The point being offsetting and multiple penalties are integral parts of the penalty system being complete, them missing diminishes that aspect.
Diminish the system, sure, I guess. But they won't be missed for the most part.Comment

I'm pushing an agenda? LOL. Yall kill me with that bull****. My posts don't back up that bogus claim either. I just know how things have turned out for Tiburon and this series, I'm just stating my opinion. I've been posting here a long time and have always been a straight shooter.Yeah lets just ignore the angry posts I've made about CCM and EA's refusal to add features like Formation Subs. When you do that its easier to paint it as if I love Madden no matter what. LOL. Too bad my actual posts dont back up your argument.
Keep pushing that agenda though.
I hope the penalties work, but it would've been nice if they addressed EVERY aspect of penalties, AND they worked. We have yet to see that, that's the only reason why celebrating it hit me like that. They have a pattern of doing this. They address something, and it's half done, or it doesn't work properly.Last edited by SageInfinite; 06-16-2015, 12:16 AM.http://twitter.com/sageinfinite

Re: Madden NFL 16: Penalties Are Finally Going to Be a Thing
Especially if what they say is true about penalties being called at the league average on default. If we dont see many called, we will know its not working the way it should.Exactly. They obviously don't have a great track record of things working as advertised, so I'm hoping to see a higher percentage of penalties in the E3 videos - moreso to prove that they're in and work in the right situations, and then we can hopefully adjust to realistic with sliders from there.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 16: Penalties Are Finally Going to Be a Thing
I think I saw DueceDouglas post awhile ago that what most people don't realize is that there is an avg of only 6 penalties called per game in the NFL.Exactly. I get that, but I think it's appropriate, at least on my end from all the pounding I've done over the years, to let out a little sigh of relief.I'm pushing an agenda? LOL. A bigger sigh if they work as advertised.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 16: Penalties Are Finally Going to Be a Thing
I think that's about right, of all the Pats games I saw this year and last, about 4-5 penalties. Browner averaged at least 2 a game, and then at least usually one holding call.

Re: Madden NFL 16: Penalties Are Finally Going to Be a Thing
Trust me, I thought it was too.
Oops, you are right, I bet Duece meant per team per game.
How many penalties are called in an average NFL game?
In an average NFL football game, the officials will call around 12-13 total penalties per game. During the 2013 NFL season, the average game say 12.25 penalties called.
Sorry folks.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 16: Penalties Are Finally Going to Be a Thing
Looking at the NFL stats it's 6.6 a game.
Did sound low but guess not.Joshua:

Re: Madden NFL 16: Penalties Are Finally Going to Be a Thing
Sounds low because of the variance, Seattle averaging 9.5/game, Miami just 2.
Get the Seahawks v Denver though and their averages combined are 17.5 in a game.
via figures at http://www.nflpenalties.com/index.php?&year=2014
2014 saw 300 more penalties than 2013 also. (3526 vs 3245) so figures creeped up a touch.Comment
