NBA Live 16 Gameplay Video (IGN)
Like I said in the other thread, the majority of dribble animations look goofy, stiff, and terrible.
Foot planting is quite nice but I actually wasn't a big fan of the Curry floater.
Draymond's head scan looks amazing though, and LeBron's bounce pass was sweet.
Feels like the new captures animations are pretty good-- many pass animations were nice even last year. But the majority of the functional, staple animations seem inherited from Live 10 and Elite 11. They have that hunchbacked, stiff, goofy look. They should completely redo those since those are the animations you see constantly.
Love the clean flat interface design. Feels like they're still one year away from something that looks convincing to me.Last edited by Sundown; 06-18-2015, 03:46 PM.Comment

The only problem with the dribbling I have is that crossover where the player brings the ball all the way up to his head, they should change that to an 'almost cradle.' it's really unrealistic lolComment

For the record, Live 10 was the best Live game ever made.Ignore the midget player models
NBA Live 2006 was the last time EA had a good following. No wonder the game moved like actual people.
I dont give a crap about 2k or Fifa... how about NBA Live?
There is no excuse for the players to be stiff and floaty for almost 10 years now and we as a community can't continue to make excuses for it.
After seeing that video on some real OLD tech, how can you justify this?
Anyway, what animations are you classing as 'stiff' and what one's 'floaty'?
Not disagreeing (yet) just curious because I personally think many (definitely not all) are super smooth and very athletic and lifelike. If we can all agree which one's, it can give the devs an idea where they're going wrong (I'm honestly thinking they are animations carried over from old games and likely even hand animated moves from old).
But the whole 'community putting up with it for 10 years' type thing is just an opinion. Not to start a cross game war in the thread, but there are gamers that feel the competition has been stiff, robotic and pre-determined for 10 years and enjoy what Live is offering.Comment

Not seeing a big change from 15. Least visually. But may feel better when you're in control of the actionComment

I would also like to say as a general thing: basketball games I always think look the worst in videos. No matter how good the player movement is in either game, you just tend to see some things that always seem out of place based on how much is always going on, user error (even worse obviously when people don't know how to play), and so on.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.Comment

I agree. Give that demo to WTF and he'd do wonders with some gameplay vids.Comment

What does EA have against using the backboard on layups?
I hate seeing layup animations where the player just throws the ball in the air and it falls in the hoop.Comment

Ye o didn't think about it until u just mentioned it lol
Really never saw a layup off the glass lol@KingTate84 on twitter.Comment

Their shot animations ate the worse. The ball looks small the rim looks fake and the distance between the hoop and floor seems miles away. Yes they need to incorporate the backboard betterComment

Re: NBA Live 16 Gameplay Video (IGN)
I've been a 2k fan for a long time. Been a while since i played live. I haven't played 14 or 15 but the last couple years 2k has really been going downhill. Yeah, 2k looks prettier but i feel like from this one video that 2k better step it up because live is almost there.
If this game balances defense with offensive vulnerabilities that even half way resemble real ball, this game will be light years ahead of 2k right now.
As of 2ks last patch, the offense holds all the cards. It's so hard to really d any one up.
My determining factor will be if i can play online against another user and actually contain him on a realistic level. Does that mean i don't want him to ever be able to score? Not unless i get beat, and even then i hope some sort of help is there.
Defense is going to be where i spend my money this year.Comment
