I really want to hate on this game. I even had a comment removed by mods from here following the E3 reveal. Madden 15 was my first madden in 4 years, and afterwards I was saying, "Won't get me this year, uh uh" ...

But that E3 reveal really was just to showcase the sensational highlight plays. After seeing all of the gameplay videos, the animations in this game seem to have vastly improved. Looking more 2K-esque in many ways. Yeah, still alot of old legacy animations to just need to be thrown out the window (many QB animations, same kicker/punter animations from PS2, etc.), but overall the game is looking much more dynamic, and '16 is looking noticeably separate from Madden 2001-2015, at least on video ...

Yeah, and for those that may have missed it in the other thread, just a heads up, PI is called in this vid on a pass in the endzone near the end of the clip (around 4:38 or so I believe)

Brown not moving out the way, the cleveland QB not reacting to the fumble, and #99 diving like an idiot (lmfao) ruined otherwise good looking gameplay. Animations still have stiffness to them though but better. The ball still looks weird coming out the QBs arm as well.

The ball still leaves the qb's hand early while his arm is going through the throwing motion. I was hoping this would be part of the re done qb animations this year

I actually kind of like the way Brown handled the play. It didn't really look good because he didn't react. At all. To anything. But had there been some kind of urgency after Bell broke free it would have looked a lot better. I've seen a lot of plays like that, especially out of receivers, where they feel like the play ends and then they're almost surprised to have to keep playing when had they been playing the whole time it could have been huge.

All in all, yeah it looked bad but, to me, that wasn't a completely illogical sequence.

I think the worst thing about it was how he bounced off Brown. They really need to add some kind of natural animation for that context, maybe have the player do his best to avoid contact rather than turn into some limp rag doll.

In terms of the actual sequence, I agree with you, not illogical at all. He's reacting to what's happening in front of him. IMO it looks even more unrealistic to have Brown run off and block a corner out of the play when it looks like his guy is about to be hauled down. Now if it was Hines Ward back in the day...yeah, he'd keep running and blocking just b/c he loved that **** haha.

Antonio Brown is not awesome in this GIF.

I think Madden 16 added a "Sulk" rating. When players feel they aren't getting their # called enough, based on how high their Sulk rating is they will not block or run their routes effectively when they aren't the primary receiver or runner. Great to see in action!

Looks good. Wish brown would have tried to do something though instead of just standing there being in the way. Makes me think WRs should have a block rating that's makes them more or less likely to go after people on run plays.

WR do have block ratings it's just that EA rates them as if they are pop warner players....

They never give WR's a high IMPACT Block rating which basically allows them to make better open field blocks

Every year we get guys rated in the 40's for IMPACT block at WR.....you'd be amazed at what you'd see if they were rated anywhere from 60-80 overall dependent on the individual player of course.

You won't see any lazy half effort blocks by WR if you edit this rating higher than what EA delivers to us every year.

A lot of videos from E3 were on PRO tho, so, that is to be considered.

This level can modified to provide some of the most underated aspects of gameplay...

I meant it was Default Pro, which is a lot different than Pro with your slider tweaks.

Beside Brown just standing their I didn't like that slight pause on that first broken tackle. These are things that make this game look so robotic when in motion.
