JP...I for one really appreciate your insights and great efforts here at OS on Madden. Every year I can count on your threads to get me pumped up for the game. Keep doing the great work you do.

Don't get baited into nonsense. Because it's all just nonsense, noise etc. Some people will never ever think the game does anything right, or plays a game of football. It does not matter. A lot of us have been playing Madden, and enjoy it for what it is. We all want things to be sim...but in the end it will be what it is.

JP that double tackle on Calvin..Wow is all I can say. Not a lot shown but so far this years Madden is looking pretty upgraded animation wise..every tackle seems able to be modified based and added on to. Very clean looking. I'm impressed. I may play this one as much as I did '12

You can't let some of this get to you, you have to realize by now that no matter what EA does there are a segment of people who will never admit that it is good. Just ignore those posts and move on, a lot of us appreciate what you do here. And I have to admit you kept telling us wait for the gameplay stuff (before E3) it will make up for CFM and man were you right about that.

I don't know that I said it would make up for CFM, I think I was saying that it may for some, and that the gameplay was what I was most excited about with M16, but I also know there are a pretty good amount of people on here that are still frustrated because of CFM. I hate it for them and hope that they will stick with it and give it a chance because I feel like the CFM crowd will be very pleased with the future of CFM, in a similar fashion as the gameplay guys are this year.

Yeah JP, even though I am relatively new here, especially posting, I read a lot on OS last year and you seem to have a good view on what is happening Madden-wise. Keep it up! I am from Europe and a lot of people compare certain aspects of Madden to FIFA and how much better FIFA is. Even though I do love the direction that FIFA takes, in Europe we still do a lot of complaining. Thats what games is all about and games will never be able to replicate real life a 100 procent. Rex does his upmost best to make the most out of Madden and he is open about it, very unlike EA in the past. And I think they are beginning to see the light in how much value there is to keep connected to your community and being open about what needs to be improved..Poco a poco Keep it up!

Here's another good example at 3:08, the first two defenders latch on and the 3rd, 4th, defenders jump on him and take him down. Turn on nfl network if you don't think that happens irl.

Looks as close to a realistic tackle as we have ever seen in Madden. Especially how the ball carrier keeps moving after the initial hit and the way he falls when the "gang" arrives.

When you say "as happy as you guys" you mean you are not aloud to talk about it, or because you havent seen any real improvements yet? I asked Clint on Twitter if there is another Twitch reveal like last year, so lets wait and see what he says. Thanks for the comments, we all appreciate it.

I'm not allowed to talk about it so it will be a relief when I can.

I've always been one who has harped on the gang tackling and player interactions during the tackle being poor. It definitely has improved, but it still needs to be refined and built upon moving forward.

Not sure why everyone is jumping on dkp for his comments. The first play of the video that jp gave as an example was an interaction that could possibly use more refinement.

It looks pretty good and believable for passing the eye test, but is think dkp was looking for examples where a pile is stood up and other defenders come in to influence said pile, by driving the pile back. That play was a little basic and I agree that the last two defenders really didn't do much on the play. Not saying the first two guys couldn't have finished the play off and started bring the ball carrier down as the last two got there, but my hope is that there are enough of each of the moments to make it seem fresh and organic each game.

The example BleedGreen710 posted is really nice! Is it possible for the same to happen in reverse where the pile gets driven back? Anyone find any examples of that?

Yes you can push the pile, but I haven't seen it in the videos yet but again it's a small sample size. HBs will try to push the pile, then spin out if they can't push it forward.
