    Portsmouth FC
    FIFA 15 - Season 1

    Pompey's March to the Top

    April & May 2015

    Portsmouth FC 2 - 0 Burton Albion
    POR - McCallum 11', Barcham 19' (PEN)
    MOTM: Barcham

Barcham sent a corner into the box and found McCallum for a looping header over the keeper and into the net. McCallum was brought down inside the box with a poorly timed tackle and Barcham stepped up to convert the penalty into the top right corner.

    Accrington Stanley 0 - 0 Portsmouth FC
    MOTM: Davies

In an uneventful draw, neither team was able to get past the other's keeper. Portsmouth registered only 4 shots and Accrington Stanely only 3. With neither team putting much pressure on the other's goal, both defenses were able to coast through the match and keep a clean sheet.

    Portsmouth FC 1 - 0 Bury
    POR - Barcham 72'
    MOTM: Ertl

Barcham attacked the right side of the box and had his shot kept out by the keeper with the rebound coming right back to him. On his second effort he chipped the ball over the keeper who was still off his line from the save for the deciding goal.

    F.A. Cup Semi-Final
    Aston Villa 1 - 2 Portsmouth FC
    ASV - Delph 50'
    POR - Tubbs 72', Wallace 90'
    MOTM: Cropper

Cissokho played a ball into box and Agbonlahor was able to bring it down and lay it off to Delph in the middle for a quick strike inside the right side of the goal. Wallace got the ball on the right side of the box and made a quick turn and took the ball to the end line before sending a low ball across for Tubbs to stick his foot out and direct into the net for the unexpected equalizer. Barcham's shot was saved by Guzan awarding Portsmouth a corner in the 90th minute. Barcham sent the ball on off the corner and Wallace was able to rise above the defenders and send a looping header over Guzan and into the back of the net to complete the stunning upset and sent Portsmouth to the F.A. Cup Final.

    Newport County 0 - 1 Portsmouth FC
    POR - Olufemi 21'
    MOTM: Olufemi

Olufemi got the ball going down the right wing and used his pace to keep the defender behind him as he cut in towards the goal. He got just outside the right side of the 6 yard box before firing a shot to the top left corner for the only goal of the match from either side.

    Portsmouth FC 1 - 1 Cheltenham Town
    POR - Awford 66'
    CHE - Vazquez
    MOTM: Dunne

Rhead played the ball to Awford inside the box and he used a great touch to turn around the defender and get a free shot on the goal inside the far post. Burns played a perfect ball across the box finding Vazquez through on the far post for the quick strike on the near post.

    Daggenham 0 - 2 Portsmouth FC
    POR - Pack 32', Agyemang 56'
    MOTM: Atangana

Atangana found Pack outside of the box and he avoided a tackle just outside before firing a shot into the top left corner. Agyemang got the ball in the middle of the field and was able to get around the defense and get a clean look at the goal to place the ball into the top right corner.

F.A. Cup - On to the final! We completed the stunning comeback against Aston Villa to send us through. Many will argue the lack of top tier competition we faced throughout this cup run, but I can only ask them how many of these matches have we been favored in? We have defied the odds in almost every match, and it is no fluke that we are here now. Arsenal is an elite club though, and they are the current cup holder as well. It will be one of the toughest matches we've played all year, but we are motivated to once again defy the odds.

League Title - It feels good to have the trophy in hand now. It wasn't much of a surprise after leading all season, but it feels good to be able to call ourselves the champions. We are moving up to League 1 now, but that isn't our final goal. We want to get this club back to the Premier League where it belongs. It will be 1 step at a time, but I have faith that it is something we can accomplish.

Youth Players - Matt Rhead and Tafari Makasi both made their debuts in the final two matches of the season. Rhead contributed an assist on the goal against Cheltenham Town that secured a point, and Makasi kept a clean sheet in his debut between the sticks against Daggenham. We are excited to see our youth academy start to send players to the senior squad, and this is only the first of many we expect to bring through over the next few years.

Unfortunately, I am unable to get pictures of gameplay into my updates. I'd love to and will hopefully in the future, but for now I cannot.

        MAKING THEM DREAM
        SEASON 1
        PS4
        LEGENDARY

        League Cup Quarter Finals

        Liverpool 1-0 Manchester City
        Lallana 90
This was a deserved win to carry on our cup run. We had a few good chances, and one that came out of the blue that forced Caballero into a magnificent save. Balotelli collected the ball out on the right hand side, but instead of cutting inside, or crossing the ball, he took a shot that almost found the corner at the near post. Fernando was sent off in the second half for a stupid foul on Kovacic to get his second yellow card, and we began to exploit the space in the middle. Unfortunately, all the amazing balls through the middle came to a Sturridge who would miss every chance. We finally got the win in incredible style, Lallana letting fly with a dipping shot that dropped into the bottom corner at the far post.

        Match 14

        Liverpool 1-0 Sunderland
        Gerrard 75
We got a decent win today as we managed to stay on top of the table, despite our recent rocky form. Our first chance of the game came to Sturridge, Pantilimon excellently stopping his attempted chip. Gerrard fired a low drive wide not long after from distance. The keeper made another great save to stop a powerful Skrtel header from a good corner. The second half was dull, but we managed to find the net with one of the few chances of the half. The ball was played to Gerrard who took a touch to take it away from Coates, and then toe poked the ball through the keepers legs.

        Champions League Match 6

        Standard Liege 0-1 Liverpool
        Balotelli 45 (PEN)
The Belgian side ran us close, and we had 3 standout performers that stopped them beating us for the second time. Kovacic, the midfield lynchpin controlled the game. Clyne stopped every attack down his right hand side. Finally, Nkoulou, his first game where he's impressed me, absolutely bossed the defence and no attacker could get past him. Balo had the first chance of the game, firing slightly wide from 30 yards. He then scored a penalty after Kovacic was brought down in the box. Mignolet later made a good save to deny Enoh, before Thuram made an excellent save to deny Balotelli.

        Match 15

        Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
        Coutinho 41
        Sturridge 62
        Valencia 88

In my first North-West derby, I had to win, and we went out to do just that. Balotelli fired inches wide with a powerful effort from distance, just 3 minutes into the game. Mignolet made an excellent save to stop Rooney's thunderous strike and Di Maria headed a good cross well over the bar. Coutinho then opened the scoring with an absolutely tremendous, curling effort from distance that had amazing bend to find the corner. Sturridge wasted a wonderful opportunity to make it 2, running onto an incredible ball by Henderson, but he prodded it with his left instead of curling with his right to put the ball just wide. However, he made up for it a few minutes later, dispossessing Rafael and stroking in under De Gea. Valencia pulled one back late on, heading in from a hopeful ball forward by Rafael, setting up a nervy end to the game.

        Match 16

        Liverpool 0-1 Arsenal
        Jovetic 29
Arsenal deserved this in every way. They were more solid in defence, more controlled in the midfield and more creative in attack. Jovetic had the first opportunity early on, beating 2 defenders before firing just wide. He gave the Gunners the lead after some clever triangle passing, before flicking it past Clyne and smashing in at the near post. Henderson forced Szczesny into a good save with an effort from distance but it went back to being all Arsenal. We had another chance late on, the ball coming through to Sturridge but Szczesny made an excellent reflex save.

        Match 17

        Leicester 0-0 Liverpool
It was unbelievable that Leicester got a point in this game. Yes, we used a weakened side, but they were playing with 10 men for 85 minutes after De Laet got sent off after 5. And to make things worse, they had better chances. Kramaric fired wide for them before Ibe's powerful effort forced an incredible save from Schwarzer. Mignolet made a decent save to deny Kramaric before Ulloa headed wide from the edge of the box. We came very close to winning it late on, Ibe's powerful, dipping effort smashing off the crossbar.

        Match 18

        Burnley 1-2 Liverpool
        Sturridge 31
        Coutinho 45
        Barnes 56

        Simmed.

        Match 19

        Liverpool 2-0 Swansea
        Lambert 2
        Keita 67

        Simmed.

        Match 20

        Liverpool 2-0 Leicester
        Coutinho 6
        Balotelli 63

Sorry about simming three on the trot but I really wanted to get into transfers and I couldn't wait!

        Champions League Group F

        SL Benfica 10
        FC Schalke 04 9
        Standard Liege 4

        Transfer Window

With the upcoming transfer window, I plan to make some sensible moves. I doubt there will be any big money moves, I assume the maximum being around the £10 million mark. Firstly, I have transfer listed Jose Enrique, Lucas Leiva and Martin Skrtel. Jose Enrique has been completely pushed out by Alberto Moreno and Jon Flanagan. Lucas has had little involvement, originally planned to be a crucial part of the team, he has been unimpressive whenever he has played. Finally, Skrtel. I did not expect to be letting him go, but he has asked for an astronomical amount of money that I refuse to give him, and he has became 5th choice this season behind Sakho, Nkoulou, Can and Lovren.

I would like to bring in a new goalkeeper, as despite Mignolet's good clean sheet record, he makes tons of mistakes. I am looking at German Under-21 international Bernd Leno, Barcelona keeper Claudio Bravo, Genoa man Mattia Perin and Schalke stopper Ralf Fahrmann. I have been looking at a new defender to add consistency to the back 4, but there has been little that I can afford.

          May 2018 - Season 4
          FIFA 15 (PS4)

          Sevilla FC 3 - 3 CA Osasuna
SEV: Quaresma 30' Rabello 67' De Jong 90'
          OSA: Guillermo 50' 74' Lopez 90'
Osasuna have only been able to gather 5 points in their last 5 matches before Sevilla and they came out hoping to change their poor league form. Unfortunately for them, they met a Sevilla determined to get into a Champions League spot and we were treated to an amazing match of football. Quaresma started the scoring 30 minutes into the match with a wonderfully curved free kick that left Rodriguez standing on his line. The match was so tight that neither team could get a shot on goal during open play. Five minutes into the second half Jose Campaña played a through ball to Guillermo who put in a powerful shot on goal and equalized the match!

Igor Akinfeev had gotten a touch on the ball but it wasn't enough to send the ball out and it bounced into the net behind him. Rabello would put Sevilla back in the lead in the 67th minute, but seven minutes later Guillermo would equalize again! Isma Lopez sent Guillermo a through ball from the left wing and once he entered the box Guillermo took a powerful low shot on goal that sneaked into the net from in between Akinfeev's legs!

The match became even more exciting now as both teams went all out attack looking for the lead. At the 90th minute Luis Martinez, second half sub, stole the ball in his defensive third and sprinted up the pitch. Martinez isn't very fast, but next to Sevilla's tired players he was flying! The fans got on their feet as they noticed that Martinez had just started a 4 on 1 counter attack with Palacios, Guillermo, Lopez, and himself all pushing in attack against only one Sevilla defender. He waited for the defender to come out to pressure him and then lobbed the ball to Guillermo. Guillermo felt Sevilla's players catching up so without hesitation he headed the ball to Isma Lopez. Lopez dribbled into the box one on one with Akinfeev. He couldn't miss, he absolutely could not miss this chance and he didn't! Lopez took a smooth shot on goal with his inside foot that beat the world class keeper Akinfeev!

We thought it was all over, we were even getting ready to end the transmission when not even a minute later Sevilla's De Jong took a strong shot from the edge of the box and equalized the match at 3-3. Chavez just stood on the sideline shaking his head. Could Osasuna's luck get any worse lately?

          CA Osasuna 1 - 1 Real Madrid
          OSA: Guillermo 2'
          REA: Lewandowski 45'
Just two minutes had passed by and we were already celebrating the first goal. Guillermo had stolen the ball in his attacking third and since Sergio Ramos did not come out to pressure him he took a long shot on goal which soared into the top corner of the net past Iker Casillas' dive.

An outstanding goal even more so because of the opponent. Real Madrid pushed hard for the equalizer and finally achieved it right before the halftime whistle with Robert Lewandowski striking the ball into the back of the net from inside the box. Real Madrid had everything to take the lead in the second half as they were definitely the better side on the field and had Osasuna against the wall. Jose Antonio Rodriguez was named MOTM with 8 saves, and was the main reason why Osasuna were able to at least take a point from the match.

          Champions League - Final
          CA Osasuna vs PSG
Finally, the match we've been waiting for all season. Wembley Stadium will be the battlefield as these two teams go head to head for Europe's throne. We weren't expecting neither of these teams to reach the final, but PSG have world class quality in their lineup with the likes of Ibrahimovic, Lavezzi (the hero of the semifinal), Varane, Thiago, and the former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea. On the other side Osasuna have an inspired Guillermo who is considered Spain's up and coming star striker of the future, and a team that has played with heart and overcame all odds. From just barely surviving the group stage to humiliating Barcelona, this team has proven that they cannot be underestimated and they plan to win their second consecutive European title in this, their first ever Champions League participation.

          May Headlines

          Quinti Renews Contract
LB Xavi Quinti (71 OVR) signed a 4 year contract with Osasuna in Chavez's first season and then spent 3 seasons on loan at other clubs. He returned this season, the last year on his contract, with the opportunity of finally showing himself with the B-Team. The staff had already told him his contract would not be reviewed until the end of the season, and the young left back worked hard to get a permanent offer. His determination over the years has finally paid off and he has been offered a new 4 year contract with a big pay raise for him, going from $1,000 per week to $25,000 per week, and also an improved squad role going from Sporadic First Team Player to Squad Rotation Player. The kid has a bright future and Chavez is glad to have him stay.

          No Vacation For Chavez
Chavez continues to make history with Osasuna, now by winning the Champions League title, but he won't have much time to enjoy it as he has another huge challenge coming up: the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He is expected to announce his final squad list for Mexico soon and after Mexico's recent Friendlies there are a lot of doubts among the supporters. Mexico has been drawn in Group B with some tough competition. This is how the group stands:

FIFA World Cup - Group B
          1. Spain - 0 points
          2. Hungary - 0 points
          3. Mexico - 0 points
          4. Uruguay - 0 points

          Conclusion
Finally, the end of the season. I think this season has taken me longer to complete than the past three, but it's finally over and I'm extremely happy to have won the Champions League. What's funny is that I've won the Europa League and the Champions, but I have yet to win a domestic title. I completely fell off the race for the league title this year and I'm still dealing with ghosts in the Copa Del Rey. The end of the season was brutal, I honestly felt like the game was purposely making life impossible for me, and I hope that doesn't carry over to the World Cup.

I've started to scout for potential transfer targets but so far I only have one in mind: a replacement for Isma Lopez. Yep, our very own Basque wide man. Nothing against the fella, it's just that Keano here has him by default at Sporting Gijon, and also I want to mix it up a little. Christian Tello has been on my wish list ever since I started this career, but I'm hesitant about making an offer for him since he's at Barcelona the current league champs. You know I don't like poaching off the competition! Therefore, I will be searching the Liga Adelante teams for a winger. I already have one in mind, but any recommendations are welcome!

The Youth Academy had a mutiny this month with our boys rebelling against us and many of them departing. I promoted three initially (Santana, Garcia, Soriano) then the RB Ramirez demanded a call up and I obliged since I don't have any other RB in the academy, and then a bunch of other players began to demand a call up which is when I put my foot down. Chavez ain't taking any of that crap! So, my academy has reduced significantly with only about 3 notable players left. Looks like youth scouting will resume next season!

Well, that's it for this update and for the season. I want to thank you guys for sticking by me through all these matches and reading the updates. You guys are the reason I'm still posting, and I hope I can finally give you guys a league title next season! I will be posting a detailed squad review soon and don't forget we have the World Cup coming up! Until then,
          Thanks For Reading!

Sounds to me like you gave Simp an offer he couldn't refuse. Way to go man! Deal of The Year right there. Looking forward to seeing who will replace Mignolet!

I know. This window was mad. Essentially, what happened with Mignolet was the same thing that happened with Krul in my Newcastle career if you remember. I offered Migs + £4 mil for Leno, and at the same time Napoli put an offer in that I couldn't refuse. They ended up both going through at the same time, leaving me with Leno for £4 mil, Napoli with Migs and Bayer with no-one.

Have no idea what happened with Otamendi. My bid was £26.5 million. Went through for nothing.

When I do my update I will just put Leno for £4 million to save the complicated explanation.

Wow! Unbelievable result, I can't believe you won it in your first season. And it wasn't like you had an easy run through the cup either. Guillermo, who else, popping up and winning it in the dying minutes. Well done!

                    MAKING THEM DREAM
                    SEASON 1
                    PS4
                    LEGENDARY

                    FA Cup Round 3

                    Burnley 1-2 Liverpool
                    Vokes 25
                    Balotelli 45
                    Balotelli 74

Vokes gave Burnley an unexpected lead, firing in on the rebound from 6 yards after Kightly somehow hit the post from the same distance. Heaton was soon forced into a good save, Sturridge's shot taking a deflection off of Balotelli that almost caught the keeper out. We equalised when Sturridge put a floating ball in and the unmarked Balotelli was able to head home. We got the lead when Balotelli slid the ball home from Sturridge's powerful, low ball across goal. Sturridge had an opportunity for himself late on, firing inches wide on the half volley.

League Cup Semi Final Leg 1

                    Manchester United 0-1 Liverpool
                    Kovacic 61
This match was unbelievably dull. United were set up to not concede, and ended up having 0 shots and we only had 2, one of which went miles wide. The other, a low drive by Kovacic that took a slight deflection to find the bottom corner.

A Keeper In, A Keeper Out

Liverpool FC have signed Germany U21 international and Bayer Leverkusen number 1 goalkeeper, Bernd Leno, for a bargain deal of £4 million. The young man has already set himself up to be among the best in the world, and will be even better as he ages. Leno had this to say, "It is incredible to be joining a team like Liverpool. They may not have had much recent success, but to be joining a club with their history and stature, it is one of the best feelings ever. I know I will have to work hard due to the more physical nature of the Premier League, but I will make sure to try my best and show the fans I am what the club needed." Leno will be ineligible for Champions League football as he has played for Leverkusen.

Meanwhile, Belgium international Simon Mignolet has departed for £18 million to Napoli, making him the 8th most expensive keeper of all time. Despite being the joint leader in clean sheets, the manager has been unimpressed with his shaky displays in important games, and was ready to cash in. Mignolet said "I am happy to be joining Napoli, where I can seek a new challenge and make a new reputation in a different country. I would like to thank all the staff at Liverpool for sticking with me through difficult spells, but now I must look on to a new chapter in my career."

                    Match 21

                    Aston Villa 0-0 Liverpool
This was an incredibly dull game. Sturridge had the first chance, rounding the keeper before slicing wide as he was off balance. Benteke had a volley well saved by Leno before Borini fired just over the bar.

                    Pre-Contract Arrivals

Liverpool confirmed today that Manchester City midfielder, James Milner, will be joining the team for free on July 1st. The versatile Englishman will be coming in for depth across the midfield, experience in what will be a very young squad, and of course, his home grown status. He said "I am very happy to be joining Liverpool as they are a side that has lots of ambition and are developing youth. However, for now I have to focus on doing a job for Manchester City."

Also confirmed to be joining in July is Italian former youth international goalkeeper, Tommaso Berni. The Inter backup has been a backup for a number of high profile clubs, including Lazio, Braga and Sampdoria. He spent the majority of his career in the Italian second and third divisions and will be joining as a third choice keeper and a powerful dressing room figure. When asked for a comment he said "I am absolutely delighted to get a chance to experience the Premier League, especially for a team like Liverpool. I know I will only be a backup, but I hope to be able to get some game time for the club."

                    Match 22

                    Sunderland 1-0 Liverpool
                    Defoe 77 (PEN)
There weren't many chances that really tested the keepers in this game. Skrtel came close with a powerful header that was just tipped over the bar. Alvarez fired wide for Sunderland after beating 3 defenders before Leno made a decent save to stop Defoe. Defoe broke the deadlock from the penalty spot after a rash tackle by Keita, to give Sunderland the win.

League Cup Semi Final Leg 2

Liverpool 2-1 Manchester United (3-1 agg)
                    Balotelli 27 (PEN)
                    Balotelli 76 (PEN)
                    Di Maria 84

Balotelli opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Sterling was fouled by Shaw in the box. Leno made 2 excellent saves to deny Rooney and Di Maria before Sturridge fired inches wide from distance. Balotelli then scored another penalty after Smalling brought Sterling to ground. Di Maria pulled one back late on, firing in after some excellent passing, but it was too little, too late. We're going to Wembley!!

                    Another Keeper!

England Under-21 and Stoke goalkeeper, Jack Butland, has joined Liverpool for a £5.5 million fee. The young Englishman has been brought in as backup for Bernd Leno and will be used as the first choice goalkeeper in the Champions League as Leno is ineligible. He said "I have made it. I am now playing for a top club, it has always been the dream. And I will be starting in the Champions League, it is a dream come true!"

                    FA Cup Round 4

                    Liverpool 3-0 Wolves
                    Allen 28
                    Moreno 54
                    Balotelli 78

                    Simmed.

Really? We are doing this again? Tbh I wouldn't mind it as it was big fun last time. I'm not entirely sure what happened but I heard that Valencia's chairman is sleeping with the fishes now. Also, huge congratulations on the CL title! You had a marvelous cup run!

Also, Jamie, I'm sure Otamendi will be amazing foe you. At least he's great for me.

Also, I checked some of my old squad reviews and in Fifa 14 Thomas Müller scored 66 goals in 49 games for Hertha. That's even better than Kalou's 43, 44 or 45 league goals!

You turned it around really nice though and took the win although Chelsea really had you against the wall. I thought Dybala would have a bigger impact on the match given his recent form against Arsenal but I hardly saw anything from him. Wickham was on fire though! I was worried every time the ball would get near Leno but the German wanted to leave in somewhat good terms. The move back to Germany sounds realistic, and you have yourself an outstanding replacement too. Looking forward to De Gea's debut. He wasn't the starter at United anymore?

Yeah, I thought I would use the music to throw a little wrench into the viewer's head before the epic comeback! Wickham has been tearing it up, which is awesome because it takes some of the load off of Dybala who had really been carrying our team up to that point, so it's good to know we can get some clutch goals from elsewhere. As for De Gea, he was the backup at United having played just 11 BPL games (with 2 clean sheets) of their 23 total BPL matches, and hadn't played at all in any of the cup competitions (Europa, C1C, or FA), so I'm sure he's more than happy to move away from Manchester!!!

Also, Chico CONGRATS on winning the Champions League! You went on an incredible run through the tournament, and like you said it is crazy how you won it before even picking up a La Liga trophy! Crazy to score such a late winner as well, you must have been going nuts!

                                Pelle 79

A pretty easy win for the Saints as West Ham just didn't show up. Ward-Prowse headed in Tadic's corner late in the first half. And Pelle also scored with his head from Bertrand's cross to kill the game off.

                                Ward-Prowse 87

A very entertaining game where the home team just edged it. Forster, with a man of the match performance, was superb in goal for the home team. And it was Ward-Prowse's header from the edge of the box that made the difference late in the match.

                                Mane 81

A very dull game where there were only a few chances for either team. Mane managed to win it late on after a great run with a low and hard shot to Tim Krul's left.

                                Sigurdsson 56
                                Dyer 60

This was a game of two in which the visitors couldn't take their chances and they would rue that in the 2nd half. A mix up between Fabianski and Williams allowed Long to score into an open net. The combination of Dyer and Sigurdsson completed Swansea's comeback in less than 4 minute. Dyer's amazing run ended with Sigurdsson tapping in his cross. And Sigurdsson was the provider 4 minutes later as his cross was met by Dyer's header near post. That meant a first defeat of the season for the visitors.

                                Pelle 59
                                Fer 78
                                Mane 86

The home team dominated from start to finish in a controversial match. Fonte was given a straight red in the 2nd half and QPR had both of their strikers sent off by the end of the game. But the home team redeemed themselves after a poor showing at the Liberty Stadium. And the Saints continue their mission of securing a Europa League spot.
