    Guru,
I found your dynasty through you editing the PS3 rosters and have been spending time catching up on it and I've really enjoyed it. Good luck against Tualane.

By the way, is there still time to sign up for the CAC? If so I'd love to sign up

Pretty much. I think the only way we lose the game is if we beat ourselves.

Tulane has good linebackers, but the line leaves a bit to be desired. They need to be at their best today.

Nah, no it isn't. Those pass/rush numbers should be reversed. I would never throw for 320 yds per game .

Anyway, here's my obligatory "Good luck." Followed by an impulsive "ROOOOLLLL WAAAAVVEEE!!!!!!"
It kind of surprised me that with 'Daz coaching, they've moved to a pass heavy offense. He's always been about the run game at his previous stops, especially here at BC with a 1000 yard rushing QB last year (Murphy) and ANDRE! going for 2k in 2013.

I have no idea how a Wave can fare in a snowstorm (what we're getting in this one). But we'll see.

Thanks for checking in lunsford. It's awesome that I've been able to keep the dynasty going for this long and basically be running a madhouse with all the people commenting. This is a dream come true for a 'chiser.

Re: We have a football team too... Guru's UConn Huskies (NCAA 14)

              Next Stop: College Football Playoff

UConn dominates second half, win AAC for second straight year; UConn off to football's version of bracketology

WOOO! We 13-0, the best team everrrrrr!!!

OK, maybe I'm ahead of myself, but friends, we are two steps away from achieving the goal of the dynasty. UConn football is on the map, and, with their second straight AAC Title, now lock themselves into the 4th installment of College Football's Playoff and are two wins away from the program's first ever National Championship. Not only that, but we also stretched the Rent's win streak to something like 16 games (2 years, 2 months).

Who we face in the CFP we do not know (hinges on tonight's SEC and Pac-12 title games), but we do know that UConn turned in a dominant second half performance against the Green Wave of Tulane to win the AAC in a snowy showdown, and the defense is as good as ever.

After the first half, that is.

Josh Marriner rattled off 54 yards on his own on UConn's opening drive, and got first blood on a Ron Johnson 4 yard TD run.

It did take UConn a bit to settle in, as evidenced by Sherman Badie bounced Tulane's first play of their drive 78 yards off a few tackles to tie the game at 7.

Tulane would keep the momentum going, stopping UConn on their next drive and exposing their run defense, as this time it was Tanner Lee who took a read option 46 yards for the TD. Tulane had an early lead after a quarter, 14-7.

Marriner came close to passing 100 yards early in the second quarter after runs of 8 and 24, but it was Bryant Shirreffs who tied the game again with an 11 yard scramble to make it 14 up.

Again though, UConn continued to struggle on run defense early. Dontrell Hilliard gained 27 right up the middle, and Lee broke another QB keeper 28 yards to the right for the go-ahead TD with 5 minutes left in the 2nd.

Arkeel Newsome, uber return man extraordinaire, brought the ensuing kickoff to the Tulane 36, and UConn converted the layup with a 7 yard Marriner TD to tie the game again.

Fortunately, the UConn D dug in, and proceeded to stop Tulane on their next drive. With the half closing in, Vontae Diggs nabbed a Lee pass from in front of tight end Kendall Ardoin and brought it back to the Tulane 10.

After a 3 yard Marriner run, UConn dipped into their bag of tricks and set up center Steve Hashemi, converted from tight end at the start of the year, in the offset I for a play action at the 7. Shirreffs faked to Marriner, and sure enough, no one caught Hashemi, he hauled in the pass and walked into the end zone.

It was clearly deception. But regardless, UConn had the lead 28-21 going into the half.

Tulane got nowhere on their first drive out of the half, and UConn started their next drive from the Tulane 48. Marriner cleared 100 yards on the day (and took over #1 in the nation in rushing yardage) with a spinning 30 yard run, but UConn ended up a half yard short on their next set of downs. Marriner picked up 5 on 4th and short, but Eldrick Washington stuffed Marriner short, and UConn took a short field goal to go up 31-21.

After a few rough drives, Tulane finally got something going. Lee hit Bo Robbins for a 12 yard pickup, and Badie scampered for 11. But when Lee fired long to Teddy Veal, Jamar Summers happened to be right there. And being the best DB in UConn history, of course he picked that ball off and brought it to the UConn 42.

Unfortunately, UConn couldn't do anything with it and Tulane had another chance to make up the 10 point deficit as we crossed into the 4th. However, Lee fired his 3rd INT of the day to Derek Robinson along the right sideline. He had no one in front of him, but if he didn't have to collect his momentum he would've probably scored.

Regardless, Marriner, closing in on 150 yards at this point, cleaned up with a 7 yard TD to give UConn a 38-21 lead.

And with Tulane needing to get something going, Lee dialed long distance, but Summers hung up on him, stepped in front of Veal, picked it off, turned around and brought the INT to the house to virtually end the game at 45-21 with under 4 minutes remaining.

Tulane did score on their next drive, but failed to convert the conversion or recover the onside. UConn ran out the clock, and are AAC Champs for the second straight year!

Not really bittersweet as UConn had very little ties to the conference, and this is the last stop before going to the Big 12 next year, but still a great day for UConn, as they are now off to the CFP!

Marriner ended up with 209 yards on 35 carries, and was the big cog in the offense as Shirreffs really didn't need to throw much.

But once again, it was Bob Diaco's beautifully crafted defense that did in Tulane. They couldn't find their footing almost until the second half, but they flustered Lee and forced him into mistakes, and that was the big key.

Friends, we're off. The bowl? No clue. Is UConn making a return trip to the Rose Bowl, with a little more on the line this time? Or is it the Sugar Bowl?

See ya in the CFP. Rise Up Together. 13 down, 2 to go.

Harris wins Heisman, Marriner a close 2nd

The race for the Heisman has concluded. Not necessarily how we'd hoped, but it is how we expected. Florida's fine senior QB Treon Harris took home the award after throwing for 3162 yards, running for over 900 more and accounting for 48 TD's in total this season. Harris led the Heisman Power Poll most of the season.

UConn tailback Josh Marriner, led by his 209 yard performance against Tulane in the AAC Championship Game, jumped from 4th in the Power Poll to 2nd in the final voting, falling short by 255 points. The Huskies' senior tailback has rushed for over 1800 yards this season and has a chance to break Donald Brown's career rushing record (with 249 yards in the upcoming playoffs, he can do that.)

UCLA's senior QB Asiantii Woulard finished 3rd, TCU tailback Shaun Nixon finished 4th.

Oregon QB Morgan Mahalak, who was not invited to the Heisman ceremony, finished 5th. Auburn RB Roc Thomas finished 6th, Wyoming's Nico Evans placed 7th.

                    ---------------------------------------------------

Diaco, Huskies take home some more hardware

While Josh Marriner didn't win the Heisman, he did take home the Doak Walker Award, given to the nation's top running back. This is the first time a Husky has won the Walker Award.

Senior DE Cam Stapleton had the biggest haul as he won the Nagurski Trophy and Lombardi Award, given to the nation's top defender (Nagurski) and interior lineman (Lombardi).

Junior tailback Arkeel Newsome won his third straight Return man of the year award, meaning that UConn has won their 4th straight award (Newsome 3 times, Deshon Foxx in 2014).

Finally, Coach Bob Diaco won the Coach of the Year award unanimously, as voted upon by AP. Diaco becomes the first Husky coach to win the Award.

I love snow at any football game. I've played some great snow games in NCAA 14 (I got at least one a year in an online dynasty I did with Old Dominion before it got corrupted), and got some good snow games with my Kentucky dynasty.

Also, one of my fondest NFL memories was when the Pats crushed the Titans in the snow, in, I believe 2009. They won that game something like 56-7 while wearing the retro all red unis...was a great day.

Oregon jumps UCLA, Auburn to barely reach #4; will face UConn in Sugar Bowl

Oregon has pulled off the improbable. Ranked #11 two weeks ago, and #9 coming into conference championship week, Oregon knocked off two-time defending national champions UCLA in overtime of the Pac-12 Championship.

As a result, the Ducks jumped UCLA and 5th ranked Auburn, as well as North Carolina, Marshall and Missouri, and are now ranked #4 and will play in the College Football Playoff.

And that is where we meet our UConn Huskies. The Ducks and #1 UConn meet in the Allstate Sugar Bowl, the late game on New Year's Day. Oregon won the first ever Playoff in January 2015, and is making their first appearance since. UConn is in the playoff for the first time ever.

TCU moved up to #2 and Florida, courtesy of winning the SEC championship, moved up to #3. The two will play in the Rose Bowl, a 4:30 start on New Year's. TCU is also making their first Playoff appearance, whereas Florida lost the CFP Championship to UCLA in January 2016.

                        Full Bowl Map

Again, for those of you who may or may not have caught up, I started changing corporate sponsors of a bunch of bowl games last season, as you'd see in real life. Found a list of Fortune 500 companies and related their locations to the games and went from there. There was a list of changes posted earlier in the month, but if anyone's curious I'll repost it. CAC bowl games are highlighted, 4 of 6 is a definite improvement over 2 of 5 last year. Now let's make it something like 12 of 14 next year haha.

Sugar Bowl coming soon, with a surprise. Hmmmm.......we shall soon find out, maybe as soon as tomorrow. #RiseUpTogether!

Thanks UK. I'm having a blast doing this... I feel like I've tried to be too serious in past projects, I'm just having more fun with it and it's finding me more success.

We've reached 14...CAC's. Damn. I was going to try some new graphics for that, but now that we've more than doubled our pool, I'll need to rethink that. But excited to see so many CAC's!

Someone should start a college hoops thread titled, "We have a basketball team too.." Great job so far with this team. Now go get that Natty.

Good question. I'm not sure. I really want to do a dynasty with the '15 rosters (I have a team in mind), but I won't be using the spring rosters. Looks like I'm spearheading the fall project (what I would use), and that will make it more of my roster, I like that. But the thing is will time be an issue. My school workload will be a pain this fall, I have no clue if I can keep running two dynasties at once..We'll see. But I have 5 goals remaining for this dynasty.
