    Metallicarl's All Time Basketball Dream Season

    OK, finally have this file done!!!! I have attached the file, I am not sure of all the steps to transfer this to your PC....I have only done it with NCAA football. Please do not ask me the steps, there are threads in this forum on how to do it. Please feel free to give me feedback..since there are so many teams, some are researched more than others. If you are a fan of one of the schools you may know more about how each player looked and played. Post any edits for gear, appearance, and ratings. I did a ton of research on stats, gear, and appearance but some of the smaller or older schools dont have many photos. If you feel a players ratings are off, give me detailed changes( dont just say a players overall is high/low, say his ball handling or defensive rating is off) Hope everyone enjoys this as much as I am!!!

      Unfortunately I don't have a PS3 to try these on, but I'm wondering if you could post the overall ratings for 1977 UNCC. Thanks.

        I'm not sure I rate players the same as default so I dont know how these work with other teams that havent been rerated. I made a few formulas off of actual per minute player stats, but here's UNCC's roster

        #33 F/C Cedric Maxwell 6-8/205 SR NC (82)
        #23 SF Lew Massey 6-5 JR NC (74)
        #21 SG Chad Kinch 6-4 FR NJ (76)
        #25 PF Kevin King 6-7 SOPH NJ (74)
        #32 PG Melvin Watkins 6-3 SR NC (73)
        #12 G Jeff Gruber 6-0 JR NC (68)
        #31 PF Phil Scott 6-6 FR MD (72)
        #44 F Mike Hester 6-7 FR NC (69)
        #22 G Todd Crowley 6-4 NC (66)
        #43 F/C Ken Angel 6-8 SR KY (69)
        #10 PG Jerry Winston 5-9 SOPH NJ (66)
        #24 G Lee Whitfield 6-1 FR NC (67)
        #42 G/F Henry Caldwell 6-2 SR SC (66)
        #35 C Greg Spain 6-8 JR MD (66)

          Would it be work for both 09 and 10...I own only PS3 NCAA 10
          And I'm very interested in your wonderful project, I don't know all the teams perfectly but they seem to be good choices...all my youth too! (play with the flashy Ernie di Gregorio, Providence'73 would be great)
          Is there any limitation to create players in the game? and do you use BASKETBALLREFERENCE to get information about the teams?
          Deeply with your work, greetings from France

            These rosters are for NCAA 10 on PS3, I put 09-10 because thats the way the seasons are listed. The only limitations are the players year(freshman, sophomore, etc) cant be changed but I have tried to get it as close as possible by editing players with the same year(editing seniors into other seniors). That Providence team should be fun with Ernie D, Marvin Barnes, and company....I try to use as many references as I can, sports-reference.com is great and I have quite a few old basketball preseason guides, and googling a ton of names. Thanks for the feedback!!

              Metallicarl, do you hesitate for the teams without a year? very difficult to choose one (I could suggest 84-85 for Georgia Tech with Mark Price and John Salley, ...or 89-90 with Kenny Anderson, Virginia 80-81, Loyola Marymount 89-90 with RIP Hank Gathers and former French Championship player Bo Kimble, and don't forget 89-90 NCAA Champion UNLV and so PHI SLAMA JAMA Houston 83-84!!)
              Great and long work you try to do, do you know if it's possible in the game, to reproduce the playing style of each teams (no analogy between Houston and Duke'92 for example)

                I've always felt EA's basketball could be edited to make it feel better on the floor by having the players fee more grounded.

                I think in NCAA 08 i had to make the following changes globally to give movement done right and also make the AI smarter on offense and defense

                Passing +5
                Speed +10
                Quickness -40
                Offensive Ability +15
                Defensive Ability +15
                Fatigue -5

                  I've already done rosters for the teams, even if I didnt list the year yet...that list isn't complete, I just havent finished updating it yet. For GT I did the year with Scott, Oliver, and Anderson and LMU has the late, great Gathers( By the way, one of my alltime favorite players!!) and I went with 83 Houston instead of 84 just so my 83 NC State could beat them again and again haha!! I havent gotten into the styles yet...the up tempo and motion offense combined has been giving me fits in testing with team putting up 90+ points on me but I dont think you can edit coaching, you would have to set it pregame(someone correct me if I'm wrong)

                    Since I'm new at this game any help on ratings from you would be great!! I came up with a few scales for ratings based on default highs and lows, but with some tinkering. And I made scales for most attributes based off a players stats per minute....seems to working pretty well. Speed and quickness I have been basing off the type of player they were. I did notice that defensive ability seemed really low, so I did bump them around 10-15. I'll briefly breakdown a few of my charts:

                    Passing
                    Assists/per minute--Rating
                    .25+ = 99
                    .18 = 90
                    .12 = 80
                    .07 = 70
                    If a player was a good passer but just didnt have many assists, I give them a bump

                    Offensive rebound/PM ---Rating
                    .20 = 99
                    .15 = 84
                    .10 = 69
                    .05 = 54

                    Defensive rebound/PM---rating
                    .25 = 99
                    .20 = 87
                    .15 = 75
                    .10 = 63
                    .05 = 51

                    With these rebound settings, it keeps average players low, but they still get rebounds based on position. But the dominant rebounders really stand out, especially on the offensive end. Let me know what yours thought are on this system. I also use a players actual FT% for the rating and have a scale for FG% that I use with their shooting range:

                    FG%--Rating
                    70 = 91
                    65 = 85
                    60 = 79
                    55 = 73
                    50 = 67
                    45 = 61
                    40 = 55
                    35 = 49
                    30 = 43

                      Just a little update.... I've been chipping away at this for the last few weeks and have around 120 teams done(still need to tweak a few ratings as I play with teams) and plan to have around 210 when I'm fnished. I will try to post updates on here of the teams and years when I get a chance. On a side note, if anyone could find the player's mnutes played or avg minutes per game for 1997 Arizona, please post on here. It shouldnt be so hard to find complete stats for a pretty recent NCAA champion...but it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm currently working on a roster consisting of each school's best season. If anyone is interested I will share with the community. If anyone has any feedback or info they want to share please post on here. I have already picked teams and completed most player data...just working on ratings and I will post a list of teams within a week or two.
                        I'm interested in these rosters. Can you provide a link?

                        I'm putting together some Alumni rosters. Working on the ACC first, and I'm doing it by decades. So for example, UNC '80-'89, Duke '86-'95, UVA '80-89, etc.

                        I just got the game yesterday. I might just do 1980-1999 rosters for all teams. Someone else can do the ones after 2000.

                          Metallicarl who is going to be on the teams you are not doing? How will they be rated?

                            I think I'm just going to lower some ratings so there will be a few players in the low 70's and the rest 69-60. There shouldnt be too many of these teams though because I'm going pretty in depth including most Southern Conf teams, MAC, Horizon, etc. Almost every school no matter how small usually had at least one break out season between 1960's-2010.

                              Have you supplied a link yet, or are you waiting to finish before doing so?
