We don't know if any of those things are in. They say they will make improvements in those area every year and they don't.

Would have been nice if they proved this year would be different with a video.

I thought I saw a screen shot from the blog with women in the stands, appropriate winter gear(no more summer clothes) and terrible towels.

Am I missing something?

I'm a huge a franchise mode guy so gameplay and presentation have been the remaining barriers between Madden/EA and my cash. The gameplay videos posted thus far haven't impressed in the least. I was hoping the presentation announcement would compensate... but it has been equally underwhelming. Still I will withhold final judgement until some footage of the finished product

But arguing with umps is not on the same level, MLB still lets you create teams or edit player names correct?

Like I said I get some of the restrictions, but I fail to see how me playing as the Birmingham Princesses in my own living room could ever affect their brand image. By that logic all the other games I mentioned would have the same impact on their sports. FIFA doesn't have the greatest image right now, but last I played they had a website almost identical to teambuilder.

Those things are irrelevant to me and I'm sure to most people.

We have no idea what the crowd actually sounds like.

FIFA does not own the branding rights to anything other than the World Cup and the organisation itself. The teams are licensed via the different leagues, and outside the MLS you aren't dealing with franchises but independent clubs. Consequently no one party has enough muscle to make the same demands as a franchised single competition sport like the NFL.

You would be wrong. There are plenty of people who complained constantly about people wearing shorts during cold weather games.

Crowd standing during big plays and head tracking.

Look, we get it. You dont believe any significant improvements were done to the game. If thats the case, move on and let people who do see the improvements discuss the game.

The thing I don't like about the commentary is that it doesn't sound like commentary, it sounds way too scripted. Obviously it's going to always sound somewhat scripted because it is but it shouldn't be too hard to make it sound less scripted than it does just by creating better lines and making sure they don't repeat too much. MVP 2005 from a substance standpoint didn't really have good commentary at all, but it for the most part sounded really natural and unless Krukow would repeat the exact same thing twice in back to back sequences or say something completely stupid, it always sounded pretty good or at least natural.

I don't really pay attention to the commentary too much but just watching the Steelers-Browns vid there's instances where it makes itself more noticeable than it needs to be and I think that's what creates problems. Good commentary should just flow and and not stick out and but it seems like they put lines that are almost like "hey, you're supposed to be paying attention to this so listen" and IMO those are the worst lines. There's also issues with there being too much dead space and when they use player names. Overall I don't think it's really that bad but I don't really pay attention to it that much and I'm not really bothered by it either way but I still think there's a lot of area for improvement there.

Yes, a main reason why commentary is so bad in sports games is because it's so condescending. Part of what they are trying to do with the commentary is give clues to new players who might be unsure of what strategy to use. So they always say super obvious stuff. It makes it unlistenable for me, so I always turn if off.

For FIFA it only hasn't been brought to next gen because of tech. It's still active for last gen from what I can tell.

MLB has Diamond Dynasty which allows you to create a team for online unless that's gone now too?
