Online play for Rory is ruined

I can not believe what EA has decided to do with there new watered down game. They brilliantly decided to cast a spell on stroke play. No longer can one make a triple bogey or higher anymore. So now, all you kids come play. We are just trying our hardest to keep you in the game. Pathetic

Huh??? Double bogey is the highest you're allowed to get in online play???

There's no way that can be true...must be an option somewhere to adjust that.

Unfortunately true. And I hear double par is max in offline. Enough of this obsession with speed of play and focus on QUALITY OF PLAY. Inexcusable.

There's no way that can be true...must be an option somewhere to adjust that.

I wish there was an option, if so I haven't found it. Played vs my cousin last night in an unranked game and anytime you didn't make at least a double bogey..... Boom shot limit has been exceeded. Totally ruins the game for how me and him will play 4 round tourneys vs each other.

This makes sense. The 13 year old whiner doesn't want to be penalized for hitting a bad shot when his mom distracts him while bringing him a sandwich.

That just seems like an odd design decision. I can't think of a reason why it's in there. Just to speed things up, I guess?

What is the "Bad Shot" you speak of? Those don't exist in this game.

I don't own the game so can't comment, but judging how they have nerfed and dumbed down every other title, I can only imagine they want everyone to feel like a winner. Think about it, its impossible to even miss a FG in Madden. Imagine the screaming and whaling that would happen if the 13 year old missed a game winning field goal. His mother would sue EA for bullying.

The hell they don't.....you haven't played TOUR Custom difficulty enough......

I've played plenty. A friend and I played head to head on tour difficulty and both shot well under par. No putting grid or putting line. The only challenge was to crank the wind way up. The learning curve is minimum at best imo.

TOUR is nothing, TOUR Custom with all the aids off is the only way to crank up the difficulty...and hit the X button on every shot to remove pre-set shot.

We play with all aids off. Not sure if we did the custom shot thing. I will most definitely look into this tonight.

There is a shot clock of 2 mins for the hole period in Ranked play. The double bogey limit does speed up a match as you will have 2 good players in a game with an average and a poor one. It would be tough waiting as I am already finished with a hole when some guys are lining up their 2nd shots.

So I personally like it...
